Morgan and Eric commissioned us to do something new and innovative, and I think you'll agree that the end result is just that!

My graphics editor Rex was able to take regular photographs and animate them in a way that adds a third dimension. Pretty amazing, eh?

Morgan and Eric will be presenting this to their rehearsal dinner guests tonight - I'm betting they've never seen anything like it! I'll be interesting to hear their remarks.

I don't advertise with The Knot Magazine, so I was pleasantly surprised to receive the notice pictured above.

Whoever is out there voting for me (ahem...mom and dad), please keep it. :->

Saturday I had the pleasure of documenting Katie and Dave's outdoor wedding @ the Cooper Aerobics Center in Dallas, Texas.

I know what you're thinking - an aerobics center for a wedding?

This was no average aerobics center. More like a college campus with a large lawn, fountains, and plenty of area to put up a few tents and have a wedding celebration.

I met Katie and Dave for the first time on the day of the wedding. Kym Skiles of f8 Studio kept telling me, "Katie is a stunner, she's gorgeous!

Kym is never wrong, and together with Dave, they make quite the All-American couple.

Kudos to Katie and Dave - thank you for having me along to document your celebration!

A few weeks back, I had the joy of documenting Josie and Justin's wedding at the Earle Harrison House in Waco, Texas.

While Chance and Kourtney handled the digital shooting, I hopped about with my Super 8 and 16mm film cameras.

The 16mm footage arrived from the lab today, and I just have to show you some of the rich and colorful images....absolutely breathtaking! I wish I could send you a dvd with full screen resolution.

Thanks to the always fabulous Kay Watson for creating this magnificent event (and for sending Josie my way).

Been crunching up a documentary project about an incredible woman in San Francisco over the last week. Maly's daughters conjured the idea for an elaborate birthday party they'll be throwing April 28th and flew me in to produce the project. It's a secret, so if you run into Maly, don't let her know!

Back to editing the wedding backlog.

Last year while I was in Austin getting ready to film Emily and Huntley's wedding, I got a call from Beth Sepko Casting to be an extra in the Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez horror flick Grindhouse.

The only instruction the casting folks would give me: "dress like you're someone traveling thru an airport."

Having plenty of experience as an extra, I had to decide how to make myself stand out from the rest of the pack. When you're an extra, you're a dime a dozen. So how would I make myself different from everyone else?

A Hare Krishna? Nah...have to shave my head.

A backpacker? Nah...many others would bring backpacks.

Then it occurred to me...a musician.

You know how you always see someone with that "industry" look carrying around their guitar case heading off to their next gig or festival? Just pretend you have.

When walking into the wardrobe tent, one of the wardrobe stylists spotted me immediately, pulled me aside, and gave me a leather jacket to go over a Sun Records t-shirt. Out of about 50 extras, only 5 of us received special clothing.

I had visions of Tarantino spotting me and putting me alongside the featured performers, maybe chatting with one who wasn't delivering lines, being cool (which for me, IS an acting job).

We were bussed over to a terminal at the Austin Bergstrom International Airport, hustled thru security, and brought before His Highness, my heart a'twitter. Tarantino looked us over briefly, switched his attention back to his camera placement, and then allowed the p.a.'s to place us wherever they wished.

Take a look at the screen grab below to see where I was ultimately situated:

What people may not realize is that the terminal in the background was being used for regularly scheduled flights during filming! I was sitting back to back with a young lady heading to Philadelphia - she was like, "What's goin' on here," I was like, "you're really gonna have something to tell your friends when you arrive."

If you jog your timeline frame by frame with the arrow keys, you can actually make out the shape of my head!
