Hey Guys,

I hope you're doing well :)

One of the great features of MySpace Music, is the ability to create an unlimited number of playlists, which you can then also share with your friends. There are literally millions of artists, albums and songs available to choose from, think of it as the new way to create those old-skool mixtapes you use to do for your friends!

So I'm going to show you, how you can make your very own Playlist right here on MySpace Music.

CREATING YOUR PLAYLIST

1. To begin creating playlists, first access the MySpace Music homepage here: http://music.myspace.com or click on the word Music in the navigation bar at the very top of this page.

2. Click the link 'My Music', which will take you here: http://music.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music.mymusic

3. To create your first playlist, click the 'Create Playlist' link on the left hand side of the 'My Music' page. The Create Playlist Tab will look like this:

MySpace Music
4. After clicking 'Create Playlist', you will be prompted to choose a name, description, and privacy setting for your new playlist. Enter the desired details and settings in the pop-up box provided, which will look like this:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
A Playlist that has the box 'Make Playlist Private' ticked will only be available to you personally when you are signed into your account. Leaving the box unchecked will allow the playlist to be public, where anyone can access it, and play back the songs within. Once you click 'Ok', your playlist will be created, and you are ready to start adding songs!

Alternatively you can 'drag-and-drop' songs into your existing playlists.

ADDING MUSIC TO YOUR PLAYLIST

1. Now that you've created a Playlist, lets add some songs to it. At the top right of the 'My Music' page, utilize the MySpace Music search to find songs you wish to add to your playlist. You may search by Artist, Song, or Album title. The search bar will appear as such:

MySpace Music

Almost all songs uploaded to MySpace.com will have Add buttons enabled, which look like this:

MySpace Music

Seen here is a search for the song 'Rock With You':

MySpace Music

2. You can also find songs listed on any artist profile, and add them to your playlist. The Add button on an artist’s music player will look slightly different and slightly smaller, but will have the same functionality.

The player Add button looks like this:
MySpace Music

3. For Example, to add the song ‘Rock With You’ by Michael Jackson directly from the artist profile, type in the artist URL into your browser address bar (In this case, www.myspace.com/michaeljackson), then click the add button next to the song you want.

MySpace Music

I hope that helps you make some awesome playlists! Next week, I'll show you how you can share them with your friends. Any questions, just leave a comment below :)

Have fun,
Julie (MySpace New Zealand)

After the tragic events in Samoa last week, a group of top New Zealand entertainers have rallied together for a massive benefit concert on Monday 19th October 2009 at the Vector Arena in Auckland.

When the Tsunami hit Samoa last week, it personally affected Scribe and Savage who lost their family villages and family members in the disaster. Along with Dawn Raid, Oscar Kightley and Ole Maiava, they rapidly organized a dream line up of top NZ musicians who had no hesitation in donating their performances to this worthy cause.

All businesses, personnel and artists have given their services for free, therefore 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Samoa.

We urge all New Zealanders to support this event to aid our fellow citizens of Samoa.

Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin dates and line ups to be announced shortly.

Hello

I know many of you MySpacers, especially bands and artists, stay in touch on the road with fans using Twitter updates, so we are really excited to announce that we’ve partnered with our friends at Twitter to make syncing between your MySpace and Twitter accounts seamless.

You can choose between 3 options:

1.     When you update your MySpace status, it automatically updates your designated Twitter account.

2.     When you update your Twitter account, it automatically updates your MySpace profile status.

3.     Updates can work in both directions.

Click HERE for more information about how to set this up. It takes about 20 seconds to set up!
