Image Comics' highly anticipated mini-series of
insane proportions goes ongoing due to pre-release reception. On the verge of COWBOY NINJA VIKING's debut, Image Comics
announces writer AJ Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo's highly anticipated
action-packed mini-series with a multiple personality twist will expand to
regular ongoing series. "Even before its release, COWBOY NINJA VIKING has seen
a reception much like CHEW's explosive launch, making it evident writer AJ
Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo shouldn't be contained to a mere four
issues," Image Comics Vice President Jim Valentino said. "In a time
where it's very hard to launch an all-new title, the pre-release buzz for this
book has been massive. We're extremely excited to keep it going for a long time
coming. Considering we've had to already double our print run to meet demand,
we think the fans will highly enjoy the now ongoing series." COWBOY NINJA VIKING is the creation of Doctor Sebastian
Ghislain, a psychotherapist who recruits Multiple Personality Disorder patients
to produce a unit of counter-intelligence agents called Triplets. But what
happens when those guys become out of control assassins? That’s when the
deadliest Triplet of them all, COWBOY NINJA VIKING, is called in to take down
his own brethren. In order to ensure the timely schedule, the series will ship
in monthly arcs with two month gaps in between each storyline.

COWBOY NINJA VIKING #1 (AUG090294), a 24-page full color
Golden Age-format comic book for $3.50, will be in stores October 21, 2009.

All-new series features the final dangerous days of New York's
most notorious nightclub, FORGETLESS!This December Image Comics presents the last night of New York's most
dangerous night club, FORGETLESS, courtesy of writer Nick Spencer and artists
W. Scott Forbes, Marley Zarcone & Jorge Coehlo.
"FORGETLESS is akin to Rashomon in a night club, just
with a lot more bullets," Spencer said. "In a way, FORGETLESS may be
the first action-thriller perfect for fans of the films 'Go!' and 'Igby Goes
Down', especially with how Scott, Marley & Jorge's styles each combine
different aspects of indie and blockbuster action comics. FORGETLESS will
certainly be a night to remember."
In FORGETLESS Sonia and Sara, two struggling models turned
professional killers, want to make sure their favorite night club goes out with
a bang. The club's final night features differing perspectives at the pen of
Forbes, Zarcone & Coehlo, revealing there's much more going on than anyone
could ever expect.
Image Comics Vice-President Jim Valentino added,
"Having worked with Nick on his EXISTENCE 2.0 and upcoming 3.0 series, I
was very interested in seeing what he came up with next. Considering this
combined with his extremely impressive roster of artists has me highly looking
forward to what FORGETLESS has to offer."
FORGETLESS #1 (of 5), a 32-page full color comic book for
$3.50, will be in stores December 9th, 2009.

Image Comics and Shadowline introduce a brand new
series featuring a concept that’s just crazy enough to work; COWBOY NINJA
VIKING!This October, Image Comics’ newest hero shows just one
personality may not be enough to save the world in the all new series from AJ
Lieberman, writer of BATMAN: HUSH RETURNS, and PROOF artist Riley Rossmo:
COWBOY NINJA VIKING! "COWBOY NINJA VIKING is everything I look for in a
series to bring to Image," Image Vice-President Jim Valentino said.
"There is absolutely nothing else on the stands that looks or reads
remotely like COWBOY NINJA VIKING, especially given its Golden Age dimensions
and format. I certainly can’t think of any other titles featuring schizophrenic
heroes combating evil with no less than three personalities.” COWBOY NINJA VIKING is the birth child of Doctor Sebastian
Ghislain, a psychotherapist who recruits Multiple Personality Disorder patients
to create a unit of counter-intelligence agents called the Triplets. But what
happens when those guys become out of control assassins? That’s when the
deadliest Triplet of them all, COWBOY NINJA VIKING, is called in to take down
his own brethren.
COWBOY NINJA VIKING #1 (AUG090294), a 24-page full color
Golden Age-format comic book for $3.50, will be in stores October 7, 2009.

