tempo to sometimes fast garagey pop punk from the Philippines. Mostly
sung in English, but there are a few numbers that I believe are sung in
Tagalog: the title track being one of them. That track stood right out
with a smoother flow of vocal delivery while they blazed through a
faster punk number. The English tracks tend to sound slow to compensate
for the uncomfortableness of the language. The Tagalog tracks are the
memorable tracks which showcases their energy. The other tracks just
come off unpolished and awkward. –Donofthedead (Cat Food Money) review from la cosa nuestro V/A "DEADLY RHYTHMS FROM THE PRODUCTION LINE" CD One
of the most anticipated releases from Take-Four Collective, Delusion of
Terror Records and Love from Hate Records, this 4-way split features
two bands from the Philippines and two from California, although Eskapo
is definitely a Pinoy hardcore punk band. ISTUKAS OVER
DISNEYLAND kicks off the hostilities with their own brand of fast and
at times melodic politically-charged hardcore punk straight from San
Fernando, Pampanga. This band has definitely improved and changed a lot
since I first saw them. This is their best work to date and it f’n
rocks. The guitar tone reminds me a lot of latter-era Vitamin X, though
less of the fast thrashy riffs of VX. IOD does it best when they sing
in their native tongue. Though you rarely see them at shows, these guys
are one of the best local acts around. Songs about war, the influence
of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in Philippine
policies, minimum wages will definitely have you thinking and checking
out this band for more. LA GRITA comes from California and
proceeds to destroy in the second part of this CD. They blaze through
nine tracks of fast hardcore punk. The lyrics are in Spanish but the
inlay provides for English lyrics. By the way, what happened to the
Spanish lyrics? Songs deal about the capitalist system, propaganda
machinery of the rich and living in the USA as Hispanci minority.
Definitely comparable to classic bands such as Los Crudos and
Huasipungo, in music and lyrics alike. Awesome shit here. KILL
RATIO is up next and they play 7 tracks of From Ashes Rise/Victims
inspired fast hardcore. They have progressed since their demo CD-R and
I think they’re just getting better. They start off with a gun being
cocked and then they click on all four cylinders. Fck yeah. These guys
rip. The dual vocals and haunting melodies are sick. Songs about
poverty and war with the lyrics painting a dark imagery of the chaos to
come. “We march behind a big black hearse carrying with us what used to
be dreams and and passions everything that mattered, maimed and
slaughtered before our eyes, the path we are treading leads to our own
demise, freedom waste away…” This CD coincided with the recent
ESKAPO Pilipinas Tour this January and the aforementioned band blazed
through 7 tracks of more fast hardcore punk to close out this CD. They
start off with ‘Wind of Hell’ from their full-length of the same title.
These guys were awesome live in their recent tour and their previous
full-lengths and they did not disappoint with the songs in this CD.
Songs about military oppression, the International Customs Enforcement,
the effects of World War II and greed. Rupert never fails to amaze me
on how he writes lyrics in the vernacular. I hope they come back next
year. Also, watch out for Echo of Bullets… The packaging of this
CD is done by Mr. Dangleregs and as usual, the guy delivers. Looks a
little like its taken from a Rage Against the Machine video but better.
All in all, this CD is a great representation of what’s happening in
the Pilipinas and California hardcore punk communities and the lyrics
reflect what is happening outside our little punk rock communities.
Listen to this and then grab that sledgehammer. www.myspace.com/delusionofterrorrecords, www.myspace.com/takefourcollective, www.myspace.com/lovefromhatereview from Interpunk.com THE ISTUKAS OVER DISNEYLAND "O GUINU" CD This
is the second album from long-running Philippine punk band the Istukas
Over Disneyland. Through political and personal lyrics backed by punk
music with hardcore, oi, and even pop touches, the band gives you a
glimpse of life in the Philippines. Most songs are in English, but
there are two numbers in Tagalog as well as two in Pampango (a dialect
local to Pampanga) and even a track with English, Spanish, Tagalog, and
Japanese all thrown into one! Also includes of cover of early
Philippine punk legend Dead Ends "Won't Fool Me Again"! Booklet has
lyrics and a brief explanation of each song's lyrical meaning. review from Plastic Bomb (plastic-bomb.de) THE ISTUKAS OVER DISNEYLAND/CRASHED OUT SPLIT CD In
Asia condemns much does. Not only on the slave market, where western
companies from Profitgeilheit are active. There is enormous Punkszenen
with hundreds in Indonesia and on the Philippines volume, usually
unconsidered from the western Punk municipality. That has naturally
partially also its reason. Because what one gets to hear from there, is
often only poorer to centralmagnificent standard. From sound, of the
playful talents the volume and the texts written often in already
embarrassingly bad English. From the Philippines comes volume with the
grottenschlechten name a ISTUKAS OVER DISNEYLAND. They play
obliging/pleasing, quite good Oi! - Punk with correct texts, which like
so often are however in terribly bad English. CRASHED OUT from
Indonesia play a quite ill-considered mix from Anarcho Punk Hardcore
Oi! with very political texts. Their sound is often only a raw,
matschiger mash. One actually does not bring today times more than
Demotape to Sowas raus. To that extent the hearing benefit is badly
diminished. A durchwachsene CD with more shade than light. Micha. - In
schlechtem Englisch verfassten Texten.
CRASHED OUT aus
Indonesien spielen einen recht unausgegorenen Mix aus
Anarcho-Punk-Hardcore-Oi! mit sehr politischen Texten. Ihr Sound ist
oft nur ein roher, matschiger Brei. Sowas bringt man heute eigentlich
nicht mal mehr als Demotape raus. Insofern ist der Hörgenuss arg
geschmälert. Eine durchwachsene CD mit mehr Schatten als Licht. Micha.- review from Filibusteros distro THE ISTUKAS OVER DISNEYLAND "O GUINU" CD Disc
of this band of punk is the Second/rock of the Philippines. A situation
very similar to ours, poverty, drug trafficking and fights, do that we
pruned to identify to us with this group. Plenty of desire, very good
ideas and brotherhood, we hoped to continue distributing its music. It
is worth the pain oírlos and to read them.
