A posting from David Galas' MySpace page:

"The Happiest Days Of My Life (now available on iTunes, Rhapsody and Amazon mp3). My new album 'The Happiest Days Of My Life' has been officially released on iTunes, Rhapsody and Amazon mp3!!!!
Unfortunately I don't have any new information when the actual physical cd will be released. I'm hoping it will be in a couple months.

Cheers!

The remixed/remastered Bleak~Vane should be available very soon via iTunes (and other mp3 sites). One Last Breath is now up on the MySpace Music player. David Galas did a wonderful job with the remix. This release has been brought back under the Lycia banner, mainly to avoid confusion with another band called Bleak, but also because this was also originally meant to be a Lycia release. So it has been renamed Lycia Bleak~Vane.

Mike VanPortfleet and Tara Vanflower will be participating in the JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes this Saturday in Tempe AZ. Mike was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1996 and this is a cause that is very near and dear to Lycia. So show your support and pledge some cash for a very good cause. Here is a direct link to a page Tara set up for donations: http://walk.jdrf.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=extranet.personalpage&confirmid=87541113

John Fair's Paper Gods has just released "Songs To Play While Rome Burns". More information regarding this release can be found on the Paper Gods MySpace page.

David Galas has just completed the final mixes for his 2nd solo release "The Happiest Days Of My Life". Release information is not yet available but should be posted soon. Likewise, more information (as well as future updates) can be found on the David Galas MySpace page.

After years of being out of print Bleak~Vane should be available soon. Remixed and remastered by David Galas. We heard these new mixes a few days ago and they are powerful (and the long lost vocals for In Vain have been restored). This will be a mp3 only release. Check back here, or on the David Galas MySpace page, for future updates regarding the specific release information.

A number of questions have recently come in regarding the unreleased songs that are currently on the music player. Here is some basic info:

The Soil Is Dead is from 2007. Mike and Tara had envisioned a new project, which was going to be called Strange Star (a take off from the Estrella theme). The stylistic theme was abstract/experimental/ambient and the plans were for a full length. The Soil Is Dead and MILK (which can be heard on Tara Vanflower's page) were the only songs that were finished. A number of other songs were in various forms of completion. As with numerous other "false starts" dating throughout Lycia's history, Mike abandoned these sessions with very little explanation. In terms of who did what, Mike did the music and backing vocals for The Soil Is Dead and some of the additional loops and guitar for MILK. Tara did the vocal for both songs and most of the music for MILK.

North Town and The Dreaming Body are from 2006, and were part of what was to be the Lycia reunion of Mike, David and Tara. The musical style of the reunion was to be a morph of the initial Lycia style from the early 80s (post punk) with aspects of Lycia's mid 90s styles. The goal of the reunion was a full length followed by live dates. This is the root of all the recent "Lycia is working on new material" discussions that have been floating around. As with the recordings described earlier Mike abandoned these sessions early on citing personal reasons. Several other songs were in the works. As for who did what, Mike initiated and played guitars on both songs, and did the vocals for North Town. David played bass and programmed the drums for both songs. Tara added vocals for The Dreaming Body. Note that the songs are variations of each other.

Lastly, to avoid any new questions regarding the above mentioned "Lycia style from the early 80s". In interviews over the years Mike has stated that May 1988 was Lycia start date. In reality that was Lycia's restart date. Lycia's roots go all the way back to 1981. Very little was accomplished in the early years and what was recorded during that time frame has long been lost.
