I must say for a short story this one packed a surprising punch because it was filled with so much raw emotion throughout the pages. The storyline chosen by Ms. Surbeck was a breath of fresh air to me. It was unique in every way and my heart just bled for Frankie and her husband Tanner. It was apparent they loved each other, but the car accident just tore them apart. I wanted them to discover each other again, but I knew Frankie needed to get past her new hearing disability enough to not only forgive herself, but also the man she deeply loved not so long ago. But would she continue to allow the accident to tear her relationship apart from her husband when he so dearly missed having the loving wife he did before that fateful night happened?
I found this story to be a powerhouse of mixed emotions and enduring love. I would definitely recommend it to other readers. I would love to read more from this talented author in the near future. She is a new author that I happened to stumble upon and I am extremely happy that I did! You will find that it is a short story, but one that contains a very strong message of hope, faith and enduring love. It’s a must have for any library!

I know you've been wondering where I have been. Besides the family horrors and the loss of life, I have been working on a couple stories to hopefully bring to the store shelves soon. Pleased to announce that the newly edited, expanded and juiced up She Blinded Me With Science Fiction will be on sale THIS WEEK from Samhain Publishing. It's got a great new cover and the story is still a classic. Make sure you check it out. When I haven't been writing or dealing with the more delicate side of life I have been blessed to be actively involved - as in Co-chairing - the 2009 Romancing The Rockies Conference. It's May 1,2 and let me tell you we have show stoppers coming to Denver, Colorado for this magnificent conference. Great agents and editors, Sue Grimshaw with Borders is coming, and for speakers! Sherrilyn Kenyon, Mary O'Gara, and Dianna Love Snell are are keynote speakers. Melissa Schroeder, Jeff Strand, Lynne Hansen, Margret Huth, Kathy Williams, Lee Loftland are just some of the talent we have coming. If you have been looking for a great conference to attend. Great Bang for your buck. This is it!

SUDDEN FALL: YADDERWAL, BALANCE BOOK 1 KALLY JO SURBECK Fantasy Romance Samhain Publishing and Amazon.com Rated for Violence Available now
Rating: 5 Enchantments
Lets meet our heroine Wyen, a Princess not like other Princesses for she must find her true love if her kingdom is to survive. Many men have been paraded before her but she must have the only one destined to have her body and soul. There is only one problem - she has only met him in her dreams. Can he be real? And can she find him in time?
Now for our hero Yestin. He has only seen Wyen in her dreams. He knows she is out there somewhere. But can he find her in time? The powers that be will not let him go to her in the flesh or force her choice in any way. Will she realize in time that he is more than a dream and will she heed the call of his heart?
This is the kind of book dreams are made of. A young princess creating her own dream world. To find the man of her dreams. Is he real or is he a figment of her imagination? And will she find the truth before it is too late? Or will her kingdom be destroyed by her inaction and the deception of one she has trusted since she has been a child?
This story brings back dream I had as a young girl. A fantasy world any girl or woman could wish for. This author combines the childlike dreams of young girls with the passions of young women. A wish for a happily ever after that always touches the heart. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series.
This author has a love for books since a young girl and has spent many hours furthering her education. She also believes in true love but as yet has not found hers. But the future is bright and reaching for this young author.

Ms. Surbeck takes the reader on another delightful journey of love in her fabulous Yadderwal. Whispered Promise introduces one to new characters as marvelously fascinating as those from Sudden Fall who are revisited. She expands the worlds of Yadderwal to include a third and maintains the feeling of a complete whole as this new facet is introduced and explored.
Prepare yourself to laugh and cry as your run the gamut of emotions from despair to utter joy. With this offering, Ms. Surbeck has solidified her position as a true talent in the romantic fantasy genre. Congratulations on creating a sequel worthy of being hidden in my secret stash of "written addictions" along with its predecessor.
5 Stars, Keely ecataromance

Whispered Promise is the second book in the Yadderwal Balance Series. It is a sweet love story of two soulmates uniting for the first time outside the realm of reality. The obstacles they have to endure make their union real. Ms. Surbeck creates a fantastic world complete with royals, peasants, thieves and fairies. She takes you on an adventure-filled journey that you never want to end.

Whispered Promise: Book II Yadderwal Balance is an exceptional continuation to the world readers first visited in Sudden Fall. The strength of this story enables it to be read as a single work, yet once readers experience this fantasy realm, they will be hard pressed to resist any book in this series. Kally Jo Surbeck melds the existent realities of the Dream World, Yadderwal, and the Ether World into a creation that flows with imagery and feeling. As Fionn sets off to save Tannah, the author treats readers to elegant prose and beautiful imagery. If it is possible to make characters live through words, Kally has done so. The words seem to flow not as written text for the reader, but as a recounting of another place and time as seen and felt by the main characters. So easily does she draw you into the world she has created that this reader lost all track of time. This is a poignant, romantic tale, that sees Fionn and Tannah overcoming much in their quest to not only survive but to thrive and thwart those that would destroy the purest part of us all. Ms. Surbeck does well in balancing the darker facets of the plot with lighter moments and sparks of romantic hope that blends to offer readers a work that is definitely a recommended read. Hopefully we will be seeing more from this series.

Morning! Hope you are all having a fabulous Saturday - wherever this little note finds you. As most of you know, I am really stoked about the Yadderwal Series coming together as it is. Yes, it's still a 5 book concept. We'll see if I can pull it off, write it, and get it out there to you. But for right now we have the first two books doing great - available in e-format and now in print with gorgeous covers from Christine Clave. I think she did such a great job oh whismical fantasy while staying true to the stories and the characters.
You say "That's nice Kally, but what's that got to do with what's going on?" Thanks for asking.
It's been a pretty rough couple of years hear and in partiular the posting has dwindled a bit over the past year. So, I've been thinking. I think we should do a Yadderwal weekend. Right here. Right now. So we are offically throwing a little party that will run until Sunday night 7 pm MST. We'll have some contests. I'll be posting reviews. If you have read either of the books, I'd love to have your reviews. Now remember to think them out. Never know where you might see them again. I would love to have them posted at Amazon.com - let folks know how much you do love the series and if you want more. There will be excerpts and conversation about books in the pipeline. I think it would be pretty cool to see what you think about the characters and their trials and tribulations.
What do you think? You in? A weekend Yadderwal Party? Tell your friends if you think they might be interested. Ready...set... start!
Kally ::::looking forward to play:::
