 What
can you say about an artist who earned awards that span the imagination
like the Oscar and a host of other honors for excellence? Well, after
receiving her latest album, “Running for The Drum” all I can say is
WOW. Pure energy is an understatement as Buffy and her crew pounded off
another fantastic album that is absolutely fantastic.
Running
for the Drum is a classic example of why Buffy Saint Marie is still an
iconic legion who commands the respect of all who follow in her foot
steps. The lady totally rocks and still manages to get my crusty dander
up when I hear her dynamic tunes on my Marconi. Gads, from the first
tune, “No No Keshagash to the last “Still This Love Goes On” Buffy has
you on the edge of your seat in anticipation for the next tune. And in
true Buffy style she delivers and delivers big time in this album.
Not
relegated to living on royalties Buffy is a true trooper as her and her
merry band of minstrel’s pound out tune after tune to live audiences
from around the world. Does she know when to stop? I hope not since she
is still tops in my book and her latest album “Running for the Drum is
well worth a look see and it is a sure bet you will enjoy her music as
much as I have since I received this fantastic album.
So
it is my recommendation that you listen to Buffy Saint Marie’s latest
Album and see for yourself what all the fuss is about. It will be a
musical experience you will not soon forget. This Saskatchewan Canadian
Native is more than the pride of the Indigenous communities of the
America’s; she is an icon within the music industry.
Find out for yourself eh….

 Just
so you boneheads know. If for some reason you are a country who is
betting on the US giving up sovereignty or anything else just because
some guy who claims to represent us said so, you are sorely mistaken.
In
America we have a thing called the Constitution and within this
document are the rules of engagement for all our elected officials. Now
here is the tricky part eh…
If
by chance one of these elected officials violates the terms of his/her
official duties as a president, governor etc, they have violated the
terms of their candidacy. That means anything official these morons may
say during their tenure is not valid if their actions do not follow our
written constitution. In short, you loose if you think for one second
the American people will allow you to march over here and claim your
bounty since the person who gave you authority was not qualified,
including Barack Obama.
So
talk all your cheap One World Order smack to us whence you truly think
we are easy and you will find out that this is still America regardless
of what some corrupt politician may say. After all they are violating
the law of the land and money has no place in the grand scheme of
things here in the US of A. So buy into all our hopelessly corrupt
politicians and see what happens when you think it’s OK to march in
here and spout off all your Euro WTO crap. You may end up with a few
more holes than you expected because American’s don’t buy into that
crap homeboy.
America
will always be an enigma in the eyes of the world and that is how it
goes. We will argue amongst ourselves but if any of you boneheads think
you can side with any of us, you are in worse shape than us and will
most likely end up dead. So buy into this One World Order crappola and
see where it will get you because it will not give you the USA and that
is a given, no matter what president says so.
Like
it or not America is full if pissed off campers and you outsiders will
be toast in the making whence you think you have us in the palm of your
hand, like it or not.
One
day world leaders as well as American politicians will be known as the
treasonous swine they really are since they sold their countries for
material gain and corporate interests to the World Trade Organization
for fun and profit.
And I speak for the silenced majority.

 Recent
dialogue has spurred hope from some and disgust from others as the
possibility Aung San Suu Kyi and the political prisoners release
continue to echo in many circles. The only dialogue that really matters
is that between Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and Gen. Than Shwe of Burma.
Senators filled with feel good speeches as well as the corrupt United
Nations can ramble all they want but it’s the dialogue between Daw Aung
San Suu Kyi that really matters to the people of Burma.
Rumor
has it that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi will soon have dialogue with Gen. Than
Shwe. Other rumors tell of meetings between Aung San Suu Kyi and key
members of her party as well. Be it as it may it is action that will
speak louder than words when it is all said and done. Having lived
through false hopes on many occasions already, I am jaded and it will
take more than feel good headlines and speeches before I am convinced
that true reconciliation has begun within the borders of Burma.
If
by chance there is substance to these potentially wonderful rumors and
Aung San Suu Kyi as well as the political prisoners is released from
bondage, then the regime of Burma will have my attention. When friends
and former business associates are free to contact me whence they are
released from prison I will also sing the merry tune of true
reconciliation. Reading reports from my correspondence in all quarters
of Burma and the regime I see another story, sadly.