Silverline Books returns to their Blue Forest
Series in the second installment, TIFFANY’S EPIPHANY!
This September Silverline Books, the children’s book imprint
from Image Comics, expands on the world made popular in BRUCE THE LITTLE BLUE
SPRUCE with a story about all of the downsides of being a bully in TIFFANY’S
EPIPHANY by writer Kristen Koerner Simon and illustrator Jim Valentino. “TIFFANY’S EPIPHANY presents an important moral in a
humorous and lighthearted fashion that is still fun for kids to read in the
Blue Forest Series tradition,” Illustrator and Silverline Publisher Jim
Valentino said. “While I’ve been worked on just about every type of comic book
or graphic novel you can imagine, working on children’s books such as TIFFANY’S
EPIPHANY has proven to be very fun. Kristen and I look forward to continuing to
visit the friends of the Blue Forest series for a long
time to come.” TIFFANY’S EPIPHANY features the return of fan-favorite
characters The Four Lovable Field Mice and Jack the Rabbit, but newcomer
Tiffany the Skunk is bullying all of the other critters in the forest. It is up
to Jack the Rabbit to confront her and show her how lonely being a bully really
is in a story that will definitely entertain and educate children of any age.
TIFFANY’S EPIPHANY (JUL090357), a 32-page full color children's
book for $12.99, will be in stores September 16, 2009.

The entire first issue of EXISTENCE 2.0 made available on Comic Book Resources! After EXISTENCE 2.0’s first issue faced a complete distribution-level sell out Image Comics, writer Nick Spencer and illustrator Ronald Salas bring their noir crime thriller online thanks to a partnership with Comic Book Resources.
"EXISTENCE 2.0 is a very different book, combining crime noir with hard edge science fiction that’s an absolute must read for any fan of TRANSMETROPOLITAN and CRIMINAL," Image Comics Partner Jim Valentino said. “When the news of the sell out came in we knew we had to get the book in front of as many eyes as possible. Luckily the people at Comic Book Resources were very enthusiastic and gave our first issue a home."
EXISTENCE 2.0 is set in motion when less than ethical physicist, Sylvester Baladine, is assassinated and has his consciousness transferred into the body of his killer. Life isn’t all bad considering his new body is younger, better looking, and still possesses all of the talents of a life-long trained killer. That is, until he finds out that the same group of assassins that plotted his death has taken the one thing he held dear in his previous life – his daughter. Now Sylvester must return to his past to find out who ordered his assassination and what they want with his daughter. There’s only one problem – a lot of people wanted him dead!
EXISTENCE 2.0 #1 is online on Comic Book Resources today, July 8th, 2009. EXISTENCE 2.0 #2 (JUN090380), a 32-page full color comic book for $3.50, will be in stores August 5th, 2009.

Silverline Books expands line of children’s graphic
novels with THE LAVA IS A FLOOR and TIMOTHY & THE TRANSGALACTIC TOWEL!
This August Silverline Books, the children’s graphic novel
imprint from Image Comics, debuts two all-new titles showcasing the human side
of two very fantastic situations: THE LAVA IS A FLOOR by writer Justin Shady
with artist Jeremy R. Scott and TIMOTHY & THE TRANSGALACTIC TOWEL by writer
Michael Bullock with artist Michael Metcalf!
"I was immediately impressed with the
way THE LAVA IS A FLOOR and TIMOTHY & THE TRANSGALACTIC TOWEL
both appeal to a child’s sense of humor, while the vivid imagery captures the
imaginations of new and reluctant readers alike, " Silverline Publisher
Jim Valentino said. “Both books give unique twists on the everyday experiences
of children, making them enjoyable for both kids and their parents.”
With THE LAVA IS A FLOOR and TIMOTHY AND THE TRANSGALACTIC
TOWEL, Silverline Books continues its tradition of bridging the gap between
comics and children’s story books for a new generation of
fans. THE LAVA IS A FLOOR is the story of a brother and sister
troubled by a typical childhood dilemma; they’re bored. Although
these are not your typical sibling duo--they’re monsters living in the crater
of a volcano! Using their imaginations they pretend to be the
strangest creatures they can think of: humans! In TIMOTHY AND
THE TRANSGALACTIC TOWEL, a young boy named Timothy soon finds out that
with a seemingly normal beach towel he can transport himself to other worlds
and times, including into the midst of an inter-galactic war!
THE LAVA IS A FLOOR (JUN090325), a 32-page full color hard
cover book for $12.99, will be in stores August 5, 2009.
TIMOTHY AND THE TRANSGALACTIC TOWEL (JUN090327), a 112-page full color book for
$16.99, will be in stores August 26, 2009.

