Current mood: curious
Excerpted from my post at Cobblestone Press: Your Expectations Romance is incredible isn't it?Both the genre, and romance in general. Being in love. Being romanced. Both are incredible in my opinion. I'm always impressed by the depth and range of stories you can find within our genre and all the subgenres. There's always something for me to read, no matter my mood. I appreciate that. I can find smart suspense, thrillers, romance that tickles my funny bone, feel good romance, hot steamy romance. Whatever I want. It's there. You know all this. I'm also amazed with the wonderful, diverse population of folks who write romance. Lawyers, doctors, former military personnel, business professionals, teachers, professors, moms, and even dads. Second Guessing YourselfBut every so often I come across a person who somehow makes me feel bad about my choice in reading and writing. For those of you who read Portrait of Seduction, you'll be familiar with the characters (Other and human) in my new release Power of Seduction (available on Halloween). Readers said that the secondary characters needed their own story and that Portrait of Seduction could have been longer. Power of Seduction is a response to both points and I know you're going to love the next step in the journey. Power of Seduction will be released this Friday, October 31. Stop by Cobblestone's website to get your copy: http://www.cobblestone-press.comAbout the Book: Tor Kemp is an executioner, not a babysitter. But his visions tell him that Cassidy Sinclair is in serious danger...and his visions are never wrong. She's defenseless against a world she knows nothing about. Cassidy has dreamed of Tor before. Unfortunately, he always leaves her unsatisfied. But in real life, satisfaction is guaranteed...until he vows to protect her. Protecting her means keeping his hands to himself. But Tor quickly learns that every wolf has his breaking point. ***Want a sneak peek of my new website? I'll be posting a glossary to go with my POS books and other fun stuff like puzzles and word finds. http://dev.madison-chase.com. Let me know what you think. Each year, I and millions of others wait anxiously for the summer heat to break and for cooler weather to sweep in and remind us that we don't really live in a desert. Pumpkins and mums start dotting porches around the nation. Some of us even decorate with corn stalks, gourds, corn, and whatever else reminds us of autumn.
I adore this time of year. I love the crisp air, the cool breezes, the scents, the colors. Everything seems more vibrant. Which is ironic, considering everything is going dormant. People however, are only getting ready to go dormant. Before they snuggle away for the winter, there is lots to be done.
Fall festivals for instance. An age old tradition still clinging to that theory that we harvest things. If you actually have a garden, you probably do harvest things. And if you do, you know what a joy it is to produce and harvest. To me, that makes this time of year extra sweet.
I love how people gather together and have a few last heraas before winter grips them. I love the attire of warm sweaters and boots. The warmth of a good cup of hot chocolate or cider. The feelings of "togetherness" that we seem to miss out on the rest of the year.
I look forward to the holidays and wonder why it is that we can be so warm and friendly and giving and thankful only a few days out of the year. After the holidays it seems like business as usual. Cold, bleak, barren. And the warmth and friendliness that started with a few pumpkins and parties is long forgotten. And we're back to our world of the bottom line, never ending carpools and always too much on the to do list with not enough hours in the day.
Thoughts?