oírlos y leerlos. review from Slug and Lettuce #85 THE ISTUKAS OVER DISNEYLAND "O GUINU" CD This
is an old school sounding punk band from the Philippines and it's
pretty good. It kind of reminds me of early 80's punk with an Oi
melodic sing along quality to it. They sing mostly in English but i
really love the few songs that are in Pilipino. I really enjoy the way
non English lyrics change what would often be a pretty normal punk song
into something a bit different! These lyrics are pretty political and
deal with punk topics like DIY and being anti-patriotic. I really like
not only the music but the fact that it's from a place i don't hear a
lot of music from. There is even a Dead Ends cover. (cat food money
records/www.catfoodmoney.org) (europian) review from Profane Existence double issue #50/51 THE ISTUKAS OVER DISNEYLAND "O GUINU" CD We
get 17 tracks (including a live set tacked onto the end of the disc) of
PunkFuckingRock/Hardcore on this compact disc that came all the way
from the Philippines. Most of the vocals are done in English but there
are a handful of tracks where the vocals are sung in their native
language. They have included explanations of each song in English so
even if we don't know the words from certain tracks we still know what
they're talking about. They have also included a good cover of "Won't
Fool Me Again" by the Dead Ends. There's lotsa catchy stuff on this
that you can sing along with as well as plenty of fastcore shit that
gives this a nice edgy feel. The religious imagery on the front and
back cover kinda threw me at first, but when you take a closer look at
the words and music it makes sense. Check it out. (Ciderpunk) review from Incidental Afterthought #6 THE ISTUKAS OVER DISNEYLAND "O GUINU" CD This
is the best Filipino Oi album ever. The artwork is genuinely Filipino ,
which captures the essence because i've gotten my hands on a great
album that's played by people who have no other reason but being so
immensely passionate about (underground) music. My favorite song here
is "Game Over", a song that tackles the popularity of sports but what
it really supports. Yes, this song is similar in content with Void's
"Organized Sports", though not in decibels. (laurence) review from Pasazer #? THE ISTUKAS OVER DISNEYLAND "S/T" CDR When
i received record/band from the Philippines (do you know where is this?
far?) i expect big exotic, but it's familiar punk. Only one song is in
their language, and the rest is in English like everywhere. The CD
includes two materials from 2001 and 2004, all 17 songs are their
complete discography. The most songs sound like new bands who play 77,
and looks nice. All fans of punk 77, street punk or Oi! should get this
music "Made in Philippines". Although new materials have some shouted
songs in old MDC style. I think in shouted songs, like in many Polish
bands. All materials sounds good, but it was not record in good studio.
Even in Eastern Europe are better studio but maybe there was good
achievement? When i see the band's name, I'm curious if they are a fan
of the band, Dickies? Nikudan Records (Poland) jappunk@wp.pl (Bezkoc) review from We're Gonna Fight #3 THE ISTUKAS OVER DISNEYLAND "Demo" Cassette Tape Ups!
that is a weird review to do, well i am in contact with Francis, the
very nice involved Philipino skinhead and so i asked to hear his band
cos it is existing since 7 years i think? so it is a very powerful evil
dark trash to death over metal or a street punk band i don't remember.
Well with a mid-tempo rhythm and nice bass lines. Unfortunitelu on this
recording we almost can't hear the guitar and that is spoiling the
songs (hey it is a demo!) with raw & noisy one it would be perfect!
(I understand me!) We have a the Partisans and a Cock Sparrer cover.
Hopefully there are 2 songs which have a studio sound and we can see
that this band deserve really more, seriously! Oh yes there is a great
reggae/ska song. Plus the lyrics are sometimes really great (for a
street punk band, who still guessed it was a dark metal..?), so yes a
cliche songs like party/drink and one against rich kids going to clubs
(equivalent of 'Nuit Blanche'!) but really anti state/police songs and
read the lyrics explanation of Sex Scandal elsewhere. That is really
what i think a "true Oi! working class is! (995 chances to read an
interview in WGF #4). Seb

Humeur actuelle : fou
Tell me about your band-inspirations, favorite bands, brief history of IOD, concerts, recordings?..
Francis: Hello how are you? Gerald and I will answer all of the questions prepared by Sopel as Jake and Joel are busy at the moment so they couldn't answer. We are the Istukas over Disneyland based in San Fernando, Pampanga (2 hour bus ride from Manila City – Capital of the Philippines). The band started in May 1994 and a lot of changes occurred within the line up of the band. We've been inspired to form the band when the first DIY gig held here in San Fernando entitled "Punk Reigns 1994" where we played along with Depth Charger, Good for Nothing, Bad Omen, Nancy's Donut, Bad Breaths, Bihag ni Bahag and other local Punk bands. At first we cover songs from several western seminal bands and in 1996 we concentrated on composing original songs about friendship, police brutality, unity, politics and other cliché songs. In 2001 we recorded our debut album with monetary help from our friend Sebastian Gonnot. We release the Istukas over Disneyland "All been said before" CDR under our distribution called Love from Hate and the same album was release this year (2005) as a split CD with Crashed Out (Indonesia) under Kepala Eskorbuta Records (www.xwgfx.free) and Maloka Distro (www.malokadistro.com). The 2nd CD entitled "O Guinu" (Oh Lord) was release last August 2005 under Cat Food Money Records (www.catfoodmoney.org) and Chris Leger also re-release the bands debut album on his label and Remik Tobys from Poland including 7 songs from the 2nd CD. Basically the band played several gigs in near by provinces in Central Luzon, we've got a lot of good friends in Tarlac City, Bataan, Malolos City, Manila and the farthest gig we've ever played is in Lucena City, Quezon Province. I really like The Business, Angelic Upstarts, Autonomia, Vitamin X, Post Regiments, Feud, Forgiveness Denied, Aggressive Dog Attack, Red Corpse, Infa-Riot, Guitar Gangsters, Cock Sparrer, Dead Ends, Nation on Fire and loads more. Being a band In the Philippines is really tough. The Economy is very low and a lot of Corrupt Officials in the Government are still enjoying themselves. The minimum wage here is 239.50 pesos equivalent to $4.00 dollars. Imagine how we could possibly buy records abroad and we only depend from someone who could afford them and copy those records and distribute. As of now, the present line up is consisting of Gerald Miranda (drums/vocals), Joel Dizon (guitar/vocals) from the local band, Spit End; Jake Maglanque (bass/vocals) and Francis Jordann David (vocals).
Gerald: Ok, we're a Punk Rock band from the ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Philippines with different influences; we expressed our lyrics in our daily lifestyle, Political shits. Inspirations? Hmm… my family, my band and lifestyle of being a DIY Punk. Fave Bands? Red London, Cock Sparrer, the Business, The Adicts, Dropkick Murphys, Toy Dolls, Opcio K-95, No Violence, Mad Ball, Agnostic Front, Rancid, $1.09, Ambassadors, NFG, Spit End, Feud, Play, Distillers, Fast Times, Ataris, Gameface, etc. I don't have much time to specify their country and genre but I think some of them you already knew them so catch them up because their great bands.
