Hey I just added more songs - Sybille, which I wrote a couple of months before leaving the UK, and Dark Waters, which I wrote when I first came here to Brussels. Just got them recorded after some rather painful sessions (I'm not right good at this recording lark). Take a listen if you get a chance!

Cheers

Well, I've been in Brussels nearly 3 months now. I've been having a go at recording and, apart from becoming insanely frustrated and suicidal during the process, I've been able to re-record some oldies whilst producing some new-uns. I have 2 more new ones which are already finished and just need practising - they'll be up soon. Anyway it's all underway. Thanks for being interested x

Of course, if you're not reading this, then clearly you're not. But then you don't receive the thanks. Unless some outlaw conveys only that last bit of information to you. In which case, I hate you. I hope you receive that bit of information too. And if you don't, damn you. And if you don't receive that.........................................

So! I think this is mostly for the Frenchies because they are the only ones that visit this sight. Well, I'm going to upload some new music in a few weeks' time. I have just today started recording new material (everybody say amen) and in a few weeks we shall have the internet capability to upload. Which is nice.

I think this means Charlie may also have some new stuff, but in any case we will probably create a new myspace page under our 'band' name: "Bandit Pants" ... isn't that fabulous!

Thanks for reading, François and François. Take care!

Just a note to say that Charlie has got her myspace page up and running and has three songs on there (we just finished recording). Go take a look! It's lovely!!!

Okay, pretty much nothing to do with myspace, but it is to do with me so...

I've created a site for discussing stuff, basically. There it is. I could try to explain it in loads more detail but you can just go have a look on the site and see what you think and if you want to take part in it. Something I've wanted to do for a while. Go see:

It's called Headspark. Good name, I thought.

I finally got my bleedin' saxomophone on monday. Wahoo! I spent all day trying to get a sound out of it - to no avail. Just a parp and a squeek here and there but nowt else. Anyhoo, thank goodness for Swedes. They talk to their saxophone-playing-mates at uni and then come home and show me how to make the music! Yay! Thanks to Charlie (and Chris, of course), I can now make notes on that wonderful instrument.

So, Charlie being a crazy Swede and a very sweet one to boot, she suggested we go to the park late at night and let the thing loose on the band stand. So awesome. Too noisy to play in the flat, but it's all good out there in the dark with just a few passing Frenchies keeping themselves to themselves, ignoring the inner urge to succumb to burning rage and throttle me with my own instrument / insanity-inducing weapon.

Anyway, anyone in Keighley this Christmas or within a good few leagues - should err, go somewhere else.

Woo! So me and Charlie have a gig at The Great Northern, a pub on the outskirts of my jolly hometown of Keighley, on the 22nd of December. They came across my myspace page seeing as they have one of their own, and the rest is history.

Indeed. So, come along! Sing and shout! Throw your fruit bowls at us. Full or empty, it really doesn't matter. We're free-thinking people, after all. Open to everything. Except maybe Ska Punk and Trad Jazz. Dear God, the agony...

Anyway here's their myspace address:

and here's their address in the non-too-much-time-on-our-hands-world:

The Great Northern Pub
Halifax Road

Last one there's a ham-fisted dwarf.

Yes indeed. I've gone and ordered me a (cheap) saxomophone. Should be fun. I've thought about it a few times before and now I can afford it. So yay, more toys to play with!

I recently started playing the piano again rather a lot, seeing as Charlotte is learning and seeing as I also have to teach the thing a little. My sight reading is better than it ever has been (I've always hated it, until now...).

I've started writing one or two things on the piano and some of it is jazz-orientated material, some of which I rather fancied a saxophone line would compliment rather well. Okay so it's very basic thing - jazz? Ah, saxophone... yeah maybe, but shut up. It'll be new and exciting to me if I get to be the one who actually plays the lines.

Hopefully one of the more song-like piano pieces I'm working on will get onto myspace sometime soon. Not sure how...

Hey! Microphone! Yay! Thanks to Dave and Emily I now have a micophone here to record with. Unfortunately the guitar doesn't sound as nice recorded through my accoustic pickup as it does on the my demo and I'm not sure I can be arsed to mic up the guitar because I have no mic stand so it's tricky. We'll see...

Anyway, I also bought me a sax so I'll see how that goes and hopefully I'll get some recording done with it. I'll have to learn to play it first, of course...

Saxomophone!!! SAXOMOPHONE!!! I'm so excited.

Yes, choir practice too. Me and Charlie have recently started singing with a few of her English friends from uni. They're all actually really good so it can sound splendid sometimes. Seeing as I'm the only guy I have to sing bass. But that is actually excellent fun. I'm re-discovering my manliness with every bassy tremble.

Anyway, we started a few weeks ago and we're now making a regular do of things by singing on Sunday afternoons.

I suggested we try to sing John Tavener's 'The Lamb'. Freaking excellent. It's wonderful to actually hear it live and take part in it. I won't go on too much about it because I love it an awful lot but we also have some other cool stuff to sing.

We've just started working on some SATB arrangements of Christmas carols which actually sound really nice. Every week is great fun - I could do this all the time.

I want to be in a choir when I grow up!
