It was time to get out of town. Kenny needed a ride to Monterey and I wanted to see some more of the state. Enjoy the photo essay of our trip.

First stop was dinner at Juliano's where Mike Y joined us. After the meal we met up w/

Brian and then went skating on the beach till traffic died down.

None of us had any moves for the world famous triple set. It's MASSIVE>

The Santa Monica pier is in the background.

Brian gets down on the NATAS curbs which we were really surprised to find unwaxed.

On a borrowed board, Ken pop shuvs the sand pit in Santa Monica.

Once back on the road about 7:30 we drove to Bakersfield and up into the Kern River

Canyon and slept in the car at the parking lot above Remington Hot Spring.

Kenny is freezing his ass off right here. Barefoot going down the 1/4 mile trail to
the hot springs... 6am.

Remington Hot Springs in my shangra la/. I love it here!

Casualty of war. A little slip there gave Kenny a souvenir.

From Remington we took a B line West and linked up on Highway 1. Drove by Hearst Castle then on up into the twisty coastal towns of Big Sur and Montery.

Kenny takes a brief nap on the coast.

This beach on the Big Sur coast was outstanding, I wanted to get to the sand, but that was not allowed.

Kenny's balancing act was terrific and terrifying.

I dropped Kenny w/ Brittany in Pebble Grove.

I drove into San Fran on Saturday night and slept in the car. In the morning I went to the skatepark.

A shot of Potrero Skatepark on a SUNDAY morning.. that's John Cardiel sitting down in the middle.

I ate the majority of my meals at Cafe Gratitude in the Mission.

Mission SKate Shop is the closest shop to Potrero and a customer of mine.

I met up with Heidi in the afternoon.

Prepping for the bike ride through Golden Gate park and out to OCEAN BEACH.

Danger. Too cold to get in the water anyway.

Heidi at the beach.

Grabbed a groovy RAW meal at Judahlicious.

Biking back to the Mission, I ran into Andreas Trolf on the sidewalk and we walked and chatted.

Monday I saw Keegan and skated the park. Ate at Gratitude and then met Heidi and Steve for dinner. As the rain was slated to move in on TUES, I elected to break out of town and push further north on Tuesday morning. After traffic died down, I made the 2 hour drive to Harbin Hot Springs. Cameras/cell phones are strictly forbidden. I soaked in the rain, did my first ever YOGA class, watched a movie, and slept in a bunk room. The next morning I soaked again, did yoga again, and hoped to be able to stay another day. No dice... they had no room for me. So I drove to Santa Rosa in hopes of seeing Dan Van der Mark. Ate at whole foods and watched SUNSHINE CLEANING. Never heard from Dan so I started drivin back to SF. About half way there, I made a detour and drove WEST to the coast. Getting drowsy, I pulled over and slept for about an hour.  Then was abruptly distrurbed by a highway patrolman telling me I couldn't sleep there. So I drove a little further and hid the car in a neighborhood where I slept undisturbed til after dawn.

This is the ramp at PROOFLAB in Marin. Too wet.

Coming back into the city after my night on the coast, I stopped at the Marin Headlands and got this shot of the Golden Gate Bridge.

The disc golf course was FREE and Awesome. Lots of tree obstacles.

I wandered into the Botanical Gardens after a tasty meal at Gratitude Cafe #2.

Pretty purple flowers.

Got this angle on the Bay Bridge when I ventured into DOWNTOWN to pick Heidi up from work.

I'd hoped to actually take a tour of the ROCK, but this shot from the Marina is the closest I got to Alcatraz.

After getting my meal dropped in my lap at ALIVE, we hiked out to the Sea Organ. It wasn't playing much of a tune, but was cool to see in person.

This is the spot of the recent Brian ANDERSON skateboard mag cover. I went down there

to take the BART into downtown from the mission.

The underground BART station.

The GONZ gap was right here back in the 90's

I went up to Coit Tower for my first time. Most of the killer views were obstructed by vegetation, but it was still sweet to be there.