Ethnic
people are still in the sights of the regime and villagers are still
being hijacked then forced into slavery while children are still
drafted into military service. Than Shwe’s minions are doing everything
possible to make their Supremo Than Shwe out to be a liar at the very
least. The fact 15,000 Chinese soldiers have come to the aid of the Wa
Army in response to Than Shwe’s Border Guard initiative is proof
positive that all is not well in the land of Shwe. Fact is, Than Shwe
has driven a wedge between Burma and China with his antics with the Wa,
Kachin, Mongol and Kokang people, just to mention a few. This is a
terminal move since now battle lines have been scribed in Burma’s
future. Oil and gas will not save his regime now since China is well
aware that Suu Kyi will continue to do business with the giant dragon.
In reality Aung San Suu Kyi defended China in a recent conversation
with a US Senator who tried to berate China, (Jim Webb). This weighed
heavily with Chinese authorities who once thought Aung San Suu Kyi
would not do business with them if she retained power.
China
is all about business and they will do anything in their power to
maintain commerce. This is how it’s been for several thousand years and
I don’t see them changing anytime soon. China holds many keys to
Burma’s development but by no means do they hold the trump card. Sadly
to Than Shwe’s chagrin it’s the nations of the free world who hold
other lucrative cards that far out shadow China’s mere pittance of a
return. Burma still retains a wealth of natural resources that can see
this nation into prosperity well into the next century. The possibility
of a flourishing economy rests not in the hands of Than Shwe but in the
general who takes his place and this man will be the hero who will
liberate Burma. Than Shwe will have given away his place in history by
his short sightedness, that is a given.
Ah
but there are more cards on the table than once realized. The most
prized of all is the safety of Than Shwe’s family whence he departs
life on this plain. The reality is there is no general who will
actually have the power to secure Than Shwe’s family’s protection. They
will try but their efforts will be in vain and their words will fall on
deaf ears, even within their own ranks. The only person on Earth who
actually has the power to secure the lives and safety of Gen. Than
Shwe’s family is Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Only her word will secure Than
Shwe’s families safety whence he dies. Only Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has
the power to stop the wave of revenge that will bestow the Shwe family
whence Gen. Than is dead and that is the bottom line.
So
for the sake of Than Shwe’s family there is ongoing dialogue with Daw
Aung San Suu Kyi and there is actual reconciliation within Burma’s
infrastructure. Only then will Than Shwe be able to die in peace since
his family will be secured. The only other option is a grave one indeed
since it’s a guaranteed death sentence for Than Shwe’s bride and his
kids. There are only two paths he can walk at this juncture and if he
follows the path of ego his family will feel cold steel on their necks
soon after his death. On the other hand, he can become a hero with a
rich legacy of rebirth and he can be known as a new father of Burma’s
independence. Then again words of dialogue with Aung San Suu Kyi were
only poppycock in the first place and the heads of Than Shwe’s loved
ones will fill the baskets of retribution.

 As
people speculate about the possibility this latest meeting between Aung
San Suu Kyi and the junta may bare fruit, I beg to differ. Quite the
contrary I see something more devious in the works. With dialogue being
tossed around about the possibility Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and the NLD
were *secreting news to the west it is obvious Gen. Than Shwe is about
to pull of another distraction while tossing Suu Kyi into further
peril. Smells like the same ole crappola. Junta
thugs have already begun tossing allegations at Aung San Suu Kyi and
the NLD for leaking letters sent to Than Swine citing the NLD’s Special
Announcement published on September 28 of this year. The innocuous
letter simply outlined Aung San Suu Kyi’s willingness to cooperate with
the junta. Chan Mya Aye, the author if the scathing article also noted
events previous to this dating back several years in the state run
media where the story appeared. Sen. Than Shwe is quietly building a
case around Aung San Suu Kyi in yet another effort to keep her out of
the publics eye while he proceeds with the sham election of 2010. So
I venture to say we are about to go through another atrocitious and
shameful event. Aung San Suu Kyi will be the sacrificial lamb as the
junta forges ahead with a new sham trial to complement the sham
election. The world will be shocked and in disbelief. The hopelessly
corrupt United Nations will fire off another round of worthless letters
of rebuke outlining sanctions. It is funny, in a dark way, how Kim
Bi-moon’s cronies in South Korea don’t need to abide by international
sanctions though. Daewoo has become fabulously wealthy working with the
junta over the years. And their products line shelves around the world.
