Darling Lisa
Thank you so much for a wonderful summer season 2009 at Teatro Pereyra Ibiza.
You are a hell of a performer with a phenomenal technique and stage presence.
Seldom have we had a singer that didn't lose his/her voice doing what you did every night with the humidity and temperature changes we have in our little island but above all...seldom have we had a singer that was a team worker like you...of course, you love your job (as I said a couple of times: if you don't sing you die ha ha...) and sometimes you overdo it a bit but never nasty, egocentric and with the so common misplaced star behaviour that a lot of singers make us having to cope with.
Let there be no doubt: you will, must, shall come back to the Pereyra and repeat the Ibiza-experience.
Thanks on behalf of the many of thousands of people that you have made so happy over the last couple of months but above all, thanks from me, your friend and piano player...I'll miss you.

Hola, Bonjour, Sanibonani, Hello!
How you all doing?!
Can you believe it..s one more month of Teatro Pereyra to go...time has just flown by! Just over four months ago I packed my bags for a two-month gig abroad and then stayed and stayed...During this tiny time of my career, the amount of challenges I..ve faced and learning on or off stage have been massive. My greatest lesson has been "sharing"...like...working with the ego, learning to give, learning to take, learning to enjoy every moment, learning to improvise better and with this comes so much grace and appreciation working with everyone at Teatro Pereyra (not just the musicians!) and the different audiences with every set. I..m very happy to say the least. (Oh and I..m still working on NO EXCESS luggage weight...not quite mastered this yet!!!)
Johnson-Jay headed off a few weeks ago but during July and August we had a great deal of fun on stage...he is certainly missed, especially the amazing guitar solos ripping it up, oh and the crazy hair of course! So now on stage we have Eric-Jan Harmsen on Piano/Vocals, Rafael Garcés on Sax, Luis Garcia on Keys/Bass, Tom Worrall on Drums/Vocals and Barbara Tucker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Tucker) performs about four times a week as our featured guest singer. Our setlist of songs include; Proud Mary, Kiss, You Can Leave Your Hat On, I..ll Be There, You..ve Got A Friend, Too Hard To Handle, All Right Now, Looking Good Not Too Shabby, and so on! A real mix of 70s disco, soul, rock, pop, and our jazzy Sax man adds his fusion too. So a really fabulous mix of music and performers, each shining stars! For photo..s, footage and news flashes, join http://www.twitter.com/lisatheunissen or RSVP at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=104489774689&ref=mf#/event.php?eid=104489774689&ref=mf. You can also tune in every night via http://www.awdio.com to listen to the show.
Performing everyday has meant that I..ve really had to force my hyperactive being to completely slow down and pace myself much more. If anything, I sleep and train more now than before keeping voice, body and mind in check. The days can be pretty lonely spent like this but if I wanna have lunch with the girls, they..re only a phone call away. As well as that Tom has a secret music bar, we head to sometimes where we hang out with the locals and jam songs into the early hours of the morning (well it..s already the early hours by the time we finish our gig). Anyway, I have met wonderful friends out here and they..re very much my adopted family! Ibiza is my 3rd home :>
Now I..m starting to think about my trip to Malaysia where I..ll be based for three months performing at the G Hotel in Penang. RSVP at http://www.facebook.com/share.php?appid=2344061033&src=box&tid=124396883918&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ghotel.com.my#/event.php?eid=124396883918&ref=mf. So another journey planned, another learning curve and I am very excited, full of happy beans I am...!
A very special thank you to my family, friends and fans that have called and sent lovely messages (for my sanity), packages (for the toiletries I cannot get in Ibiza...Patrick you..re a star), and HUGE THANKS for storing my house in your loft so I could rent my flat out (Karen darling, IOU for a lifetime)! I love you and miss you all, so do pop over and say hi, whereever I am (whether via cyber space or in person) :>
Keep smiling, keep shining :>

