Following the publication of the strong comeback, "Wicked Wonderland" we had the opportunity to work with Lita Ford and her husband Jim Gillette telephone. Despite the current hardships tour - one in the U.S. is on the road with Queensryche - could both say nothing of it and showed their best side to be extremely pleasant and friendly contemporaries. Lita Ford: I'm glad too!

First, how are you?

Lita Ford: Oh, I'm pretty good! We have just a very, very long trip from Lake Tahoe , Nevada , Louisiana , New Orleans , behind us. It took about three days. When we arrived in New Orleans , erstmal we now need a shower.

As the tour with Queensryche been running for?

Lita Ford: It runs great, absolutely excellent. The super fans react to us and the guys from Queensryche are also very good to us. It's really very, very good with great reactions and a damn wild audience.

You have brought out with "Wicked Wonderland" just released a new album and of course I would like to talk a little bit over the plate. First of all, how satisfied are you with the reactions to the album, now that shows off your first right, the new songs live?

Lita Ford: We had really great reviews so far, at Amazon.com, it was even four weeks at number 1, which of course is class. I think people really like it much. Of course it is not 'Kiss Me Deadly' and not 'Close My Eyes Forever', it's a little harder by the sound here and I like it That's exactly my thing. I wanted to create something that rocks, not a slow, boring album full of ballads. I just wanted to once again rock really.

The sound of the album is, as you have already said so much darker than your old albums. Do you think that it is because that in 2009 over 1988 is not easy or is it from your point of view, a general shift of perspective behind it?

Lita Ford: I do not think that 2009 has to do something with it. We have lived for many years on a desert island and on our island, we have no current music. We see no MTV or VH1, we see no television, we hear no radio. We do not know how widely these days should listen to music, if you were to ask someone. This album we just posted from our hearts out and that is just that, what came out here, something hard (laughs)...

"Wicked Wonderland" Review

LITA FORD made in the 70s and 80s, an almost legendary reputation as a female hard rock icon. LITA FORD WINS FMQB'S 2009 BEST FEMALE ROCK ARTIST AWARD

Queen of Metal Caps Off a Banner Year

Lita Ford is capping off a banner year by being named FMQB's 2009 Best Female Artist in the Rock category in the music and radio trade magazine's annual FMQB Artist Leaders 2009 honors.

Lita's counterparts in the Best Female Artist category include such heavyweights as Beyonce (Rhythm), Taylor Swift (CHR), Pink (AC/Hot AC), and Metric's Emily Haines (Modern). Winners will be posted on fmqb.com next week.

"To be gone so long and come back to such an amazing reception has been awesome," says Lita. "We really have our fans to thank as they supported us out on the road, as well as rock and metal radio who put us back on the airwaves. And, of course, our team who worked hard behind-the-scenes to make Wicked Wonderland a success."

The Queen of Metal's return to rock came after a 14-year hiatus from recording with the October release of Wicked Wonderland. The lead track from the explosive album, "Crave," a duet featuring husband Jim Gillette, made a major dent in rock radio this fall and winter as it reached No. 7 on CMJ's charts in October.

And, the accolades didn't stop there. Reviews of Lita's show with Queensryche had such media outlets as Examiner.com raving, "Seeing Lita for a short time makes it feel like a dream. During the Philadelphia show, she took the stage like a crazed tigress and pranced around while members of Queensryche played 'Patriotic SOB' and 'Crave' from her new CD, Wicked Wonderland."

Lita's last order of business for 2009 will be participating in Alice Cooper's 9th Annual Christmas Pudding Concert in Phoenix, Arizona on December 18 with Cooper, Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, Twisted Sister's Dee Snider, American Idol top 10 finalist Scott MacIntyre, Gary Mule Deer, Runaway Phoenix, TV personality Brad Perry’s aptly titled band the Brad Perry Band, and River of Life Choir.

"2009 was better than I ever hoped for, but we promise that 2010 will rock even harder!" adds Lita.