Daewoo employees were also noted for their cruel if not barbaric
treatment of Burmese citizens as well. Yes,
politicians will get back on their soapboxes and make more feel good
speeches then lob spineless idle threats at the criminal regime of
Burma. And all the while Aung San Suu Kyi will loose her home and be
relegated to Insein Prison for the rest of her life because she
violated the terms of her house arrest. The NLD will be considered an
outlaw organization along with other pro democracy groups and end up in
prisons around Burma. The Karen, Wa, Kachin and other ethnic groups
will be killed off or turned into slavery. Their women will be
systematically raped by scores of Burmese Soldiers to “purify” these
hopelessly impure ethnic women. Children will continue to be used in
the military as slaves and sex objects by the junta. Possibly Tata
Motors will build a “Nano” plant along side their military truck
division already inside of Burma. Speaking about Tata, don’t be
surprised if Tata moves the Land Rover and Jaguar plants out of England
and into Burma as well. Slave labor is much cheaper and more
profitable, just look at China and their lucrative Gulag system. Than
Shwe is a victim of habit and only a fool can’t see that he has
something up his sleeve. Baiting the press with words of concern over
Aung San Suu Kyi and the NLD’s alleged improprieties are nothing more
than a precursor for future litigation in Burma’s kangaroo court
system. Like they say, “Hope for the best but prepare for the worst”,
and I have a feeling things are about to get even more stupid in Burma
as this sham election unfolds. Your Devil’s Advocate Buffalohair http://buffalohair.wordpress.com/

 I
about fell over in my chair when I learned that 33 Burmese officers
were training with the *United Nations on Child Soldier Prevention. How
far beyond stupid does Than Shwe think people are anyway? Than Shwe is
frantically painting a picture of legitimacy for the world to ogle at
for illusions sake. All is well as he showboats Human Rights issues,
forms bogus political parties and “feel good” leagues in his
masterpiece of fraud. I wonder how many other noble causes Than Shwe
will create before the sham election? Apparently none of the basic
requests from the NLD are even in consideration. So true dialogue
between parties is not on the horizon and Than Shwe has no intention of
releasing anyone who even knows how to spell democracy. At best Than
Shwe will continue to release political prisoners who are on the verge
of death. And quietly Karen villagers will continue to flee for their
lives in advance of the traitorous DKBA. Refugee
centers in Thailand have been receiving evacuees in great numbers since
the combined forces of the Burmese Army and the Democratic Karen
Buddhist Army (DKBA) laid siege on Karen National Union (KNU), Brigade
7 last June. Now the DKBA raids villages for slave labor, forced
military service, child soldiers, rape and murder. Karen villagers know
first hand how barbaric the DKBA soldiers are. They will force
villagers to work as porters while raping the women and killing the
elders for fun. Refugees from all DKBA regions report of similar acts
of brutality and murder. Many people are threatened with death if the
say a word to anyone about these horrific events. Others are not so
lucky and are killed on the spot then left in the jungle to rot. It is
as simple as that. News
about the **DKBA were becoming border guards has stepped up the flow of
refugees. The junta and the DKBA have no regard for Karen villagers.
Karen are hunted down then killed like animals for sport. The women are
not so fortunate since they are raped to death or butchered alive in
some cases. Occasionally Karen are tortured to death in a variety of
ritualistic ways with their body parts placed on sticks or wires. A
warning to those who refuse to be taken as slaves and porters, this is
the price you pay if you refuse to work for the junta. The DKBA take
sadism to another level and the villagers don’t want any part of that.
Brother against brother personified. Burmanization,
better know as leaving a soldiers blood in every village, is Than
Shwe’s mandate for raping ethnic minorities. In a twisted way he thinks
he is purifying these people by planting Burman seeds within these
tribes. The Burman race is Than Shwe’s version of Hitler’s “Master
Race”. Than Shwe’s “Rape for Burma” program yielded more than he
bargained for since this became the perfect vehicle for a host of
venereal diseases including HIV. By infecting unwanted tribes they will
eventually die off saving expensive bullets. Maybe when Than Shwe
starts a woman’s league of some kind he can explain this nifty piece of
military doctrine. Minority groups who side with the junta are perfect
candidates for this type of biological warfare since they are
expendable. After all, they are not Burman. When faced with a choice of
using Burman troops or ethnic minority allies to sweep a mine field the
junta will use the ethnic group first including the child soldiers. With
thousands of child soldiers in the Burmese military a paltry 30
officers training with the UN is nothing more than an exercise in
futility but a priceless photo op moment. Looks good, sounds good and
it makes Than Shwe look good, well not really. This is nothing more
than a calculated move to show progress to a gullible world and not
some hallowed “first step” towards true reform. Don’t make me laugh;
this is just another junta masquerade. If you read about it in the New
Lie’s of Myanmar or any other Shwe sanctioned media outlet you know
it’s a masterful piece of propaganda. Slander and bold faced lies are
what is vomited from Than Shwe’s presses and that’s an understatement.
