On the matter of slam poetry.

My definition of contemporary slam poetry is: prescociousness cloaked with over induldent, over compensated lyric and rhyme. (example in my definition here.) Pop poetry is the assumed name i give because it involves all ideas and facets of the current pop culture (to please with colors, loudness, cornballness and the like, then to wrap it up in pretty>in this case Queen or King) with the use of cliche idioms and messy metaphors draped with a borage of 'black' language or undecipherable slang.

to plainly put it it's just too much.  I don't know how the original masters of this earth feel when they hear the use of their names recited parallel to my pussy holds the wooooomb of oshuuuuuun. To me its disgraceful. Its an example but original. Inflecting the voice up and down to create what? words are simple. Poetry is mysterious. I think it would behoove any poet to push the boundaries of the slam culture by returning to a lore long forgotten. The use of simple words could create more mysticism and thought provoking engagments today versus the screaming and singing black queen...or king for that matter.

i enjoy the use of language no doubt but i squirm and squeal at tiredness which most of my brothaaas and sistaaaas display. poetry now defined for me is the sensible language of an experienced, original and slow tongue.