Heidi explains the views. "It'll be better from down there!"

So many damned stairs to get up there... as always it was easier going down.

Brent Atchley was lurking at Pier 7. Looks sorta skateable.

Wierd beards! We went to an art opening that showcased photos of eccentric beards.

Saturday morning Heidi and I packed the car and drove to ORR Hot Springs for a camping mission. Again.. no cameras..  It was in a idealic setting and the the camp spot was 3 feet from a bubbling creek. We soaked and soaked, then assembled food in the communal kitchen. Right after we ate, I ran into a couple who had the most amazing RAW meal before them. I inquired and they let me sample everything. We bonded magnificiently.
Soaked some more as it got dark, then it was to the tent.  I slept great with the
stream noises soothing my soul. I was up at dawn and right to the hot pools. I overdid it and barfed.  Took some time out and ate breakfast....watched the deer...enjoyed the beautiful setting....
We packed up the camp and soaked one last time...made some lunch and drove back to SF.

From there it was off to collect Kenny in Santa Cruz.

Reunion dinner at Saturn Cafe in Santa Cruz.

Kenny on the short hike up to LAS CRUCES hot spring.

It was my first time to Las Cruces, but it won't be the last....
This fella told us that the road to the BIG CALIENTE hot springs near Santa Barbara was washed out....so we opted out of attempting that adventure. Southbound and down we got home to SD by 2:30 on MONDAY.
Saturday, March 21, 2009
I went to a PEACE RALLY and MARCH on Sat the 21st.... Twas the 6th year anniversary of the USA's invasion into and occupation of IRAQ.
SHOCKING to believe it's already been 6 years and there is no end in sight.

I picked up a huge PEACE sign flag and crossed the street roughly 50 times between 1and2pm.  At 2pm, the MARCH began eastbound on UNIVERSITY.

Here we are in front of Taste of Thai.

Crossing 6th Ave.... Yes we had a huge police escort and took up 1 lane of UNIVERSITY. The crowd was at least 2 blocks long and growing.

Young and old, people of all nationalities came out to support PEACE/

March and march and march we did.

Took a right turn on PARK BLVD and headed to the WAR memorial where the speakers and tablers were set up...

Photobucket
There were several eye opening speakers, the most notable was CINDY SHEEHAN. If you recall she lost her son, CASEY, in Iraq, and proceeded to camp out in CRAWFORD, TX, to try to get GEORGE BUSH to explain his actions....

I'm really joyful that I participated! more to come...

Thank you, BRUCE for tipping us off about this RAGING event. For the last 6 years there has been a Guacamole cook off in BALBOA PARK. The event raises money for athletes in the special olympics from what I gathered. Klich and I raced to BALBOA and were bummin at the parking, we drove around and took to some restricted roadway...found the building, then miraculously, a spot opened in front of us. We ran to the building...

The Balboa Park Club Ballroom.

Once inside, there were claims that the guacamole was running out... OH MY.  we made out way directly inside....I was overjoyed by the scale of the event..  there must have been 40 entrants and we started making our way around to each contestant.

This lady made a fine GUAC and wasn't afraid to spoon some directly onto our chips.... Most of the LAW ENFORCEMENT tables wouldn't play by our rules.
SHINE THEM....

KLICH cleaned this lady out.  She had some cute trinkets......

Lots of folks dressed up!

We made 3 laps around the ballroom sampling here and there before the FINALS set the stage.

The H&B Guac Shac was my odds on favorite, but they didn't make it to the finals.

9 contestants over 3 categories were picked for the finals. They had these stock ingredients to work w/ and 12 minutes to make a batch for the judges...

Of those in the finals, we were fans of Captn COOK, whose secret ingredient was a grapefruit, instead of the traditional lime or lemon.

Things got hectic and we were able to pick up some pointers as we watched the batches take form.

These old fellas took 1st in the open division.

