My CD “Yearning” was just licensed by Lala.com.

My CD’s “Watercolor” and “Labyrinth” are now being distributed in Japan.

The new CD, “Blue in Blue,” should be released sometimes this fall.

If you’re around on June 2, please come to the Bitter End! I am one of 10 songwriters on the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame New Writers CD, and we’re having a showcase to celebrate. The first 100 people in attendance will get a free compilation CD.

If you're in NYC tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 28), come by the Cornelia Street Cafe at 9 pm to see a jazz piano trio double bill - my husband plays a set, then I play a set. He also plays drums in my trio!

I hadn't been there in a while, because I try to avoid Times Square if I can help it, but I really enjoyed this store and bought a lot of jazz and Brazilian music there.

On Monday, George Colligan, Paul Beaudry, Donny McCaslin and I went into the studio to record a new CD (Donny is on four tunes, five tunes are trio and one is solo). Now we need to mix and edit - time and money! time and money! We did all originals... I flirted with the idea of playing Milton Nascimento's "Outubro" but it just didn't work out, it sounded like easy listening the way I played it.

Somehow, I was discovered by the South China Morning Post (Hong Kong's premier English-language newspaper) and am featured in their audio podcast today.

So I'm writing a couple of articles that may be of interest to independent musicians. The first is posted at Indie Sounds NY, a great online indie music mag. Its founder is Pete Harris, who also operates an independent radio station. Hope this article is helpful, and stay tuned for the second one.

I just discovered this site where musicians collaborate online: Kompoz.com. My computer is just about to give up the ghost, and music software makes it crash, but I imagine that other musicians who have computer recording capabilities and good audio interfaces can really have a lot of fun with that site!

If you know me, you know I'm a fan of weekly songwriting workshops! They are a great way to get the creative juices flowing. I attended a year of the ones Lorraine Ferro taught for the Songwriters' Hall Of Fame, and now I'm finishing up a month of workshops taught by Tony Conniff. Tony also teaches through Gotham Writers, but he has a studio where he not only produces records but teaches two weekly workshops. A month seems like a perfect duration for a songwriting workshop. The series is relatively inexpensive, and you end up with 4 new songs at the end. Then you can go take a much-needed rest... or wait and sign up for the next installment of classes!

Hi! Well I've been publicizing like mad, and a feature publicizing my music and upcoming shows appeared in the Queens Chronicle today; the Queens Courier article appeared yesterday. I'm also psyched because Time Out NY listed the performance this Sunday with Markeisha Ensley and Kylie Edmond at Waltz-Astoria. Sometimes hard work pays off...

Well, George just got his box of CDs from Sunnyside! If you want to pre-order Runaway, his first release for the label, it's available at Amazon.com. Official release date is September 9. There will be a CD release party - details TBA. I'm so excited!
