Here's a song that comes from the "My Whole Life Is Have To" recording session. We finished it off for a special limited edition "Record Store Day" release from Road Records in Dublin back in April 2009. Well now we've given it a cool Jason Frederick cover and are "officially" releasing it. Enjoy.
Let us know what you think, on facebook, here on myspace, youtube, twitter or even old fashioned email.

Hi,
Haven't written here in a while. What's going on with Large Mound? We're still trying to nail these new songs. We have a whole heap of new songs. At the moment I'm torn between playing some gigs to hurry our asses up and finish them or just heading for the studio with what we've got. I mean, all the stuff is 99% written. A bit of studio concentration will see them finished. In the meantime I've posted another song from our most recent album "My Whole Life Is Have To", it's called "I Can't Die". That's right I CAN'T DIE!

What's new? Not nothing. We're working away on new songs. We have a load of them all about 80% finished. There's a good split between songs written by Mark and me (Anthony), about 40/60. For a while it looked like our songs were getting longer and more involved but recent songs have been more in the old short form. We have some song titles too, "You'll Never See A Dinosaur", "Rotund Iberian", "Stop", "My New Thing" as well as a load of others with titles like "the long one" and "the one that sounds like the breeders". Oh, we do have a gig coming up it's part of the "Thumped Is 10" gigs. September 12th in Dublin's Twisted Pepper venue. We'll be playing with Legion of Two which is very exciting. But before that Mark and Hugh will be playing at August's Thumped Is 10 gig with their Guided By Voices tribute band Voided By Ponces. Before that again, this weekend, The Dudley Corporation (where Mark plays bass) are playing in Galway's Roisin Dubh with Deerhoof. That's it. If you want to go rockin', come with us. a

Hello there. We put a video on our videos page last week. It's of us working on one of the new songs. This one is a pretty heavy song called Maybe Means Maybe. It's cool and we'll probably do some more of these.

Posting this for a friend of mine...
=================================================== Travelling musicians deserve great coffee! And you deserve it good and cheap, because travelling to gigs is probably the worst part of being a musician. So, if you’re gigging down Limerick way, drop into Sheelagh na Gig bookshop in Cloughjordan, Co. Tipperary, with a copy of this mail and we’ll give it to you: organic coffee, tea, herbal tea, or hot chocolate (made with organic milk), ½ price on Saturday and Sunday and FREE during the week (Tue-Fri). And expect to be tempted by our homemade cake (such as Sunshine Orange, Black Bottom Cupcakes, Marrakech Express, and Raspberry Meringue Cake), organic and fairtrade chocolates, locally made biscuits and other treats. You might even want to relax for a while and browse the books, CDs, and handmade silver and glass jewellery.
Getting there: On the N7, turn at Moneygall (you've heard of it because it's Obama's Irish ancestral home) There’s only one turn, and it’s signposted Cloughjordan. Follow the road for 10 minutes, past the train station, past the Centra, to the village green. Park at the green, cross the road, and enjoy our fantastic coffee!
Don't forget to bring a copy of this mail.
When: Sheelagh na Gig is open Tuesday and Wednesday 9.30am-5pm, Thursday and Friday 9.30am-7pm, Saturday 10am-6pm, and Sunday noon-6pm.

Here's a mailout we just sent: ______________________________
Hey friends,
You haven't heard from us in a while. We've been laying low, working on new songs, planning recording. More of that in due course but right now we'd like to draw your attention to something that's happening this weekend.
Many of you will be aware of the difficulties that Road Records (http://www.roadrecs.com) is currently going through. Road has been an amazing supporter of the independent music scene down through the years and now faces the threat of closure. This would be a massive loss to music lovers and musicians in Dublin and elsewhere. Vinny from The Jimmy Cake has organised a benefit gig and fundraiser for Road this Saturday night and it seems that with the shop's future hanging in the balance, the success or otherwise of this event is going to play a large part in what happens.
It's taking place in Andrew's Lane Theatre and boasts a pretty stellar line-up which is headed up by the fantastic Jape, who won the Choice Music prize just last week. Also playing are The Jimmy Cake, Si Schroeder, Colm Mac Con Iomaire (of The Frames) and Adrian Crowley.
Finally, contrary to what you may hear elsewhere, the opening act is not "and others" but in fact, The Large Corporation, which is an amalgamation of ourselves and our buddies, The Dudley Corporation. The doors open at 8pm and I reckon we'll be trotting onto the stage to butcher each others songs very soon after that.
Tickets can be bought online at www.tickets.ie - look for "One For The Road". Remember, even if you can't come, you can still buy a ticket .....

There are some photos from our rehearsals in the special TLC photo album. Oh and www.largemound.com is back online!