Sadly the CAPT got beat by these turkeys.....

The CAPTn and her kids were great sports and were just happy to make the finals..... and they were very kind and generous and didn't put up a fight while KLICH and I finished off their batch..... BEST IN MY BOOK>

Started out the day with a drive into the Orange Curtain to visit with Illya over a meal.

He told me all about POINT BREAK LIVE over Native Foods and a friendly game of DOMINOs.

On my way south I skated both the new Oceanside parks. I went to the newer one first and saw Mario and Svitak cruising about.

Both parks were packed.
At the older park, I ran into Mark Liscak and his new dog, THRASHER.

Lance Conklin talks covert talk to Sturt.

Both parks are well built and fun. I'll be back with the fellas perferably on a weekday morning...

I stopped in on Crispin at ALLIED, then made my way out to RAMONA...

for Mike Burnett's Birthday ramp jam.

The Birthday BOY ollied the channel..... also did crailslides, indy nosepicks on the extensions and assorted grinds.

Snacks was surprised he was able to find his pads.

Is it a tailgrab to fakie or a fakie ollie lien to tail?  Emag was handling it.

Bucky learned a new trick.  Al Losi grinder!

And then there was SESSIONS... fs nosegrinder, no hands MA!

I padded up and did some kickturns, but wasn't feelin the drop in. I kicked it w/ Sinclair all afternoon after he broke his board on his 1st drop in of the day.

It's almost watermelon season!

Sunny, but windy.  Kate slept for a long time, so I rode the bike in search of a printer cable. I had hope that Kim had the one I needed...  NOPE. Rode further to RADIO SHACK and found the one.  Thought about MANDARIN and Randy, but kept riding home. Stopped and nabbed an avocado at GALA, then proceeded home to make a glorious tofu/avo sandwich.  Then I hit the phones.....sold a fair amount of MIND FIELD's.  Worked and worked and worked so thoroughly until my back was hurting. Once Kate returned home from a day of errands and once UPS had collected the days orders, I pitched Kate the idea of a soak.  Her eyes lit up, and soak we did. While soaking, we made a plan.
Drive to UPAS and 30th. Walk to the NP farmer's market. Once there, I was able to hand off my mushroom tins, bought some colored potatos, and got a deal on 5 massive avos. BofA for Kate. Saw a newly renovated restaurant front and stopped in the skate shop. Kate's mom is visiting in MARCH and Kate really wants to take her to the desert shop so we went in to investigate. Tiramazu? She was psyched, but we moved on towards our dinner. One more pit stop at the new LONGBOARD store..... and the remaining walk to VEGnOUT. Kate and I both got new sandwiches and I had been dreaming of a COCONUT juice. Gerardo was there and we rapped about events of tomorrow. Our sandwiches arrived and we chowed down. DELICIOUSNESS@!@!

Brian arrived around 8:15 and Steve and he and I chatted and chatted. I suggested doing some kareoke and Brian was game, Steve was not.  The scene at GILLY's wasn't as i feared. WE both got in songs right away. Night Ranger was under my belt before VIOLA even arrived.

Brian belts out some Neil Diamond

I did SHAKE IT by Eddie Money and in the middle of this wailer, in walks Troy and his wife. He was stunned to see me. Brian reigned on the billards table. Viola and I did the Bonnie Tyler duet.... is it from FOOTLOOSE, I think so...
3 songs for all of us. Maria never showed...  back home and in bed by 11:20pm.

The next morning I was up early, DUH. Brian slept till a little after 8. He came prepared w/ his sleeping bag so he didn't freeze in the icebox. We walked up the BIG KITCHEN and Judy the Beauty took our orders. Steve showed up mid breakfast for a pancake and we all walked back together....

Brian works on the painting, round 2.

Steve landed his 1st frontside flip on the tramp and came in to share. Brian was stoked to hear we have a tramp.....

Steve gets the assist from Brian.

kickflip from our guest.