True journalism in Burma is rewarded with prison time and met with
weekly torture. Its business
as usual as Than Shwe tosses the world a few more crumbs while in all
actuality doing nothing at all. In the back ground thousands of
refugees are pouring into Thailand as Than Shwe quietly moves his
military into position for one of a string of offensives he has
planned. Biological and chemical weapons are bountiful in Than Shwe’s
arsenal these days, but oh well. The ceasefire groups who refused to
relinquish their sovereignty and become border cops are already
preparing for the worst from Burma’s xenophobic regime. Buddhist monks
as well as pro democracy advocates are disappearing by the day and the
world is oblivious. It will be interesting to see what comes of the
meeting between ***Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and Liaison Minister Aung Kyi. Your Devil’s Advocate Buffalohair

Flyingman’s Can of Worms

Have We ForgottenTribal
politics aside the situation in Concho is a very human crisis. On one
side there is a tribal governor who consistently ignored many of his
own constituents. On the other side are the elderly who took a major
hit by Darrel Flyingman over the course of his tenure. In the case of
my village the elderly were left to fend for themselves since funding
for their only hot meal a day stopped. Other types of aid were also
canceled with little or no notice as well. I personally know this for a
fact since I was supporting some of my people in the interim on the
assumption assistance would eventually come to my relations. I also
funded meals for my elders with the same assumption. The only response
to our needy from Flyingman was the sound of Gary Owen echoing across
the grasslands.
Eventually
the proverbial well went dry as the economy assisted in draining my
finances. Sadly no assistance ever came to my relations. Homes that
were scheduled for repair were simply stopped. Tarps remained on roofs
to keep the rain and snow out during the harsh Oklahoma winters. I’ve
witnessed with my own eyes as my family struggled to find the basics to
feed our nieces and nephews while trying to make ends meet. I would do
all I could to ease the suffering but the magnitude of neglect my
people had to endure was overwhelming and beyond my financial
capability. I still felt guilty for not being able to contribute more
especially when I look into the faces those chubby cheek babies.
Why
did these human beings have to endure such ambivalence while others
lived in the lap of luxury? How could anyone be so callous as to simply
ignore people from their own tribe? At the very least the US Cavalry
gave the people flour and grease to weather the winter months. It
boggles the imagination to think that someone could be so cruel to
their own people. The politics behind such tyranny simply does not fit
into this equation for we all are descendants of survivors of genocide.
But what is most striking about this event is the over riding fact the
US government has encroached on the sovereignty of this nation.
Flyingman managed to side with outsiders in an attempt to regain
control so he could finish robbing the coffers of the tribe. In a
correction to the previous news report it was not the US Supreme Court
Justice who granted Flyingman access to tribal funds and business. It
was other usual government entities who willfully ignored the will and
the traditions of the people by their obvious support of Flyingman. Is
Flyingman a traitor to his people? That is up to the folks back in
Oklahoma to decide but it is obvious he chose to use the power of the
US Government to force his will on these humble people at the expense
of tribal sovereignty. Invoking the powers of the federal government
over tribal law can be viewed as treason in many opinions. My relations
call him Veho.
The
issue that needs addressing is this nation’s sovereignty as well as the
sovereignty of all tribes. Flyingman opened up a can of worms with his
total disregard for the will of his people. Are we to expect the feds
to march into any rez when there is an election that booted a corrupt
politician? Frankly the USA has shown itself to be poor stewards of the
ballot box with the Iraq’s hopelessly corrupt politicians which the US
backed. President Zelaya of Honduras was ousted from power with little
more than an impotent condemnation. It should be noted he was a
favorite of the Indigenous people over industrialists who robbed land
from the natives and murdered their chiefs. Burma is another classic
failure of the US to recognize the duly elected officials in the case
of Daw Aung Suu Kyi. Now this beleaguered nation is about to have
another election regardless of the fact the people voted for democracy
overwhelmingly. The US simply became an enabler of a corrupt military
dictator (Gen. Than Shwe) who continues to murder the ethnic minorities
within his nation. Gen. Than Shwe is Asia’s version of Gen. George
Armstrong Custer for his soldiers rape and murder ethnics at their
leisure while the free world looks on. Dare I mention that these
villagers are being murdered for the natural resources that lay on
their tribal land? To the joy of international corporations I might
add. Sounds familiar eh.