The name Istukas over Disneyland came from an album of an old American band 'The Dickies?
Francis: Actually I was surprise when I heard about the Dickies having an album with the same name. The name was given to us by my cousin and he told us it is a book but until now I haven't seen the book if it is indeed true? We're already a band when I heard it. You'll notice that in our name its spells "The Istukas over Disneyland" whilst the Dickies album "Stukas over Disneyland".
What about you sing in IOD songs? In your opinion if Punk must be Political, maybe only provoking, if only playing for fun? A problem that young people in the Philippines has?
Francis: To tell you truth, the songs I wrote on the 1st recordings are cliché while on the 2nd album I kind of change some topics like anti-homophobic, respecting one's choice, poverty, media, blind followers, anti-patriotism, Third World Punk/Hardcore Scene, etc. of course most of the songs from several Punk bands are provoking especially when you see/witness/experience something you don't like that's makes you angry and that's normal but what is not normal is when bands contradict. Yeah its true even our band experience this contradiction and I always discuss our lyrics to my band mates to hear their opinions on certain topics. I believe that even though you're not in a band, just a normal person (if there is still normal in this world?) should practice what you preach may it be Political, Personal, Environmental, And Social because no one can prove it but yourself. Every one of us makes mistakes and it is not too late to correct them and learn from them. About playing for fun? Of course we should have fun whenever we play in a band and it will be stupid to play when you're not happy anymore. I am not so sure about the last part of the question but if you're asking about Punk? When people organize gigs, some Punk's wanted to get in the venue without paying the entrance fee while you'll see them buying liquor and cigars. This must be stop because organizing a gig is very hard and the fact that in the Philippines, gigs are held once in a blue moon because the cost of renting a venue, musical instruments, etc. are expensive. 30 pesos (below $1.00) entrance fee is still not enough to cover all the expenses and most of the time we shoulder all the expenses, it is stupid to say that we the organizers are making money when we organize an event. Here in Pampanga, all of the bands contribute money for organizing a gig and in reality we don't have the money so our friends/bands contribute. I hope people will open their eyes and never be blind anymore. On the other hand, young people in the Philippines are having a hard time in finding a decent job and the unemployment rate is still growing not to mention young children working on dumpsters, begging money on streets, stevedores on docks, making firecrackers, etc. because their irresponsible parents are busy gambling and drinking beer on the street corners.
Gerald: I am trying my best to do what was written and sung in our lyrics but sometimes of course I can't do them. But every time I woke up in the morning am trying my very best to apply all the lyrics we sung in our daily lives and all the struggles that we've encountering.
Tell me about the beginning of Punk Scene in the Philippines. I know the first bands came into existence in 1980 are the Jerks and Chaos.
Francis: I'm not sure when was the beginning of Punk Scene in the Philippines? But I read in a fanzine, Radio jock Howlin Dave of DZRJ-AM 810 play punk rock music on his air time in 1978 and eventually DZRJ AM got the rights to air BBC London's "Rockline" which featured the music of the Sex Pistols, Boomtown Rats, the Clash, etc. I don't know if there are already punk bands, fanzines, distros, independent labels, production of that year? I think, the Jerks formed in 1980 and two of their original songs were "Romantic Kill" and "Big Deal" could be heard then on DZRJ's "Pinoy Rock and Rhythm" program which is still plays local Punk/HC/SKA/OI! Bands up to now, every Saturday 5-6pm. I don't know if the Jerks release an EP back then. If they did, I'm sure it was limited edition, and in the nineties, they finally released a live at Mayrics album and Star Records (Major label) released a full length album of the Jerks. I think Chaos was formed in 1981. Guitarist, Tommy Tanchanco is one at the brains behind Brave New World concert series and Twisted Red Cross. Chaos released a LP entitled "Now Move for Error" on Dyna/Tower label under the name "Third World Chaos".
Many people from the Philippines are living and working in USA. 1980 in New York City come start activity of a Philippine Punk band, Betrayed. Joey Santiago (guitarist) of the very popular rock band, the Pixies was born in Manila and later emigrates in America.
Francis: Yes many Filipinos are living and working in the USA. Most of them are emigrants and I think the first Filipino family lives in the USA are Ilocanos (native people from Ilocos Province, Luzon Islands). As of now, a demand of Nurses, Care Givers and Teachers are needed in America and a lot of Filipinos are applying for a working visa and even doctors are enrolling Nursing Course to be a Nurse to work in America because of the high paying job. And not only in the USA , wherein you can find Filipinos who are working and living abroad but also in the Middle EastJapan< st1:place>, Italy, Taiwan, Great Britain, Malaysia, France, etc. because in reality living in the Philippines right now is a survival. I think the original lines up of Betrayed are emigrants in the USA, Eddie Siojo, Buddy Trinidad and Chris Carrere. Eddie and Buddy took Betrayed in New York with two American members, and they have released their second album entitled "Again" on major label record with re-edition of their old betrayed songs. Betrayed is still around and they had released a two songs CDEP with the new version of the song "Never Again" and I guess a new album will be out soon. Buddy Trinidad (guitarist) host a one hour Punk/HC radio show entitled "Time Bomb" every Wednesday at 9pm on DWNU 107 FM radio. Hey thank you for the information Sopel; I never knew there is a Filipino member of the band Pixies. Well as of the moment in California (where most of Filipino emigrants live) a growing Filipino-American emigrants had formed their own Punk bands like Signal 3 (rip), Eskapo (rip), Flatt Bush, Kadena, Incapacitate, Secret Janet, Exit Wounds, US of Shit, Dogs of IRE, and a lot more. For more information visit www.flattbush.com, www.kadena.NY.com, www.eskapo.com .
Tell me in details about Punk bands and Punks from years 1982-1990: Dead Ends, Wuds, Sex Militants, Urban Bandits, Philippine Violators, Third World Chaos, G.I. and the Idiots, RDA, Private Stock. And about Twisted Red Cross. I heard about the project "Tribute to TRC". What is this?