Brian used to live in Hillcrest in the 90s and had good memories of skating the fountain area in Balboa Park, so that spot was 1st on the list....once the skating began. Classy nose manny.

Klich busted his ass trying this trebomb. Didn't get it before we got the boot.

We moved over to my favorite Hillcrest spot on 5th and University.

Brian got behind the camera and clicked these nosebonks..

B of A was next. Klichlip up the double sided ledge.

MC manny spot was last on the list.

Steve got a switch boardslide rock over.

I never thought about a wallride here. Brian did.

Slappy transfer...

Again, so so close on this KLICHflip.

Brian had to hit the highway so we bailed..... But then Klich came over w/ DREA and made dinner..... I don't even know what to call it.  It needs a name..
components..... cornbread, tofu, and gravy.. so rich, so amazing...thanks chris....

VALENTINEs' mini ramp madness tomorrow!!!!

The CHE CAFE was responsible for bringing Ian to campus to speak.

Gabe was responsible for informing me about the op.

I've looked up to him for so many years. I've seen him perform in Fugazi several times. And now I've participated in an intimate evening of question and answers with Ian Mackaye.

And somehow I didn't take a picture of The Stranger's brother, Al. He met us for the event. It was also sweet seeing Chris Center there randomly. Miki Vuckovich, too.

Ian was on a skateboard 3 weeks ago, thought about it that morning, and still had the skateboard that is on the cover of the SALAD DAYS 7". and he's still drug and alcohol free.

This event was everything I ever dreamed of as a vert starved teenager in Kansas in the late 80's. NO jocks, no competition, just ripping at your own rate and FUCKING FUN. I am so so grateful that I made the drive out there both days...

Friday I went with Oaks and Gabe and didn't get my camera out. Highlights were definitely seeing Wade Speyer, Maximum Schaaf, and Hewitt skate. I was so hyped on the experience that I told everyone I knew who would appreciate it and came back the next day alone!

Ben Schroeder is an all time favorite. He wasn't having an ON day. Bail after bail, but it was still exciting....

So sick to see Christian back on a vert ramp. He was blasting!

Duane Peters killed it before his band played!

I've always been a fan of Brian Howard's smooth and effortless style. Here he ollies the channel to backside smither!

Danny Way was there. He took a few mild runs on Jake Brown's board.

The man with the plan. Darren Navarette throws up a method to fakie. I hope he nabbed that award.

Eddie Reatigui tailblocks the extension.

I had to ask Ed Dominick who this guy was. Ripping so hard on complex inverts both days. East Coaster... Dan Tag, channel hopping eggplant!

Hamnuckle was on the scene. Burnett's pending baby kept him away. And of course a classy shot of Preston.

Brewtality coming soon.

Lots of random heavyweights were milling about. Haslam and Duffy here. I recall seeing Rudy Johnson, Rick Howard, Kristian Svitak, Nick Trapasso, and more.

Jake Brown spins the tailgrab 540.

Grosso tweaked this Smithvert.

Max Schaaf was lighting it up. Highspeed backlip.

Matt Moffat couldn't be stopped. Smith grind. But he had backlipslides over the channel as well as huge seatbelt airs that made Remy proud.

Remy rages through a backside smith grind on the extension.

Nolan Johnson was holding his own with the big boys.

Pat Ngoho started out the day with a barbie doll taped down to the front of his board. Classy backside air.

Robbie Russo took a run here and there. Tailgrab frontside smith grind.

Zarosh was down to skate as always.

Ben Raybourn showed up and blew everyone away. Padless 540's, fakie to fakie 540's, backside 360 judo's over the channel, the bonedrecht, etc....this 16 y/o kid had every veteran in the joint hooting and hollering.

Big tip of the hat to Darren and Lance Conklin along w/ all the bands, Creature, Indy, Vox, Thrasher, etc. It was so incredibly epic!
Sunday, October 12, 2008
It all began Saturday around noontime. Gabe & Klich came over for the EDGEMONT premiere of The Beauty and the Beast. Yes, it's good and plenty comical.
Gabe was agreeable to riding bikes to Hillcrest for free Chipotle burritos so we set out....

