Category: Writing and Poetry

Now, I'm all for gushing. More so, I'm all for people gushing about me and my work. My writing, particularly. Here's a wonderful example of one of the few 'fans' I happen to have. I'm sorry, but I just had to share. Especially with the shitty week I've been having:

says:

hey hun! u there?

[ Carol ] says:

Hey, yes, I am

says:

well hi then! --alo how r u doing?

 says:

do u remember me?

[ Carol ] says:

Of course I do

[ Carol ] says:

I think we met in ROSE Online

 says:

exactky...

[ Carol ] says:

And you're from Argentina

 says:

and i owe you my comments on OTK...

[ Carol ] says:

Oh, my goodness, I'd forgotten that you read that

 says:

yeah! LOL i didn´t really expect for you to remember THAT much! thx!

[ Carol ] says:

Really, you don't owe me comments, but any feedback is appreciated

 says:

woha why? r u unhappy with that work?

 says:

I LOVED IT!

[ Carol ] says:

I can tell. I'm still trying to figure out why you're so enthusiastic about it. It's pretty old and the writing's not very good.

 says:

honest... if you really wrote that when you were so young... girl, i´m looking forward to getting your material AFTER university!!

[ Carol ] says:

I'm past university ^.^

[ Carol ] says:

But yes, I wrote it when I was 19

[ Carol ] says:

I have other things I can show you that I've written this year, actually... if you're interested

[ Carol ] says:

It's very very long, though

[ Carol ] says:

http://lunarcrystal.googlepages.com/

 says:

ok well... art´s art and there are no maths in it. Believe me, I thought it was fantastic, and believe me, I read A LOT. I read it like a month or 2 ago but... as far as I remeber, the storyline was strong, could even develop in a novel... there was a lot of content in there, so many things asking to be told about! it was classic knightly adventure between good n evil... though i never sensed there was any cliché in it... all those stories are the same but... your world is different, you pen is different... honest, it was really entertaining to read it... AND I THOUGHT I´D READ IT ALL ABOUT KNIGHTS AND ADVENTURES...

 says:

and the characters... same thing again! usual characters, but they´re trully unique! they´re different, interesting, the reader feels like knowing more about almost all of them... if it was to be written again, the lives of the characters could take 10 times more attention just based on the lil details you give... they´re so "tipical" and at the same time intriguing...

 says:

and your handwriting... weel, i thought it was perfect...!

i just hate it when they write complicated words and sentences, just for sport, just to prove they´re literary knowledge (sooo typical in latin writing)... i believe if the story is strong, you really shoudn´t worry about literary flares... the simpler the better... let the story, not the storyteller be the one in charge... and you just made all that perfect! SIMPLE, but very delicate, gentle, BEAUTIFUL...

 says:

to be honest: i WAS ABSOLUTELY IMPRESSED by your short story. And i´ve discarded some of the greatest writers in history, by just comparing to others, not so renowned, but better... and i found your story BEAUTIFUL...

[ Carol ] says:

That's interesting, because this story is somewhat being developed into an original piece. The story you read was a fanfiction, so it was based off of something else. An anime called Vision of Escaflowne. However, the story has sort of tranceded to a new level. The characters and situations are a little different in the original version being developed...

 says:

anyways... i just wanted to make sure you knew how you impressed me and how good you are... just please never give up putting your thought into paper, ´cause they rock carol... they do...

[ Carol ] says:

I'm really overwhelmed by your enthusiasm, but not at all displeased! ^.^

[ Carol ] says:

Did you get the link I sent you?

 says:

well then please let me know when you finish re-writing it... i´m very curious... hihihi

 says:

yep, y just saved it on favourites, but i´m in a hurry right now... i GTG so i´ll take a look at it some other time and let you knaow how it went all right??

[ Carol ] says:

I really appreciate your critique. You have no idea how much I do

 says:

all those stories r yours??

[ Carol ] says:

I'll send you samples of the rewrist sometime if you're interested. And yes, all those stories are written by me with a friend.

 says:

swett! so i´ll read them all in due time! oh, and yes, plz, feel free to email me anything you bieleve i might be interested in...

[ Carol ] says:

I will. And please take your time. That story on the website I just gave you is VERY long... over 1500 pages

[ Carol ] says:

But you may find my fantasy story a little more interesting

 says:

well... that´s all for now hun... gotta run! i´ll be seing you soon and once again (and only once so you don´t blush) I LOVED OTK... clap clap clap clap

[ Carol ] says:

I look forward to talking to you again!