Francis: Dead Ends had managed to release three albums under Twisted Red Cross "Complaints, Second Coming and Dammed Nation". They had released an album in the nineties entitled "Mamatay Sa Ingay". Jay Dimalanta died in the late nineties. His brother Al Dimalanta has a new band called Throw, and they already released their debut album. I remembered in 1994, I saw Dead ends (reformed) in a gig in Manila but this was even before Al Dimalanta sang the chorus of the song "Johnny loves Hardcore he faint. Wuds "Armstalk" was released under Twisted Red Cross and in the nineties they have released their second album entitled "At Nakalimutan ang Diyos" produced by Folk singer Heber Bartolome. I couldn't recall their two new albums but I think the one is entitled "Giyera" (war). Wuds are still playing until now. Sex Militants- I only heard three songs from them on the V/A-Rescue Ladders and Human Barricades and Brave New World live. I don't think they have managed to release an album. I remember we cover their song "Bloody Nutter". Urban Bandits- their album entitled "Independence Day- it's the Urban Bandits" was released under Twisted Red Cross. Their front man Arnold Morales is the guitarist of Put3ska. Philippine Violators "At Large" was released under Twisted Red Cross. Espiritu brothers had their record label "Rare Music Distributor" and they had released their second album "State of Confusion" and third album "Third Offense". Their label also re-released foreign punk records and I think they have released new records in the late nineties. My friend Lino Nueva (No Pressure) is their drummer right now. They reformed early this year. Third World Chaos- I think they had managed to release an EP besides their full length, and they had two songs on the TRC compilation series entitled "Third Bombardment". Their guitarist managed a new wave band in the nineties and I think he managed a female solo artist these days. G.I. and the Idiots- their "Fascinating World of Garbage" was released under Twisted Red Cross. They reformed in the nineties and had managed to release their second album entitled "Technology Eats the World" and a Christmas song on MFP. Their vocalist formed a new band with an ex-IOV member called Hard Kulangot and two of their songs are featured on the compilation album entitled "Underground Music for Underground Creature" under Middle Finger Productions. Their guitarist is a sound engineer, and recently played in a band called "Gut Reaction". R.D.A. – "Brave United in Trust" was released under TRC. I even heard their new songs in the late nineties on Pinoy Bato AM Radio show and their featured in a compilation called "Up Yours" under Middle Finger Productions. I had an interview with them on my fanzine called "Notorious" in 2000. They are still playing up to now. Private Stock- Hype's Cool" was released under Payola Records. I haven't heard this record and I think they only produce limited copies. I only heard four songs from them on the compilations. They also reformed in the nineties but never release a second album. Twisted Red Cross had managed to release 17 records and they are hard to find. I think limited copies were press back then. But in the nineties some of the TRC released were re-issued a cassette tapes which is great because those records are so rare and for us it helps document the eighties Pinoy Punk Scene even though they didn't re-issued all 17 records. Well, now with the vast majority of Punk using cheap virgin CDs, you can find all 17 TRC Records available with colored cover on CD-R which is cool but I haven't started collecting them hehehe. Oh the "Tribute to TRC" is the brain child of Jon Fishbone (Bad Omen) and I think he already planned it in the late nineties. As of now, he is looking for a label who might get interested in producing this project because MFP has no budget. According to him, 15 bands already submitted their version of TRC under signed bands. Feud did a trash version of G.I. and the Idiots "We Can't Get Along", Marcos Cronies did reggae – horn driven version of Betrayed "To Jamming", Bad Omen did Ethic Faces "Lokal Boy" and we did Dead Ends "Won't Fool Me Again" which also featured in our second CD entitled "O Guinu" under Cat Food Money Records. If anyone who's running a DIY label, distro and are interested in producing this "Tribute to TRC" project may contact me at the address below.
In the nineties, are there many Philippine bands playing? I only know Street Punk bands like Philippine Violators, Putang-I-Nas and Bad Omen.
Francis: Oh! Yes, there are a lot of bands formed in the nineties. The good thing is it went regional and you can find underground bands in the provinces not like in the eighties, you can only find Punk bands in Manila. In the early nineties, there were bands like The Next, Bad Omen, Psychotic Change, Askals, Deceased (Never Rest In Peace under TRC), Septic Tank, Mongoloids, Dead Sperm, Depth Charger, Biofeedback (Hard times debut album and soon T4C will release a Tribute to Biofeedback), Good for Nothing, General Luna, Aggressive Dog Attack, The Istukas Over Disneyland, Red Corpse, Drain Brain, Abrasive Relations, Critics, Free for All and loads more. Some are already broken up and others are still active up to these days. Most of the bands in the nineties had managed to record their songs and were featured on various compilations and rehearsals which are cheaper to produce. Putang-I-Nas are supposedly to release a spilt cassette tape with the Cantoots but never materialized. Middle finger Production is responsible with this project but Jon Fishbone told me they don't have budget, simply because of high cost of living in the Philippines. You see a lot of projects are being schedule to be released but the monetary fund is the reason why such a project couldn't be produce. Same goes to Bad Omen, they already have several songs but couldn't record and they just released their third album in the late nineties. Jon Fishbone runs an Info shop in Manila and their busiest Punk band playing gigs around Metro Manila.
Tell me about contemporary Punk Scene in the Philippines in the 21st century? Punk, Oi!, Hardcore, Psychobilly...
Francis: Okay! As I've said a while ago, the scene went regional in the early nineties and 21st century. Baguio City- Defiant, Limit Break, Prayer of Endurance, Almost Heroes. Urdaneta, Pangasinan- The Kids Are Drunk, Free Admission. Tarlac City- Red Corpse, ASP, Bootleggers. Pampanga- Marcos Cronies, Spit End, The Istukas Over Disneyland, Promise End, Amanova. Zambales- Beer break, Excruciate, Dissimulate, Down from the Wound. Bataan- No Pressure, Mason, Span. Bulacan- Play, Harmful if Swallowed, Despite our Defects. Metro Manila- The Beauty of Doubt, Throw, Strap on 7 inch, By Storm, Stand fast, Disabuse, Coarse, etc.. Laguna- Aggressive Dog Attack, Divided We Fall, George Estregan. Cavite- Feud, Richard Collier, Take Action, YFC. Batangas- Sauna, Settle Down, Forgiveness Denied. Lucena City, Quezon Province- Chokecocoi, Catalepsies. Bicol- Hemp. Cebu City (Visayas Island) - Minority Blocks, Left of Center, Shrapnel, Iligan and Davao City. In the nineties a lot of editors publish their fanzine even I did publish too but in the early 21st century, the scene concentrated on producing local bands recordings and even in a single year no one publish succeeding issue of their fanzine except the Conspiracy and other unknown fanzines with limited distribution. Now you can easily find records from distros and labels such as Counter flow, Take 4 Collectives, NSA Records, BulacanCore Records, Dirty Shoes, SRA Records, Boi Baboy Records, Love from Hate, All in one distro, Rail Road Records, Shameless Records, Red Core distro. Info shop like Punk Skate Co., Radiation Area, High Minded Shop, Northern Territory. New fanzines like Double Trick, No Label, Why Sit down, Not 4 Sale, Thought Market, Timeless, Filter, Mind Blown. Actually, there are a lot of Punk and hardcore bands in the Philippines, even Emo. For Oi!, there is the Varackos, Tartars while Psychobilly? hhmmm…. Camote Chunks- rockability style like the Stray Cats.