Getting up Edgemont is always a challenge. Especially for a gent who hasn't been on a bike since the sixth grade.

Plus Gabe got stuck with the girl's bicycle and was not interested in learning how to use the gears.

Look MA, no hands.

Getting the bird in Hillcrest.

Time to eat.

We met Jeffrey and Em and Gabe was soon eating all the leftovers.

The good bite from the self proclaimed GOODEATER>

Over the last bites, I was able to get Klich to wager a NEWCASTLE to Gabe if he could land 3 nosebonk variations in 9 tries.

He landed the basic bonk 1st try, but spent his next 8 tries on the backside 180 bonk. this was his closest attempt. Did I mention he had to ride Jeffrey's twig?

Klich gave it 1 go as did I, we failed.

Jeffrey ollied it no prob, then proceeded to learn under our watchful eyes.

Nearly eaten on his 6th attempt.

I have seen Jeffrey in shorts before, but this blatant plumber's crack was really out of the ordinary.

Jeffrey conquers the elusive nosebonk.

Klich was feeling adventurous so he went for a little jump...

Just a little repair work was needed after the safe dismount.

On the ride home we were cleared for a BOB Green visit

It was Gabe's first time up on the veranda. No Juggle Juice, but ICED COFFEE was served.

I gathered some things, the fellas took off, and I headed up to Irvine to see Gorilla Biscuits for the second time in 2 years.

When you're sick of trying, how can you expect to succeed. I can't recall my first failure and I'll forget this one too....over time......

My true compassion is for all living things and not just the ones who are cute so I do what I can. I wanna save lives and I've got a plan!

Stage dives make me feel more alive, than coded messages and slowed down songs!

I had my doubts about the payoff of making the effort to drive up there and wait around for the show to start...  BUT I'm so happy to report the PAYOFF was epic.

And tonight in the light of what I witnessed and in honor of The STRANGER... Edgemont presents the AMERICAN HARDCORE viewing....8pm!

Many friends, donuts, and IDA drew me to Portland and Seattle during the middle of September.

When I got off the plane on Thursday morning, I took the mAX train into the city. From there I skated to Voodoo Too.
My first bite of what would turn into many more donuts to come.

Fudge picked me up from Voodoo and after a brief stop at his pad, we picked up Justin Hocking and went to Burnside.

Fudge - ripping - Burnside - double transfer.

After skating we grabbed lunch at Paradox Cafe.

After checking out CAL SKATE and meeting Howard, we got directions to the new Gabriel Skatepark

We drove out to the river and saw several breathtaking waterfalls.
That water was COLD!

On the drive back into town we stopped by Cal's Pharmacy/Department of Skateboarding where I met my contact, Bird!

We missed the Michael Burnett photo show by a month, this month it's Jai Tanju.

Shrunken Head Mike.

We picked up Antonia and went to NUTSHELL for dinner. Bigfoot had just been up and painted all the signage.

After dinner we stopped back by Voodoo to end the night. Fudge got the Bacon Maple bar.

Juan met me bright and early for tofu scramble at the Paradox Cafe.

Juan and I rode bicycles to his house to see Sabine.

Check out this selection from MIGHTY O's!

This is how they begin life.

Marshall met me at MIGHTY's, had a donut, then took me on a tour of the MANIK HQ, then we had a skate at Innerspace Skatepark.

I bounced to meet Coleen at her coffee joint.

Bobby and I rolled up to Lower Woodland where we met Eric G for a skate.

Eric G - light on his feet - Lower Woodland.

Steven Reeves showed up.

Had dinner with Eric at Bamboo Curtain.

Soundcheck.
The real deal.... IDA in Seattle.

The show was right at the base of the Space Needle.

I slept on Marshall's couch and hung with CHUNK in the middle of the night.
Chunk and I before I took off early.