. ... . says:

daah, "don´t be hasty" was Treebeard´s motto.... hahahah lemme get to my own opinions ;) i´ll let you know afterwards...

. ... . says:

bye bye girl! c u soon! muah!ç

. ... . says:

--chau

[ Carol ] says:

Chau!

. ... . says:

ciao cara mia! hahahha

And life isn't necessarily so bad, I guess. Gotta keep writing now. My work is expected!

I don't get angry. Well, not very often. I'm usually an agreeable person so long as things go as they are planned, or even go relatively the way they need to go. But there are some elements in this world that cross the borders into extreme ridiculousness.

My husband (soon to be ex) is one such element. He's a nice person when we talk about video games. But the moment something needs to be done that requires responsibility, he pretends to understand what that means and questions my motives.

How hard is it to sign a form to register the car? Why question that? It needs to be registered, as it's legally required to do so. He could have talked to me about this sooner. Instead, he promised to sign the form and send it back by the end of the month, which I immediately sent to him (with a self-addressed and stamped envelope). Then he waited the rest of the month before I finally IMed him on MSN messenger demanding to know where the form was . . . and he replied thusly:

[ Carol ] says:

Hey, Brent. It's getting a little serious now... I really need to know about that form that I sent you. This car registration thing *needs* to be done by the end of this month. Please please please tell me you signed the form and sent it to me?

Brent says:

i am needing to know what you are planning to do with the car, selling it or can you get me off the loan? Is it possible?

[ Carol ] says:

omg

[ Carol ] says:

Yes, I'm selling the damn thing before April

[ Carol ] says:

You need to send me that form immediately

Brent says:

oh really, do you have a prospective buyer

[ Carol ] says:

No, I'll be selling it to a dealership

Brent says:

for how much?

[ Carol ] says:

For however much it's worth and then I'd pay the difference. My dad's helping me sell the car, and my uncle's going to help repair it. We need it registered to do anything with it, though

Brent says:

Can i get off the loan before you sell it?

[ Carol ] says:

The loan is going to be canceled once it's sold. And no, that'll just cause more headaches and hassle. It's easier to just sell it

[ Carol ] says:

Because I'd have to cancel the loan and then refinance the car, which I'm not sure I would get approved for.

Brent says:

The bank is still going to want its money though.

[ Carol ] says:

I'm already paying for it, Brent. Just send the damn form

Brent says:

If you sell it or not.

[ Carol ] says:

Why exactly are you fighting me on this? You have no responsibility over the car anyway... I'm already paying for it, am maintaining it, and taking care of the paperwork. All you have to do sign the form so I can be responsible and get it registered so I don't get pulled over...

[ Carol ] says:

Hello?

[ Carol ] says:

I hate to say it, but this is dreadfully irresponsible of you to avoid discussing this very serious matter with me. This needs to be taken care of, and regardless of whether you're on the loan or not, the fact is that you are and it is still your responsibility to sign that form and send it to me so that the car can be legally registered in the state where it currently resides.

[ Carol ] says:

You can't *not* talk to me about this.

Brent says:

do you have insurance on the car right now or have you?

[ Carol ] says:

I began the process of acquiring insurance but the car needs to be registered first.

[ Carol ] says:

It's a vicious cycle

And now I'm hating life. Please, please, please just shoot me now. This is what makes me want to drown puppies and put babies on spikes.

My boss hates me. There's nothing I do that's right, ever. Not a smile, not an offer. He just grumbles all the time, won't talk to me, doesn't care to do any kind of socializing. . . It's more than frustrating. But it's only until April, at least.

Too bad, too - he doesn't seem like a bad guy. Just - troubled.

Quotes from my funny sister:

"I hate you with the Passion of the Christ."

"Mercedes. German for 'mid-life crisis'."

And our friend Kristin added her own with, "Ferrari! Italian for 'mid-life crisis.'"

And life continues to be mediocre. At least until I ship out in April. I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to be doing with my life at this point, other than just letting that whirlpool drag me away without a fight. Video games pass the time, occasional writing with my friend, dinking around with electronics. I'm biding my time at this point. At the same time, I'm looking for a meaningful relationship with a figment of my imagination.

Ah, life. Funny thing, life.