Hi Everybody
How are you doing?!
Well, my gig out at Teatro Pereyra in Ibiza has been one of the most memorable and massive learning experiences I´ve had in my career. Performing six nights per week has taken my mindset to a new level and working with such a fab band has been even more thrilling. The stage is certainly my home, and if I ever had any doubts, well they are now gone!
So what´s life like abroad in Ibiza?! Well, I spend most of my time preparing through the day for the show each night. Sleep and training (vocally and physically) are my most essential ingredients I need to deliver the high-energy set of entertainment each night. There are four half-hour sets starting at 23:30, 00:30, 01:30 and 02:30 (Spanish timezone) and some nights we have a different audience in each set....really fascinating working with the audience in this way!
Teatro Pereyra is based in the old town of Ibiza, which is very laid back and I must say it´s pretty posh darling :> The night life is more mellow than San Antonio, but if you want to go clubbing then there are still various options to do that. My favourite thing is running/walking to the end of the port in the late afternoon and looking back at the old town which has a beautiful castle and just watching the ships roll in and out whilst ..sitting on the dock of the bay´ and then I kinda stroll back home watching the sunset. It´s pretty special out here.
I did come back to the UK for a brief visit, but Eric Harmsen extended my contract and so here I am back in the land of sunshine from 13 July until 29 August. I´m very blessed to have work in these very tough times and for those of you experiencing hard times, just hold on and keep the faith...it will all come right with changing times.
The band line up has a new dynamic as I now share my lead role with Johnson-Jay, a dear friend and superb musician I´ve worked with before back in the UK; plus Allan Christie (guitarist/vocalist); Luis Garcia (keys/bass); Rafael Garcés (saxophonist/pianist) and Tom Worrall (pianist/vocalist/drummer)! As well as that I now perform 7 nights a week and it´s about 25-30 degrees on stage...so a lot of hard work and focus required working in the hot, hot, hot heat of the night! Don´t forget the show is streamed online so you can tune in via http://http://www.awdio.com or just visit...
There have also been a lot of image changes I´ve gone through (thinner with short blonde hair!!!) and a HUGE thanks to Harmsen family, especially Beatriz, for working with me each day mentally and physically to help me reach ..higher ground´. You brought me back to my roots and I will always be ever grateful and humbled by your endless kindness in taking me under your wing.
As for my forthcoming album, I´m writing and putting it together and am also meeting the right people (can I just emphasise .. the right people´!). So my second album will happen, fear not for those that are afraid I´ve fallen into just singing covers and NOTE that singing covers is a brilliant way to uncover how songs are written, so it´s very good grounding. The one thing I´ve realised is that as a fulltime musician you need to earn a living from performing whilst writing, whilst paying bills, and I am now doing that. Being a musician is not straight forward, we have to compromise a lot of the normal things in life to be who we are. So whilst I know you love and support me, please know that I need to do this right now and it´s so good, so good, so good...singing everyday is essential for me to live, without it is like not breathing. So have no doubt I am here to stay and thank you for seeing me through so much, I´m really looking forward to the next part...I´m just one BIG smile! (By the way if you´re new to my fan club you might not understand this, but read my blogs and find out if you really wanna know...all I can say its all in the past, so no point actually going back to find out!!!)
Other than that, there are some more plans travelling and singing abroad for the rest of the year, which once I know more about I´ll let you know.
So, from sunshiny LT to you all, much love and light!
Miss T

Hola Everyone
How are you doing?!
Well, thanks to everyone following me for the last few weeks and discovering where in the world I..ve gone. For those who still don..t know what..s been happening, well...
For the last month and for the next month or so I..m based out in Ibiza doing a residency gig at Teatro Pereyra: http://www.teatropereyra.com. I..m the lead singer in the band and we play from 23:30-03:00 (Ibiza timezone), Monday to Saturday. You can tune into the show each night via http://www.awdio.com which streams our gigs or come visit and check out the show!
It is one of the most amazing experiences I..m having and loving. It..s incredibly hard work ensuring my voice, body and soul are in check each day but we are all very well cared for and looked after. The owner, Eric Harmsen, and his son who manages Teatro Pereyra, Juangui Harmsen, have taken me under their wing by revamping my whole image and stage performance. I also work with the most incredible musicians: Tom Worrall (pianist/vocalist/drummer/my flatmate); Allan Christie (guitarist/vocalist); Luis Garcia (Keys/Bass); Rafael Garcés (Saxophonist/Pianist). Here..s a clip of a performance we did http://www.createmanagement.com/lisa/lisat.mp3 - BIG thanks to Patrick Haveron from Create Management for recording it!
If you do plan on coming over, contact Natalia Zeltzer from Be Real Ibiza who can organise your stay, tell you what..s happening on the Island:

Afternoon
Hope you're having a good week so far, especially in the lead up to Easter.
Now although I'm not sharing my new material at this stage with you (boo-hiss....I know) I do have a little something else for you. It goes back to the start of my songwriting and performing career, which really began when I arrived in London about 11 years ago...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nt4VBaCp22E Hope you enjoy the video and feel free to share it with everyone you know too!
Good luck with your treasure hunt finding the choccie bunny this weekend and Happy Easter!