Marginal Way Skatepark at 8am. It's gnarly anytime of the day.

Battleground Skatepark is epic.

On my drive back into Portland I made my way to Veganopolis for brunch. They served up a delicious mac and cheese.

Charmaine grows lots of stuff in her garden. Here I sample a strawberry!

After all the hype about voodoo and Mighty O's, turns out I liked the donunt from Sweet Pea the best.

Fudge and I hooked up to go to the Glenhaven Skatepark where we had a surprise guest.

Mikendo and the Ezekiel team were doing a BBQ.

I grabbed a burrito at Laughing Planet before the showing. I really wanted to see this movie, mainly because of....

Charmaine met me at the movie and then took me by her new art studio.

Kristina had me over for some hangout time and a coconut juice. We went out to see BURN AFTER READING.

Juan and I went to see this 1979 Jeff Bridges movie called WINTER KILLS. intrigue, suspense, great acting, all in a rundown theater where you could be drinking a beer.

Monday morning Fudge and I started the day at West Linn. Floater over the hip. This is where Wilburn has the crazy follow filmer lines.

Tigard is sick but was infested with bikers.

Lunch break and It's a Beautiful Pizza.

Fudge got me off my ass after the pizza and we took it to Burnside again. I'm glad we went because it was sick seeing Chet skate up to the park and get down to business.

KB had me over for dinner before the IDA show. Thanks, darling!

IDA my last night in Portland.

This is the dozen I brought back on the plane for the pals back in San Diego.

I actually bought 13 and thought it would be fun to eat one miles in the sky!

Saturday, September 27, 2008
First off this trip took place Aug 25-Sept 1st. I'm ashamed it's taken me this long to get to the blog. We were supposed to go to the Havasupai Indian Reservation to see the 3 insane waterfalls, but the week before a dam broke and flooded the entire region. So we'll have to do that section of the Grand Canyon next year.
We drove up to LA on Monday and before leaving we consulted ROADSIDE AMERICA's website and found some wild places to visit on the way into LA.

Par for the course. Native Foods was first stop.
Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich remains....

This tower was built in the 20's and is undergoing renovations now. In the ghetto of Watts.

The Coca Cola office building looks like an oceanliner.

While making our way to LA BREA TAR PITS we drove past this amazing skate spot. You might recognize it from Future Primitive or First & Hope.

Last Action Hero, anyone?

Maxing the relaxing in the park near the pits.

Kate in a tree.

Kate on a sloth.

Met Mike Y at RFD. Great seeing you, Mike. Pokez is calling you!

Tried to get Patty to go see IDA with us, but she had homework. Bear was standoffish with Kate and I.

Kate and I were both exhausted from a long day, but I was glad to see IDA again.

TUESDAY
I rustled Kate from her slumber at 5am and we beat traffic heading out of LA.
Anytime I'm in Vegas from here on out, I'm getting an apple fritter from Ronald's.
After the donut purchases, I made a pact with Kate not to buy any fast food for the rest of the trip.
Banana & PB & J followed most everyday.

The north rim of the Grand Canyon.
We hit an unusually brief hail storm exiting the Grand Canyon. We passed the Vermillion Cliffs and wound up at the....

The mighty Glen Canyon dam that backs up Lake Powell.

Thanks to a tip from a local we camped at Lone Rock. Setting up camp after a swim in the lake with tumbleweeds and Germans.

WEDNESDAY
Kate peers into Lake Powell at dawn.

Kate plays Twister at the FOUR CORNERS.

This lady served me FRYBREAD with cinnamon and powdered sugar on top at the FOUR CORNERS.

I'd wanted to go to MESA VERDE since I was a kid. This is Cliff Palace.
This is Spruce Tree House.
This is Kate entering a holy sanctum.