With
a multitude of articles promoting a new policy dealing with the
Indigenous population of America I fear that ultimately sovereignty
will be on the chopping block in the near future. Just so you know,
with the arrival of the new world order we all will loose our
sovereignty regardless of treaties and national boundaries. Under the
guidelines of these economic unions that are popping up around the
world there is a clause that allows any nation or industry to go into
sovereign soil and glean natural resources. The European Union and our
NAFTA are to the benefit of international corporations not the nations
who subscribe to this global initiative. The Indigenous populations are
of absolutely no concern. Globalization is colonization and as we all
know the Indigenous populations of the America’s were colonized
hundreds of years ago. We are told that we must forgive the history of
the past and to move forward but it is hard to forgive when we are
still under siege.
Flyingman
is only a microcosm of the cancer that is raging around the America’s
and the world. Traditional people are placed in a position of ridicule
in some cases while others are simply overlooked and live in abject
poverty. Tribal officials drive around in Town Cars and Navigators
while their electorates scrounge for spare change to buy Duct Tape.
Those are the lucky ones since throughout Central and South America
tribal people are murdered if they stand in the way of corrupt
politicians. Africa is another holocaust in motion. It’s a pandemic of
greed that has changed the landscape not only in Indian Country but
around the world. And if for one second you believe that world politics
is of no concern to Indian Country you are sorely mistaken. The culture
of greed is a global initiative and we as Indigenous people and our
sovereignty are on the chopping block.

MAYBE YOU CAN HELP ME WITH MY SENIORS August 04, 2007 8:53 AM
MAYBE YOU CAN HELP ME WITH MY SENIORS
As many of you know, I
hale from a little village called Hammon Oklahoma. It’s also called
“The Red Moon Agency” a sub-agency of the Darlington Agency, and named
after Chief Red Moon. My people are very traditional in every sense of
the word. We call this “The Last Stronghold” for we are still under
attack in many ways.. It’s the dark side of tribal existence and I know
other fellow Native’s know what I’m talking about, it’s our sad secret.
But there are innocent victims of this war of attrition and
ambivalence and that’s the 40 or so senior citizens of my village.
Well, to cut to the chase, I’ve been personally paying for all my
seniors’ meals for the last 6 months. I adopted all the elderly of my
village. So they are all my grandmothers and grandfathers. Somehow in
the matrix of politics our center has been without funding and my
elders have gone without their daily meals. In most cases these elderly
people only get one hot meal a day since our village is so impoverished.
I only discovered this situation when my aunt, who is on a
walker, was making her way to another relatives home one day. I asked
my aunty why she was “strolling” down the street. She would not tell me
at first but then she broke down and told me. You have to realize these
elderly people are a very proud people. In fact, they are the direct
descendants of the survivors of the Sand Creek Massacre, conducted by
Chivington and ultimately the Washita Massacre conducted by Custer who
was sent to finish us off. Sadly Chief Black Kettle was finally killed
and so were most of my ancestors.
My aunt was ashamed to tell me that they have not received
hot meals for months. And that all our elderly were going from house to
house getting meals. That was for the fortunate ones who were not
invalid and bed ridden. I could not understand why she was ashamed to
tell me though. So to retain their dignity, I adopted all our seniors
and have been paying out of pocket for the last 6 months. Well, I’ve
tapped into my production development funds now and I simply can’t
afford to pay much more, so I need your help.
Since the Senior Center in Hammon is a multi-racial one.
I’ve decided to adopt the non-Natives who depend on these hot meals as
well. Why?? That’s a no brainer eh. The non-Natives are the descendants
of the good White folks at Fort Supply and other places who hide my
people from Custer’s troops who were scouring the countryside executing
the stragglers. Remember “knits make lice” and Custer cutting out
babies from the mothers womb? It was a most brutal part of history that
does not seem to make all the history books. Custer also executed White
people who harbored any Natives, another piece of dark history. It
might not be a big disaster but to us, “It’s our Holocaust”. If it were
not for these beautiful White folks who truly were heroes in our eyes,
we would not be here. So I must honor them and their ancestors as well.
I’ve contacted the City Manager of Hammon, Shirley Walker, a
very nice and caring non-Native woman. I told her of my plan to
generate funding for the Senior Center in our village since this is in
her jurisdiction. She told me she has the tax info for others who would
adopt our elderly, the “502. Whatever”
So if you can, give me a hand with this situation.