Gerald: The Punk Scene here in the Philippines is pretty well and fine, still there are so many Punk bands, New School and Old School. There are a lot of supporters to the scene/gigs/events, etc. especially in the provinces.
What can you say about the band Put3Ska and other Ska bands in your land?< P>
Francis: Put 3 Ska had managed to release two albums "Self-titled" and "Manila Finest". This band has a lot of line up changes and they had a new song back in the nineties with a new vocalist on a compilation under Simmer down. There is no doubt Put3Ska started a vast followers of Ska and even in the late nineties up to these days. I think they are the brains of production called ClubSka where they organize Ska gigs on various club around Metro Manila particularly Freedom Bar and Mayrics. Although, they were banned because of fights among Skinheads and Punks (Correct me I'm wrong ClubSka organizer). I just heard the band already broke up. Their former vocalist recently reformed the Brown Beat All stars and their keyboard player formed a Mod band called Juan Pablo Dream. The Philippine Ska scene is blooming once again and a lot of Ska bands formed recently. Here in Pampanga, our friend, Marcos Cronies are aiming for their debut album and they are featured on Shameless Records compilation and "Skaciety" CDEP. I only know Ska bands like Harmful if Swallowed, Spam, Trick or Treat, False Alarm, Shuffle Union, Coffee Break Island, Ruska, Skabeche, Joy Junktion, Space Flower, Nevertheless, Punk Cow, Scumbugs, Humble Sauce, Banana Mangoes. And oh there is another production organizing gigs and they recently released a compilation, I think the outfit is called Ska City United.
Gerald: Put 3 Ska, their great and has potential. I like the way they play their music, the beat and lyrics are so catchy. Sad to say they already broken up. The Ska bands in the Philippines are very good musicians and on their gigs, Punks dance to their music, especially Marcos Cronies definitely good.
Would you like to say something about the Philippines especially for Polish Punks and Skinheads? Francis: First of all, I would like to say thank you in behalf of the band, Sopel for this trip to the past interview and Remik for his support to the band. Also Remik had released a DIY Record of the Istukas over Disneyland for Poland please check it out. I have known great bands in Poland from Remik and Refuse Records and I hope you'll keep on supporting our local scene and our distro Love from Hate is duplicating Polish Punk bands to be distributed here in the Philippines. If you want to hear Philippine Punk bands, you can write us and let's trade. Poland and Philippine has similarity problem concerning economic situation, but I think the Philippines has the worst. To the people of Polish scene, we want to say hello and am encouraging you all to check out the Scene here in the Philippines. As for the band, we've experienced changes, our good friend Jake (who is our guitarist) will replace me to handle the bass and I'll be concentrating on vocals and we would like to thank Gerald Miranda and Joel Dizon of Spit End for their endless support. I hope this December we could record our new songs. Please write us: The Istukas over Disneyland/ Love from Hate. Blk. 6 Lot 21 Ph.1, St. Jude Village, San Fernando Pampanga 2000, the Philippines. 05 - Generacion Perdida "1997-2003 Discografia" CDR
Generacion Perdida (Lost Generation) is from Lima, Peru that plays Anarcho Punk Rock with anti-capitalist, anarchist ideals, animal liberation, and anti-government lyrics sung in Spanish. This Philippine discography release includes 28 songs from their split cassette tape with Irreverentes, Contra toda Autoridad Resistencia Anarcopunk and Anarcopunks contra el Estado 2003 albums including their version of "Anarko Punk" by Desobidiencia Civil.
04 - Apatia No/Autonomia Split CDR
Raging Latino Hardcore band from Caracas, Venezuela, Apatia No (No Apathy) meets Melodic Punk Rock with Radical Lyrics, Autonomia (Autonomy) from Lima, Peru. The songs of Apatia No where taken from their "El Ruido De Antes… Contra Los Opresores De Siempre" CD release by Skuld Releases and Alerta Antifacista. Most of their songs (with new recordings) are political, anti-capitalist, environmental, gender issues and DIY with male/female vocals while Autonomia's "Luchar Y Resistir" early cassette tape is featured in this split CDR release for the Philippines.
03 - Uliczny Opryszek/Tank Girl Split CDR
Uliczny Opryszek (Street Ruffians) is been in the Polish Scene for almost 15 years of their existence. Known for their Punk/Oi roots, their lyrics deal with Catholicism, their views in the Iraq War, Politicians and typical punk and skinhead lyrics. Tank Girl is Rai Ko Ris side project from Kathmandu, Nepal. This Girl fronted punk rock band sings about child abuse, prostitution, domestic violence, the war on the countryside and including their rendition of X-Ray Spex "I live off you". Recorded at Rai Ko Ris rehearsal studio using a condenser microphone, certainly DIY. This band is one on my list.
02 - Spit End "Wises is he who he knows that he doesn't know" CDR
Supposedly release on cassette tape by a Malay friend who back out due to marketable fret but instead, release it on CDR, which is first, came out in Malaysia before the Philippines. At last the Philippine version is finally released the debut album from this Punk/Hardcore band with a touch of Emo (from a personal point of view) that contains 12 songs including their rendition of Urban Bandit's "Blood on every Heart". Their songs are about their love ones, betrayal, hacienda luisita, the authorities and corruption in the legislative department while two of their songs are sung in Tagalog and Pampango native dialect. As of now the band has a new vocalist and expect more melodically sound from this band very soon. DIY not EMI Production and Love from Hate collaborative effort.
01 - The Istukas over Disneyland "All been said before" CDR
After 9 years, this Capampangan band finally release their debut album with 10 Punk Rock songs also featured on the Split CD with Crashed Out from Indonesia release by Maloka Distro and Kepala Eskurbota Records (France) and the said album was also re-released by Nikudan Records (Poland) and Cat Food Money Records (Texas). The lyrics deal with the Police, Child Abuse, betrayed hopes and typical skinhead lyrics stuff that you already heard. It comes in a professionally done photocopy layout with DIY touch.

