As others before me, I've skipped instrumentals and seasonal music.
Put your player on shuffle. The first lines of the first twenty songs that come up are your "poem/song". The 21st line is the title.
I Love the Time and In Between
When I'm done with thinking, then I'm done with you High, higher than the sun My name is Luka My young love said to me, "My mother won't mind
There are parts of me he'll never know, Well, I drove home late last evening I'm tuggin' at my hair When I was a little girl I had a rag doll
I'm gonna be a mighty king Life's just a game we all wanna win It's time for Animaniacs Young Herc' was mortal now
Where are the simple joys of maidenhood? Where do you think you're going? I bring you a song In the desert of my dreams I saw you there
Just do your thing Midnight, our sons and daughters He bought me the fur mink five winters ago As far as the eyes can see,
It lacks the charm that others' poems have had, but I can't stop laughing at the mix of songs (I used my entire music collection. I should try it again with my personal playlist.)
And now...I get to go back to cleaning my room. I've actually made some serious progress this afternoon...

Because of my current schedule, I don't always get to do things when I would normally do them.
Like walk.
And for some reason, today I have a big sign over my head that reads: Please talk to me!!!
A neighbor stopped me for probably half an hour to talk about work and cats. Then a (very nice, non-pushy) pair of Elders stopped me for another twenty minutes. All very pleasant people, but I really just wanted to walk, come home, have lunch, and get some work done...
*sigh*

This is probably more a post for my real blog, but...well...I'm dodging the novel after adding just over 1,000 words to it (in the time span of roughly forty-five minutes, a new record for me with regards to this rewrite), and I'm accidentally introducing someone to Labyrinth. Later, I'll get to introduce her to Willow. (I don't know what you're talking about. I am not a fantasy junkie. Not at all.)
She walked in about fifteen minutes into Labyrinth and asked for a summary. I gave her one...that relied as much on information from the novel based on the movie as the first fifteen minutes of the movie themself. I've really had to fight to not fill in the blanks throughout the movie.
And it really is funny that the gulf is even there. The movie really focused tightly on Sarah and her maturing through her quest to rescue her brother. The novel showed what motivated Sarah, and makes the graphic novel series absolutely hilarious. It's amazing Sarah encourages Toby's acting given how he came into her life...but you'd never know that from just watching the movie. You'd just assume he was following in his half-sister's footsteps.
The was a novel written for Willow, but it wasn't nearly as interesting in the supplementary information department. In fact, the most I remember that I wish had come up somehow in the movie was Willow and Meegosh making fun of Burglekutt after the High Lord Alwin didn't pick Willow as his apprentice. I won't feel so compelled to add in things.
I think I may play a game for a bit, and then go back to my story. Maybe I can actually get ahead for tomorrow. That would make me happy.

This week has been really good to me from a personal projects perspective. I submitted roughly 14,000 words for wriye verification on Tuesday, and am at just over 18,000 (of the 75,000 I was going to write this year). I cleaned up all of my eHow articles, so I shouldn't get any more notes about my articles being pulled for not meeting the new (and vague) standards. And I am back to working on Dead Bunny's book.
In fact, the only thing keeping me from racing ahead on Dead Bunny's to-do list is the fact it's not 6:00 on a Friday like my mind thinks it is. It's actually 8:30 on a Thursday like my stomach and blood sugar think it is.
It's been a while since I worked myself into a near crash.
And technically, I need to work on the novel and try to figure out tomorrow's blog post (because it didn't get written yesterday because I didn't grab what I needed when the inciting incident happened two weeks ago).
And I am three hours into a lovely ninety-three hour hiatus from my job. I like this idea. I like it a lot. I regret that I won't get it next weekend (but excited I'll get it the week after that. I really should just take that Thursday off and go for nearly a week off work, but I don't think that would go over so well.)
Now if I can keep up the momentum after dinner, I'll be giddy with glee.