Science fiction and noir crime combine like never
before in July's EXISTENCE 2.0
This July writer Nick Spencer and illustrator Ronald Salas
give one man the chance to start life anew after dying in the science
fiction romp, EXISTENCE 2.0.
"I brought this book to Image, because in all my years
of reading comics I've never quite seen anything like it," Image Comics
Vice-President Jim Valentino said. "The way Nick and Ron combine the standard
tropes of crime and science fiction to create something wholly new blew me
away. It's a comic I had to read and I couldn't be happier to publish it."
EXISTENCE 2.0 begins moments after self-absorbed physicist
Sylvester Baladine finds his consciousness transferred into the body of the
hitman who murdered him. Settling into his anonymous new life in a
younger, better looking body, Sylvester is pretty content until he
discovers that the very people who plotted his assassination have kidnapped the
one person he treasured most in his old life - his daughter.
With only limited time before she dies, Sylvester must dig up and
face the past he was happy to bury and figure out who tried to kill him
and why they want his daughter, inadvertently making himself a target once
more.
EXISTENCE 2.0 (MAY090303), a 32-page full color series for
$3.50, will be in stores July 1st, 2009.

Dolce, Perry and Navarro bring super-spies to
super-powers this July
This July, indie superhero favorite writers Michael
Dolce and Marcus Perry join illustrator Mariano Navarro and cover artist Tyler
Kirkham for their three issue mini-series exploring the dangerous side of
superpowers, DESCENDANT.
"It's very hard to find a new spin on superpowers, but
I think Mike, Marcus and Mariano have done it," Image Comics Vice-President
Jim Valentino said. "DESCENDANT is completely different than any other
book on the stands, but will be a big hit with fans of SLEEPER, CAPTAIN AMERICA and
SECRET WARRIORS while surprising them like no other book can."
In DESCENDANT Rayne Santiago,
a United States
counter-terrorism soldier, is forced to return to her South American homeland
after years of exile due to abusing her own innate pyrokinetic abilities. There
she she receives word of her brothers' abduction by a rogue pharmaceutical
conglomerate bent on using their DNA to manufacture super powers. Michael Dolce
and Mariano Navarro's experience in the small press superhero field combined
with Marcus Perry's past writing high-octane action films combines to tell a
superpowered blockbuster the likes of which hasn't been seen.
DESCENDANT #1 (MAY090301), a 32-page full color comic book
for $3.50, will be in stores July 15th, 2009.

Jimmie Robinson's all-ages superhero classic returns to print courtesy of Jim Valentino's Silverline Books.18 March 2009 (Berkeley, CA) - EVIL AND MALICE, Jimmie Robinson's all-ages superhero series, finally gets collected this May in a 128-page trade paperback aimed at younger readers.
"A definitive collection of EVIL & MALICE has been a long time coming and I'm very happy it's with the folks at Silverline Books," Robinson said. "Over the years I've heard a lot of demand for a superhero series that older readers could share with their younger siblings, nieces and nephews. Considering Shadowline's continued pushes into the younger reader market with their own Silverline Books division, they seemed like the right home to bring back EVIL & MALICE. I'm highly anticipating its upcoming reception with fans -- new and old alike!"
EVIL & MALICE: SAVE THE WORLD collects the entire story of Evelyn and Malinda, the 13-year old twin daughters of an infamous (but soft-hearted) villain, The Black Eye. Once a collective of villains makes life miserable for dad, Evelyn and Malinda take it upon themselves to strike back -- as superheroes! They're quickly thrown into a madcap race against time until their father discovers their identities and grounds them for life!
EVIL AND MALICE: SAVE THE WORLD TPB (MAR092470), a 128-page full-color trade-paperback is priced at $14.99 and will be in stores May 20th, 2009.