Pampanga Scene Report 2006 (Philippines)
History, Culture, Tradition…
The Province of Pampanga is located in Central Luzon bounded by Provinces such as Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan and Bulacan. It takes 1 and a half hour bus ride from Manila City. The Province has a population of about 1, 618,759 and land area of 218,068 while fifty one percent of the area is devoted to agriculture; land utilization is fast shifting to the urban mode. San Fernando is the capital town of Pampanga. Juan Capitan Fernando, a Spanish cavalry officer on August 31, 1775, founded it. He named it in the honor of the soldier-saint, King Ferdinand III of Spain. In June 1991, Mount Pinatubo volcano awakened from a five-century slumber. Devastating lahars, unleashed by heavy monsoon rains have scrambled down from the flanks of the volcano wreaked huge losses to towns like Bacolor, located in the heart of the province was among the most affected areas. Pampanga has sites of World War II like the Death March Marker, which is now the railroad station in San Fernando. The start of the horrendous train ride of Death March marchers en route to Capas, Tarlac. Kamikaze Museum located at the residence of the noted Pampango artist, Dan H. Dizon. It has World War II mementos, particularly those of Kamikaze pilots of Japan. Other interesting facets of the Museum are the different helmets used by the Axis and Allied powers of World War II. The Malaya Lolas of Mapaniqui, Candaba, victims of mass rape during World War II. The Malaya Lolas were abducted and then raped by Japanese Soldiers after witnessing the massacre of their men folk. With only 70 members remaining, they are asking the Japanese Government for public apology. The Philippines is the only Catholic country in Asia and people are very religious in terms of folk festivals and tradition like the Apu Iru Fluvial Procession in Apalit begins June 28 when the ivory-faced image of Saint Peter, sitting on the papal throne, is transferred by boat from its permanent shrine in Calapangan to Sulipan, and ends June 30 when it is returned. Thousands of devotees line both sides of the river shouting, waving leaves and flowers and splashing in frenzy as the layered pagoda bearing the statue passes by. The floating pagoda, which bears not only the statue but also brass band and about 70 people dancing the kuraldal, is pulled not by a tugboat but by swimmers, who call themselves the Knights of St. Peter. One incident happens when the pagoda sink into the river because of over loading of people riding on it. The Kuraldal of Sasmuan occurs during the week of the town fiesta on January 6, when Kapampangans (people of Pampanga) from neighboring towns gather in front of the Chapel of St. Lucy and dance for favors all night. As soon as the Mass ends at 8 P.M., the brass band signals the start of non-stop dancing that lasts till 3 A.M. barren women are said to get pregnant after the festival, but with all savage gyrating that the womb takes, one should not wonder anymore. The Aguman Sanduk of Minalin is celebrated in the afternoon of January 1, while the rest of the country takes a nap after the New Year's Eve revelry, and there's no one to catch the boys and men of this sleepy fishing town wear their mother's lipstick and put on their wives dresses. This strange and largely secret tradition began in 1934; even mayors and parish priests are said to have also joined hundreds of men who parade annually in the street in full transvestite bloom. At the end of the day they choose the Aguman queen, who is usually the ugliest of the cross-dressers. It's part parody of Kapampangan machismo and Pampangan pulchritude, two biases enshrined on the altar of Kapampangan values; it's part protest against, and liberation from, gender discrimination and repression; it's part attempt to stage their version of the Gay Parade. Biyernis Santu (Good Friday) is the holiest day in Catholic Churches, but definitely not in the puni-makeshift alternative chapels where folk Kapampangans hold their alternative Holy Week rituals. Here they read the pasyun (the bible of the masses) and welcome hundreds of flagellants who insist on mutilating themselves instead of just go to confession to ask forgiveness of their sins. The stark contrast between the pomp and pageantry of Catholic rituals in churches, and the raw, bloody folk practices in the streets. In the Madapdap Resettlement, populated by uprooted Bacolor families, there's a shocking road show where men pursue and beat up a cross-bearer, followed by a series of crucifixions. In Magalang, penitents crawl like worms on the dirt road for several kilometers, rubbing and bruising their skin and covering their bodies with dust.
Environment…
The Bird Sanctuary of Candaba has migratory egrets and indigenous birds like the rare salaksak and batala can be observed especially in the dry months when the fishponds in the swamp turn into rice fields. That's the time when large numbers of egrets descend on shallow pools teeming with snails and small fish. A dust-choked side trip deep into the pinak (swamp) will lead to villages located on the demarcation line between Pampanga and Bulacan. The Agricultural Sectors are monitoring migratory birds who are believe bringing the Avian Influenza or commonly known as Bird Flu. The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) has decided to limit its geo-hazard study of Central Luzon to 19 municipalities exposed to landslides from the Sierra Madre Mountain ranges at the region's eastern seaboard. The MGB identified 40 towns in Pampanga for geo-hazard assessment due to an expected rainy La Nina phenomenon this year. In its initial list, the MGB included the following places in its geo-hazard study: Masantol, Macabebe, Sasmuan, Minalin, Sto. Tomas, Apalit, Lubao, Floridablanca, Porac, Mabalacat, Magalang and the City of San Fernando, all in Pampanga. But people in the usually flood-prone plains say they are already used to flooding, and some of them even welcome floods, which provide them with rich fishing grounds. It would be alright for them to shift their concentration on the landslide prone areas. Landslides lead to more fatalities than floods.
Economy…
The minimum wage rate in Pampanga is 239.50 pesos ($4.70) per day. When the US Bases left the Country, Clark Economic Zone (one of the bases of the Americans) in Angeles City created jobs to near by towns and even near by provinces. San Fernando has gained economic growth when it was declared a City but we could not hide the fact that most of Filipinos are working abroad to support their families because this is the only chance they have to give their families back home a better living even though they're far away from their wife and children's. Imagine the wage rate per day while supporting 4 children's.
Politics…
Well I guess the defeated Candidates for Mayors last 2004 in San Fernando City Elections will wait next year to run again after the Commission on Election re-counts the ballot boxes last year. The defeated Candidates said that there where mass cheating on the last May 2004 Elections. The Vice-Governor of Pampanga has accused the Governor of pay-offs from quarries in Bacolor and Porac, which should be use for the Provincial Funds. The cost of one truckload of sand is 300 pesos (if am not mistaken) while Commission on Audit gave the jurisdiction case to the Ombudsman.