We drove past our camp spot and were approaching Pagosa Springs. I knew there were hot springs in the town, but they are commercial ones... the kind I normally shy away from. But we called and checked it out and made a tough decision to shell out some dough for a room. TOTALLY WORTH IT!
Our first view of Pagosa Hot Springs resort.

We soaked in most all of the 18 soaking pools into the night.

THURSDAY
I did dawn patrol and had amazing views..

The across the river shot.

This was my fav, the waterfall pool. better than jacuzzi jets.

Kate got in the Lobster Pot the night before. I could only put my toe in.

This was shot from near the manager's office at the grocery store.

We stopped to peek at Treasure Falls on Wolf Creek Pass.

Kate was tripping on the 85 octane gasoline in Colorado.

I was so psyched to be at Valley View Hot Springs.

Kate enjoys a tall glass of grape juice on the back porch of OAK HOUSE while watching deer mill about.

This cat killed a bird and pranced it into OAK HOUSE for all to see.

We did the hike up to the old Orient Mine where the Mexican wingtailed bats spend their summer.
That's 500,000 bats flying from the cave out over the valley to feed.

FRIDAY
Kicking it at the party pool after dawn patrol in the waterfall pool.

I love this shot of Kate in front of our cabin, Cedar House.

Once Kate was up we hiked up to the TOP pools and a fellow soaker took our picture.

Total SCAM. Avoid the Royal Gorge Bridge and theme park.

This guy was jamming on the pizza guitar in Canon City.

Sessions and Meg welcome us to their home after being rained out at the Seven Sisters waterfall in Colorado Springs.

While in Pagosa Springs Steve Rodriguez from 5boro called about catalogs. When I told him I was in Colorado, he was curious if we were in Boulder. Nope, but soon. He proceeded to tell me about his sister's restaurant there.
Meet Tiffany. She treated us to a mega meal at her spot, the terrace maya in north boulder. Thanks again!!!!

We went and got ice cream on the Hill and up to the CITY VIEW spot where Roth got hitched.
Then we had a screening of the BOULDER DICKS film from the late 90's.

SATURDAY
I did some final writing in the book before marching it over to Illya's.

As I feared Illya was a little grumpy that we got him up at 8am. I was kind and waited til 8, we could have been there at 6:30.

I took Kate on a tour of Ft Collins that included stops at Big City Burrito....

Seeing Andy at the Skateboard Market. Posing here with the Michael Burnett DVS shoe on sale.

On the drive back from the FORT, we vectored in on Sessions location and met him at a place we'll call the TUBBS.
We caught Jesus swimming there as we walked up on it.

Kate looking down the river bed.

Solo sitdown. It was freezing.

Sessions and I jumped off holding hands.

Skated the new Brighton Skatepark with Sessions in the afternoon. Windy as hell, but that didn't stop him from doing double deathbox stand up grinds.

Kate loves dinosaurs, so I surprised her with a trip to DINOSAUR RIDGE>

We then made it to the Peter's clan residence in Littleton for Matt's Birthday party. I was able to see the whole tribe. Thanks for making the effort to come over Bridgett!

We slept at RORI and JAKE's in downtown Denver that night.

SUNDAY
Was able to help Rori put together a storage bin bright and early Sunday morning.

Kate loved Hanging Lake.
And Spouting ROck.

I could have gone further.

Scaring the Mormons with a mighty cannonball!

Pool 2 at Meadow. I never knew about it until this trip.

And there is even a pool 3, but that's where the cows hang out, so we didn't go in.

Our way back into Las Vegas, we knew Ronald's was going to be closed, but we had a slim hope that we could dumpster a bag full of delicious donuts. That was not the case.

Talker put us up in VEGAS. This is his toy room. You guessed it, he does go to COMICON every year.
He even has the Iron Maiden EDDIE dolls.
We slept for a bit, but I soon dragged Kate out of bed at 3 in the morning and had her home by 8am.

I cut my meager beard into a furry donut just for kate. On our way to the Big Kitchen for a hearty breakfast after a long and wonderous road trip. Kate is a real trooper!