The temperature here right now is half today's high back home.
We did see summer briefly earlier in the month, but right now, it's cool outside. The natives hate me because I'm reveling in it.
I'm sitting here eating dinner, debating making something nice and warm to drink, waiting to find out if there are actually plans tomorrow, trying to make myself write, and waiting for Burn Notice and The Fashion Show.
I've realized that for the first time in a long time, I'm not sitting here thankful my work week is over. I'm not excited that it's the weekend (although I am excited about going to the symphony tomorrow). In fact, I feel a certain sense of dread. I want tomorrow to go slowly, and the rest of the weekend to be over and done with quickly. It's not even that I suddenly like my job again...my down time has become just as bad...
I should go do something...

I have now finally finished pulling out everything that wasn't clothes, luggage, or shelving from my closet. I have, layer by gory layer, finally finished excavating my closet...to a certain extent, anyway. God only knows what's in some of these bags and boxes. I'm scared. I'm not afraid to admit it. Some ancient curse might be waiting to spring as soon as I open one of those boxes.
Amazingly, most of what I pulled out fit into the blank spaces of my shelving unit. This tells me that I really needed to do this (and that I need to put everything back into the closet more efficiently).
It's kind of weird what was just thrown in there, too. I found a couple of pieces of garb (including my lovely work-to-court dress I made right before I quit Amtgard). I found most of the birthday cards my camp kids made for my thirtieth birthday (a lovely find 32 days before my thirty-fourth birthday). Those kids were really creative, and those cards really need to be scanned into my student art files.
So now, I get to comb back through everything and figure out how to best store it so the things I don't need but can't let go are safely stowed out of the way, everything I need but only use periodically is stowed out of the way but still at hand, and everything I have no desire to see ever again actually leaves. And I still haven't decided what I want to use to store things. That
will also slow me down while my inner curator argues with my inner
simplicity guru.
This will be interesting. I'm sure there are things in the pile that haven't been seen or thought about in four years. And there's at least one bag of Science Adventures projects. That'll slow me down for sure. (Science, like math, has the best toys!)
And of course, when I started pulling everything out of the closet last month, I told myself I was going to have everything cleaned out and reorganized back into the closet before Fruits Basket 23 comes out. If that happens, it will be a miracle. In fact, if this is all cleaned up by my birthday, it'll be a miracle.

I'm sitting here in a cool hat and listening to an old G.I. Joe episode. My inner ten year old is happy. (Perhaps I can coax her into writing for me since her mood is infinitely better than my own.)
My mom sent me a care package full of snacks, the Fiesta court, and a cool hat. I love hats. I really do. And I don't wear them often enough. And I still want one that says "Director" in script for when I'm working on Dead Bunny or out taking pictures. Heh.
And this hat may not coordinate with my new bag. I'll need to figure out how to get around that...
I discovered a few months ago that Sigma Six was renamed and given to Kabillion. It confused me, but I was getting those episodes back, so I wasn't really willing to complain about the oddness of it all (especially since 4Kids has its own OnDemand area). Kabillion has long said the episodes were also online (I'm learning they're only partially online), so this morning I went to check it out.
What you have to understand (if you weren't around when Sigma Six launched) is that I came down rather harshly on one voice actor for not really sounding like the character he was playing. I sort of felt guilty about that after he was replaced by someone who was only marginally better. (Nothing against either man. Normally, I rather like one of them.) But I also praised someone I never thought I'd have a kind word for (Not my fault. He played three roles exceptionally well. Actually, he played six roles well, but four of them came from the original series.), but opened the door to my liking a number of his other characters. (Yes, I have been known to hold a voice actor against his own role. If you don't believe me, try watching Huntik with me.)
This morning, I finally have the chance to check a couple of other characters and am quite dismayed to find that the person cast as my favorite Joe also did a fairly good job. (Don't ask why this is dismaying. I won't respond.) I think I'm going to have to watch another pair of episodes to check the last character, but it won't matter. It's clear the utility actors had it all over the other guys as far as Sigma Six was concerned.
And now...I go back to channeling my inner ten year old...and trying to make my outer thirty-three year old do something. This'll be fun. *groan*