The Scene…
The first band I saw in 1992 are the Holocaust playing Anarchy in the UK and Boy's don't Cry at the foundation day of Pampanga High School (where I took my secondary) and they were the guest in that battle of the bands. I got in contact with them and at that time, they disbanded and other members formed Nancy's Donut and Bihag ni Bahag. The first ever-DIY gig held in San Fernando was the Punk Reigns and I do believe that gig started a crack in history and development of our local scene here in Pampanga. Among the band's were Bad Breaths, Smell my Brief, Mother Toix, Dead Marcos, The Unknown, Nancy's Donut, the Istukas over Disneyland, Boredom, Frustrated Youth and Bihag ni Bahag. Nancy's Donut, Bad Breaths and Bihag ni Bahag were given a slot to represent the province of Pampanga for the Compilation entitled "Building Bridges Breaking down Walls" under Middle Finger Production. Yeah it's true, almost all of the bands started in schools and from there I meet the band's of University of the Assumption like Urban Assault, Pedro's Playground, Public System and Sisihin ang Kalbo while at Don Bosco Academy are Pope John Paul and the Addicts. I admit the scene in Pampanga (concentrated in San Fernando City and Angeles City) is musically oriented; there are no info shops, squats, radical spaces and collectives on those days. You can easily spot the local bands on schools, battle of the bands, concerts and every Saturday, band members could be seen on Mc Donald Intersection conducting meetings. They even name the Scene of Pampanga, Awakening Echo of 1994 and later change to the Pampanga Notorious Scene. In 1995-1996 new bands like Kristine and the Psychomotic Disorder, Itty Bitty Tittys, The Great Morons, Parents and the Rebel Kids, Crazy Beat are making moves but the truth is the local bands in San Fernando are divided because of pity old school mentality. I publish notorious fanzine in 1996 and the first issue was mostly interviews of local bands in Pampanga and some are clippings taken from foreign magazines, it reaches 10 issues and I stop publishing the fanzine in 2000. The 11th issue is nearly finished but when I decided to work it out in my cousins PC, they accidentally deleted the files. My ex-band mate fanzine Middle Class has release 3 issues, Scanner Brain publish by Jaydee (ex-Robinhood Crew) only reaches 3 issues, his brother Jonah publishes Kulangot has reaches 9 issues if am not mistaken and Nerry of Marcos Cronies, Raw Meat fanzine only reaches 2 issues. As of now there is no fanzine being publish in Pampanga. In the period of 1996 to 2000, new bands are formed from the ashes of the old bands like Front Action Group, The Rejecteds, Popo and the Coots, Marcos Cronies, Chrome, Cross the Line, Robinhood Crew, Cocktones while DIY gigs were held on function halls, on our friends house but once in a blue moon because the rental of musical equipment, venues are already expensive. Most of the local bands concentrated on playing gigs in nearby provinces and cities like in Tarlac City, Bataan, Bulacan, Lucena City and Manila. Recording Studios are very rare in Pampanga, bands manage to record their demos on walk man recorder whenever they rehearsing and in the late nineties, rehearsal studios manage to offer 4 track recorders but some of the new bands travel to Manila to record their songs on a decent recording studio. Lost demos of Urban Assault, Cocktones, Kristine and the Psychomotic Disorder, the Istukas over Disneyland, Robinhood Crew, Front Action Group, the Rejecteds and the Great Morons, few of these demos are now on my hands and I hope the long proposed Pampanga Compilation will come to reality? To tell you the truth, the local bands were more interested in playing covers songs from their favorite bands rather than composing their original songs that's why most of them didn't had the chance to record their original songs before they disbanded. I still remember this Compilation cassette tape entitled "Tatlo laban sa Sistema" (3 against the System) from Angeles City, I haven't got the chance to get a copy (maybe because of lack of distribution, few copies were pressed) and the only band I remember on that Compilation are Dead Hungry Species.
DIY bands…
Okay the following bands are located on the Province Cities, San Fernando and Angeles. Where most of the local contacts reside, organize gigs; distribute local and foreign records/fanzines.
Cross the Line plays melodic punk and was formed by Marly and Kevin (ex-the Istukas over Disneyland). Their 2003 rehearsal demo is still out including 8 original songs and I do hope they could release their debut album soon. They recently played at Club Skid Mark last December 2005 and in my opinion they should hit studio to record their beautiful songs. I know Family and School is their main reason but it will be great if they can spare an hour or two to finally record on a decent studio all of their songs. I don't know if they will record 3 songs for the Indonesian Compilation done by a member of Straight on View? Because the guy wanted them to record their songs on a decent studio but I guess the guys are flat broke at the moment?
Kevin Salinas / #457 A. Bonifacio Street, Phase 2 Brgy. Maimpis, San Fernando 2000, Pampanga, Philippines
Promise End this band is a side band of Kevin (Cross the Line) and they have recorded 3 rehearsal songs and I find them similar to Emo bands with screaming voice on the chorus of the song. The last time I saw them was in September 2005 at the "DIY not EMI" gig and from then on I never heard any news from them. I think the band laid low for a while and I do hope they could manage to continue what they have started; a demo is a good start though.
Amanova they recently release their CD-R EP entitled "Colors" and it contains 5 songs melodic punk and Ska. My only comment with their demo is the guitars, Aljay told me that they didn't bring with them instruments and guitar effects, as they know the studio will provide them. Well it will be better to re-record the guitar parts and bring with them effects and am sure this demo will be a stunning re-release. This band is composed of ex-members of Cold Reboot and Struggle for Survival (SFS); damn I lost the demos of these 2 defunct Punk bandsL.
Alfred James Sadeste / Gordon Street, Phase 2 St. Jude Village, City of San Fernando 2000 Pampanga, Philippines or Alfred_james16@yahoo.com
Spit End their debut cassette tape entitled "Wises is he who he knows that he doesn't know" will be release under Nervous Records (Malaysia) this summer. It will contain 12 songs including a rendition of Urban Bandits "Blood on every Heart". I think the band will also produce a Philippine version of their debut album for local distribution, two hundred maybe and it will be produce by DIY not EMI Production and Love from Hate Distribution. They recently joined an Indonesian Compilation and they are about to hit the rehearsal studio for their new songs.
Gerald Miranda / # 476 Phase 2 Brgy. Maimpis, City of San Fernando 2000 Pampanga, Philippines or ghe_88@yahoo.com, spitend@yahoo.com, and visit www.myspace.com/spitend.
