I normally dont do this because I dont like when others push religious views on to me.... but this passage personally spoke to me and really connects with whats going on with me in life right now. So I thought for me to begin my journey I would let my friends in on my mind... So here is a taste of my spritual journey that I live.
Sin is the refusal of the human to be who we are-Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel
If we say we can only experience a little good, then we shall experience but the little good.- The Science of the Mind page 37
Ernest Holmes reminds us there is no reason we should stop accepting more and more good. Life is limitless. When we stop growing mentally we cease allowing more good into our lives. We need to honor life, realizing that it is a great gift that we get to shape and mold into what we wish to become. However nothing happens by accident. We need to do our spiritual work, lest we wind up living someone else's dream.
Lily Tomlin once said, "I always wanted to be somebody. Now I see I should have been more specific." Behind the humor is a great truth. The more one knows who they are, the more comfortable they are in their skin, The more likely they are going to be able to live their own dream. When we are comfortable with who we are, we can take risks and move beyond fear. This is true because we know we are on the right path. Detours don't mean failure; they simply mean we need to recalubrate and try again.
In The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, Sogyal Rinpoche observes that in our Western Culture, we tend to keep ourselves so busy we have no time for what is really important. We never have enough time, our lives take on a bizarre momentum, and life lives us. We need to learn to live on purpose. Put Spirit first and watch the results.
So my Affirmation for today is.....
In this moment I embrace all life. I quiet myself, go within and remeber all that is important in my life. I accept all my blessings and know all is well