I named the fund after my family:
WHITE EAGLE-BULLCOMING UP SENIORS FUND BOX 218 HAMMON, OKLAHOMA 73650
ATTENTION: SHIRLEY WALKER, City Manager
580.473.2281
Just tell Shirley you heard about it from “That Big Injun Dude”
Believe me, she will know who you’re talking about since I champion many other causes for my people.
It’s not a big village but it’s all I have and to us it’s a
catastrophe of cataclysmic proportions. We love and honor our seniors
and basically, our village is very impoverished. And well, my people
look to me for solutions and this is what I came up with. I just don’t
have enough money to pull it off anymore or I would not ask you in the
first place. Maybe after I win an Oscar I’ll have the dough-ray-me, but
for now its commode cheese and green beans for this film maker.

Buffalohair Cheyenne Arapaho Tribes in the Grips of Tyranny

Nothing like getting a call
from home only to discover that corruption has taken a nasty toll on
your elders. That is what happened with me the other day when my cousin
called and described what I thought to be the most reprehensible act of
government meddling in tribal affairs. Imagine having an election where
clearly a person was voted out of office only to discover the Supreme
Court has decided to side with the looser. In this case the person was
hopelessly corrupt, Darryl Flyingman of the Southern Cheyenne Arapaho
Nation.
I know first hand about all
the lack of care for my elders for this person canceled hot meals for
the elderly as well as other critical aid for my clan as well as our
village. This was the case across our rez as this person played
favorites at the expense of our elderly and the suffering. I personally
was paying for meals for my elders since the tribal government had
ignored my village on more than one occasion. My other cousin with a
big family was constantly denied aid and assistance for his kids
forcing him to scrounge to survive. But on our own rez? Flyingman along
with his select crew always pointed aid in the other direction. It was
unbelievable that my cuz would be forced to come up with proof he was a
tribal member by people he was blood related to. This was nothing more
than an excuse not to give him aid.
What really torques my
shorts is the fact this Flyingman refused to relinquish his position as
chief even though the tribe voted him out of office. My elders went
down to Concho Oklahoma to complain when they were forced to turn
around at Cherokee. It is unclear if they were forced off the tribal
bus or that they were told to turn around. The news is just breaking as
of this writing and I was just informed that Dennis Banks, Russell
Means and the Crazy Dog Society from Lame Deer were heading down later
this morning in a show of solidarity for our plight. With CNN heading
down as well I hope the issue of sovereignty is addressed since I
believe the Supreme Court over stepped its authority. And if they get
away with this they will pull the same crappola on other reservations.
One thing is for certain,
there will be a peaceful demonstration held at Concho today (Nov 20)
and the world wide press will be there to cover this event. Senior
citizens from my village will be there so I can only pray they will not
be ruffed up by this corrupt and morally bankrupt politician and his
goons. Hopefully with the press there things will not go violent
hurting my elders. But what was the Supreme Court thinking anyway? With
what authority did they have to cancel legal election results from a
sovereign nation? Truly this is an abuse of the bench and should raise
some major questions about the ethics of the court. It’s been long
since rumored that Flyingman had this federal judge in his pocket for
quite some time.
Is this change we can
depend on or more of the same old crappola from the non Native
community? Why is it that the government would rather do business with
corrupt and shady criminals rather than the traditional folks in the
first place? This is more common than not in Indian Country and maybe
this will offer more focus on the plight of us and other tribal nations
across the US. Canada shares in this travesty as well I might add. The
have’s continue to have while the have not’s continue to live in abject
poverty. The outside world makes nice with examples from people who
have all the loot saying all is well in Indian Country when in
actuality it is not. There is greed and abject poverty on many nations
and it is perpetrated by corrupt officials such as Flyingman. At least
this dark secret of tribal life is out in the open now. But to be fair,
not all tribes suffer this kind of corruption and there are honest and
moral chiefs who actually do the bidding of their respective nations.
Sadly this is not the case on my rez though.
With regard to “Turkey Day”
my cousin had a more appropriate title for the coming holiday, he
simply calls it, “Dog Day” since we will theoretically eat dog again
for the holiday season since tribal funds were squandered leaving our
village with only the dogs on the streets to munch on. Thanks Giving?
Forget about it since what do we have to be thankful for? A US
Government who sides with corruption? Oh boy. In any event I will have
a blow by blow accounting from my people later on today. Hopefully
peace will rein on my rez but truthfully I fear things will get much
worse before they get any better. Hey Obama, how about fighting for
human rights here in Oklahoma?