The Istukas over Disneyland we've recently recorded 12 new songs with a new line up but we run out of money for mixing the songs that I guess it would take time before we could find money to mix those songs? The band 2nd album "O Guinu" (Oh Lord) was release by Cat Food Money Records (www.catfoodmoney.org) last August 2005 while the Split CD with Crashed Out (Indonesia) was release by Maloka Distro (www.malokadistro.com) and Kepala Eskorbuta Records (http://xwgfx.free.fr) in July 2005. "All been said before" was re-release by Cat Food Money with colored cover on CD-R format while Nikudan Records (Poland) re-release the songs from the band's debut album with 7 songs from "O Guinu" CD.
Francis Jordann L. David / Blk. 6 Lot. 21 Phase 1 St. Jude Village San Fernando 2000 Pampanga, Philippines or infoi_notorious@yahoo.com, jakemaglanque@yahoo.com.
Marcos Cronies they are still in the process on putting the puzzles to finish their debut album. I recently heard their new songs such as Political Man and No Solution and I say this band improved a lot. I think Shameless Records and Love from Hate Distribution will feature these 2 songs on local Compilation. Their "Skaciety" is still out under Shameless Records and recently they played in Baliuag, Bulacan organized by Ska City United. Personally I mind if their vocalist is not well singing Ska songs and normally the guys of Marcos Cronies knows that but I appreciate their effort in running their Ska combo and contribute to the DIY Scene.
Emil Pangilinan / 12-25 Chester Street, Villa Leoncia 2009 Angeles City, Philippines or marcoscronies@yahoo.com
Discrepancies boy this band is a copy right of At the Drive In and I've been seeing them for quit sometime now but I really hope they could record their songs and release a demo. I still remember when they covered "In My Eyes" by Minor Threat and lend us their instruments. I saw them last December 2005 at Club skid Mark and they still stick to At the Drive In musical style.
Alvin Condes / Narra Street corner Malipajo Street, L & S Subdivision 2009 Angeles City, Philippines or cond_s@yahoo.com
Chosen Rejects they didn't played last December 2005 at Club Skid Mark and my friend told me the band is now based in Mabalacat, Pampanga. I think they still play Rancid songs and I don't know if they will release a demo soon?
Ska Haze I haven't saw this new band from Angeles City and Ricky (Marcos Cronies) told me that he help this band recorded 3 songs and they finish recording a 10 song demo. Actually I invited them to join the Pampanga Compilation but they turn it down. Well hope for the best to this new band.
Productions…
Real McCoy responsible for the SOL and Vivisick Philippine tour 2005 in Pampanga with monetary help of course from DIY bands in Angeles City and San Fernando City. Members of Marcos Cronies are behind this production and their last project was at the Club Skid Mark in December 2005 and early January 2006, Punk/Ska/Reggae/Metal shows every Friday and Saturday of the said months but sad to say the owner of the Club wanted to increase the entrance fee and the guys of Marcos Cronies says 'No. Yes it's true, putting up shows in Pampanga now is impossible especially with the big lost of Nicolas Tinio Hall (the only venue who allows Punk and Metal shows with cheaper rental) in Angeles City. Almost all of the productions putting up shows where banned from the Function Hall because of the rumor of sexual indecency near the venue by unidentified gig goers on the Vivisick show according to the Security Guard of Sta. Maria Village. I want to take this opportunity to clear our side from the Gig review of Chronicore fanzine issue no. 5 regarding mandatory contribution to band members. Yes it's true that we ask financial contribution from the Pampanga bands (including us organizers, of course) to put up the SOL and Vivisick Philippine Tour 2005 in Pampanga. All of us question the contribution and debated and some even called it "Band Fee" but in the end we all contributed 500 pesos ($10 dollars) per band to sum up the finances (venue, instruments and even property damage) but still the money isn't enough to cover all the expenses and the organizers had to pay the remaining balance. The only mistake we've made is letting people come in when Vivisick are about to play. You know we don't care about the money; we only want to precede the show and think about the problem later. I know there are a lot of problems in organizing a DIY show and single-by-single we learn from it. I could imagine the headache of other DIY Organizers here in the Philippines.
DIY NOT EMI the first show these guys (Spit End / The Istukas over Disneyland) put up was in September 17, 2005 at St. Jude Multi-Purpose Hall. Actually this gig entitled "DIY not EMI" was cancelled twice because of lack of venue. Yes as the title of the show, DIY as it is. We've rented two speakers, borrowed drums, guitars, bass, amplifiers, and extension cords while the Pampanga Bands contributed monetary help in paying expenses. We accidentally use Marcos Cronies guitar amplifier for the bass guitar, next thing we knew the amplifier broke downL and until now we haven't still pay the guys of Marcos Cronies. It was a lot of fun even though the neighbors wanted the show to be stopped. It is really hard to find a venue to held gigs here in San Fernando and most of the time, their darn expensive. We recently finish the videos taken from SOL and Vivisick Philippine Tour 2005 here in Pampanga and are now distributed by DIY not EMI and Love from Hate on CDR.
Distribution…
Love from Hate small record distribution and you can find them at gigs. It just started last year and we mostly distribute Fanzine, CD-R and few Original CDS. We duplicate records on CD-R, photo-copied the front cover and lay in the lyrics and information from bands like Brigada Flores Magon, Les Partisans, Bolchoi, SMZB, Autonomia, Apatia-No, Los Fastidios, Ya Basta and we still had several records we want to distribute so hoping in the future we could find time to work on them. In one CD-R we include 2 albums from bands to cover the 80 minutes space of a CD-R and sold them for 50 pesos each ($1.00) for local distribution. The first release by LFH was the Istukas over Disneyland "All been said before" in 2003 and this coming summer we will co-production with DIY not EMI Production for the Philippine release version of Spit End "Wises is he who he knows that he doesn't know". The proposed Pampanga Compilation is still under process and hopefully if money allows we could release it soon. It will contain rehearsal and studio recordings from defunct and active DIY bands here in Pampanga.

Arts…
Kalye Lakandula Gallery this Gallery is managing by Bong, his into photography and most of his work are displayed at the gallery located in the heart of Angeles City. The Gallery is conducting a Poetry Reading every year and also Folk Singers and Acoustic Guitar groups conduct shows at the Gallery. I encourage Artist to check out this place and if you're looking for a place to conduct projects like Film showing, meetings, exhibits please visit the Gallery. The guys of Marcos Cronies organize a gig in September 18,2004 at the Gallery entitled "This is Ska, Punk & Oi" but most of the neighbors complain the event and some throw rocks to the people at the Gallery.
Address: Lakandula Street, Pulungbulu, Angeles City.