Hi All Muchos gracias to those that made last night, and good to meet those that heard me for the first time. It's always a tricky one supporting another band and playing to ‘their' fans as essentially they are really there to see them not you! But you were such a lovely and attentive audience – so thank you very much for listening and joining my mailing list. Also thank you to Never the Bride (http://www.neverthebride.com) for having me, you guys rock…BIG loving to you :> Last night was bit of a biggie as I was pretty nervous showcasing new songs (like a bundle of nerves x a lot!), I guess I kinda forgot how much more confidence is needed to deliver fresh goodies, you know, like road-testing a whole new product! Anyway, thanks for coming up to me afterwards to share your thoughts and posting your comments… Comments from Bull's Head performance on Monday, 30th March 2009 "Love 'Call Me Out Of The Blue', 'His Broken Heart' and 'I Know'. Lisa is back in the house!" - Nick "It's like there's a party in my soul and everyone's invited!" - Christian "Keep rocking, you made my month!" - Brooke "Brill songs - loved it" - Peter "'It's The Way' fantastic - great words, all were brilliant" - Kevin "Brilliant songs and set" - Martin "Your voice has matured in the last few months since I saw you and loved 'Gonna Make This Right' and 'Drown the Pain'." - Shaun "Brilliant! Sound and words were great" - Jackie "What a talent" - Pearl Now you'll notice that there are no forthcoming gigs listed and it's simply because "I'm going deeper underground" so to speak! There is a lot of polishing, preparation and cherry-picking to be made before the new songs are ready for recording and release, and last night was a good reality check of what works and what needs reworking . I'll also be delving into some co-writing which is very exciting and I'm looking forward to rattling the ole pots and pans and cooking up something real tasty! So that's what I'll be busy doing in the next few months… You of course are top of my list to keep updated and if I'm allowed I might just send through some sample snippets, however please feel free to say hi too. Happy days ahead, so keep shining :> LT XXX

Hi there It's Sunday evening and I'm drinking hot chocolate whilst writing to you. Since my last blog of shock, I've pondered on what's going on, had lots of hot chocolate, chatted non-stop with my Mom, exercised loads (vocally and physically), finished reading "Eat, Pray, Love" (my Mom said "Read this or else!") and eaten, dare I say, pizza and also ice-cream! As well as that the phone's rung off the hook with numerous offers inviting me to tea...translated into our savvy world of technology, it means that I've had more emails from you threatening in a Gargamel-like-tone "not to dare give up"!!! So...I would like to thank you for all the uplifting messages, for bringing me back, for sticking me straight back in the vocal booth, for only 9 unsubscribes out of approx 4000 fans, for 9 more fans finding me, for making me realise you've gotta keep working at it to perfect it even when the doors seem shut, for swatting me over the head saying 'Oy Theunissen, chin up, let's go'. Thank you. I needed it and guess I'll stop being a precious child now, and open up the opportunity of being found or finding whoever it is to put my songs out there...these songs that you believe in. Thank you :> And...back on the social networking scene, not that I probably need one, but if you'd like to follow my career a little closer, (may the force be with me...i.e. protecting me!) I've finally joined Twitter ( http://twitter.com/lisatheunissen). So you can hear about my writing and studio updates whilst creating the next album. Feel free to tweet! Also don't forget to check out Never the Bride's show, where I'll be supporting and performing next. 30th March, Bull's Head in Barnes, London: http://www.neverthebride.com. Have a wonderful week and remember now, "Never Give Up On a Good Thing"...wise words I once heard from you! Much love LT :> PS I've decided to live in Neverland, who wants to grow up anyway?!
