I wrote last week about Lauren from 13 Moons Designs and her amazing glass jewelry.  I bought this necklace and finally have a photo.  She can make these beads in any color.  I am thinking I need some red beads - hmmm.  Merry Christmas to me!

I seem to be selling at or shopping a show every weekend this time of year so I always meet the best people.  Stefanie is a vendor at many of the shows I participate in and she is so amazingly talented!

She creates a huge variety of items from orginal paintings to various craft accessories.  I personally adore her snowmen which she paints on just about everything from tradional papers to vintage metal tubs and plates.  She uses a luscious painterly technique that goes far beyond the typical "crafty" painting evident at so many shows.

This time of year my entry is filled with her snowmen..I will post a photo soon!

Be sure to check out her site and visit one of her upcoming shows!

I was selling my everyday collection at yet another show this weekend.  I always meet such creative, fascinating people at these shows and this weekend was no exception.

I had a wonderful conversation with Lauren Bailey of Thirteen Moons Designs.  She creates stunning lampwork glass beads which she uses in a variety of hand-crafted items.  I purchased several items which I think represent her breadth of talent.  I picked up a silver chain necklace with yellow glass beads, a bookmark with one of her creations dangling freely and a cocktail drink stirrer!

I am now regretting not picking up one of her oh so unique leaf pendants, like the one below - I think I will have to give her a call!

Be sure to check her website often as she is opening a studio in Drums, PA in Winter of 2007.  Classes will be offered as well as a Gallery opening to support the work of Pennsylvania artists!

Went to the city again on the 19th and got a chance to see the new exhibit at The Met - Cézanne to Picasso: Ambroise Vollard, Patron of the Avant-Garde.  It was a fantastic exhibit and I was most enthralled by the selections of Gaughan's work.  I had never seen any of his work in person - only in art history books in college.  The colors were so lush and rich and I am such a color gal!

The exhibit spans 5 or six rooms.  My favorite piece was Dancers at the Barre by Degas. I have such admiration for his use of color and visual weight and contrast.

If you get to the city you must see the exhibit.  Check out some highlights online here:

Working on a new design today for holiday party invitations.  The wreath artwork used here is an older one from my collection - but continues to be a favorite!
