These are my recommendations and what i intend to go to throughout to comedy festival and beyond.

Thursday 18th October (Day 1)
Norman Lovett's Slide Show @ XS Malarkey
if Norm's not your cup of tea, might i suggest Damion Larkin at Trof, he's a thoroughly nice chap

Friday 19th (Day 2)
Club Cognito:
Ian Cognito and Dave Bishop @ Charlies

Saturday 20th (Day 3)
Howard Read @ XS Malarkey - highly recommended but may not make it depending on work etc

Sunday 21st (Day 4)
The Best of The Unbroadcastable Radio Show AND Slaughterhouse Live @ Comedy Store

Monday 22nd (Day 5)
Tom Stade @ TV21

Tuesday 23rd (Day 6)
It's a Tie between:
XS Malarkey - Mundo Jazz, Dominic Woodward and Owen Niblock
Jason Cook: My Confessions @ Frog and Bucket
I suppose both would be feasible if XS doesnt sell out, in a popularity way not in a giving in to the man way

Wednesday 24th (Day 7)
Another Tie for the start of the evening:
Steve Hughes and Andew Maxwell @ Comedy Store
OR
Seymour Mace and Ivan Brackenbury @ The Greenroom
(If you're feeling a bit skint 6 of the best at Trof has to be the best value comedy on day 7)
This Night WILL finish at the Asylum @ Frog and Bucket
Doors 10:30pm - I've put my faith in Jason that this will be mind bogglingly tremendous

Thursday 25th (Day 8)
I think i'm going to have a day off, we'll see but my week off's looking a bit full at present
However recommendations are Rhod Gilbert and John Bishop @ Comedy Store
or for the lighter of wallet (or heavier if you keep coins in there) Vladimir McTavish and Kev Rook @ Trof

Friday 26th (Day 9)
Barrel of Laughs @ Frog and Bucket
Steve Harris, Dave Longley and JIM JEFFRIES

Saturday 27th (Day 10)
Robin Ince: Knew this would happen @ XS Malarkey

Sunday 28th (Day 11)
Damion Larkin, Terry Saunders and Chris Brooker @ Trof

Monday 29th (Day 12)
City Life Final @ Comedy Store (Although may be another day off for me)

Friday 16th November (Day 30 - i think)
Bill Bailey: Tinselworm @ MEN

but i managed to keep do well,
having spent the evening on my tod with just a slightly odd european man for company, who insisted that women found speeding tickets sexy, and actually having had a really good time, helped by a decent lineup and a few interesting events (1st comic disappeared, girl had to leave crying - not linked, probably)
so the auction began, lots of interesting lots, but seeing as i had the 50p in my hand that was to last me the rest of the week (til payday) i resisted the urge to bid on any of the fascinating trinkets, although i came close to buying a script consultation session for rob's birthday, but i was getting a bit anxious about that i'd have to go to the cash point, and even then shouldnt really be drawing my rent out
so all good so far, until the 2nd to last lot was announced, 2 gold memberships for xs, i went in with an opening gambit of £20, only to be pipped to the post by some young whippersnapper, the bidding war enraged, and somehow i got to £50, which while it sounds a lot, i still think is an absolute bargain, free entry for life to the best comedy club in manchester, bonus :)

now i best get to bed really, seeing as i've got to be up for work, i'm struggling to fight the temptation to watch 24, i may take it in with me in the hope steve's off again and i can watch it while we're quiet

They're dropping neighbours as of next spring
fucking freemantle media cunts
i think the petitions should have been against them raising the price (by 3 times) rather than against the bbc for not paying it
[21 Apr 2007 | Saturday]

get for the want of another word in

worked the mayor's ball in blackburn last night, saw/was said hello to by jack straw, he's much smaller in real life, some interesting things happened (not to do with jack straw) which i wont go into on here

working taxis tonight then deep purple tomorrow, i've been awake since 1, im currently of the opinion that anything i can think of to do wouldbe rather futile, apart from maybe getting breakfast

not a great deal to tell if i'm honest, but thought i should put in some kind of update, get my views back up again
feel properly settled into work, finally, which is making me a bit itchy but i'm looking at swapping some showsec stuff for other security so hopefully that will tide me over until i've served my pennance here.
fay's moving up reasonably soon which everyone else seems to think is a major thing, but i'm just looking forward to it, long distance has been a bit rubbish at times, but it will have been well worth the wait. I'm also getting a bit antsy about my flat, i had completely geared up to buy somewhere and was fairly fully shot down on realising what i could actually afford, so it's back to saving up, i did look at other places to rent, but i cant get much/any better than mine for the same money, and spending more would mean i had less to put aside
i've also been appreciating the location a lot more recently, for me, at the moment, it is just right, if only i could be bothered sorting out a parking permit, but then it would be parked on the street, rather than the secure car park, but it would mean less walking, hmmm stolen car vs laziness, who will win
speaking of which, i have a new car, it's a 1.6 astra and it's so far doing quite well, it didnt cost me much, should hopefully be able to get near enough all of it back when i sell up, which will probably be after my next birthday as i'll have a years no claims and be a year older
i imagine by that time i'll be looking at buying again, as i'll be on 4 grand more salarywise, hopefully be more settled in what security i'm doing and hopefully have another couple of grand aside for a deposit
that's about my lot really, i may do an update soon

I'm still in work, working on a programming project which i have undoubtedly made a lot more complicated than it needs to be. as is always the ways
However i do feel like i'm getting somewhere, only a couple more bits to do then i can enter the data in the morning before the meeting in the afternoon

it feels like stupid effort right now but it will hopefully be worth it when my pay appraisal comes round soon.

i need to make time to ring and see if i can rebook in for work on saturday and attempt to get the name on the bowling for soup guestlist changed to whoever i can find that wants to go

i can see tomorrow being a gay gay day, worse than spiderman could ever do, i just want to make sure that this fucking program isnt part of the reason it's gay
[06 Feb 2007 | Tuesday]

I'm blogging because i'm meant to be programming, simple as that. I just cant be arsed, i've been forced to leave it really close to the deadline because i've not had a chance to work on it until now.  Have to have it working and ready for use on friday afternoon, so really want it working for tomorrow so any changes wanted can be made.

Went to see Bobby last night, is about Bobby Kennedy and was really good, a powerful ending, and littered with a random spread of stars, sort of in the same vein (sp?) as Good Night and Good Luck as far as the angle of the film goes, a completely different style though, was expecting it to be somewhat similar to magnolia as it follows 22 different characters throughout the film, but then again i dont think anything could be that similar to magnolia, made for a very interesting/involving film, definitely worth watching, that's Mum's birthday present sorted.

I'm starting to look at buying a house, partly because i really want a dog, mostly because i want to have my own place that i can do whatever i want to.  Looking around from sort of Sale round to Ashton really, i'd prefer to be closer in, but my priority is a nice house in a reasonable area, which for the money i can afford just isnt likely to happen. I need to speak to my parents about the possibility of them being guarantor or even coming in on the investment.  I have found a house i've absolutely fallen in love with (from the details on our system anyway) however at £499,000 even if my parents gave me all of the money from selling their house i could only just afford it :s fingers crossed for winning the lottery tomorrow or friday

In other news, I've still not got a car, however i am getting closer, should be contacted by the solicitors either next week or the one after to give me the option to wait and see what happens with the symptoms or to request the money straight away (which i'll be doing) and then i'm not sure what sort of delay there would be before i got it. Then it's just a matter of making sure my finances are straight and buying a car.  Fay's spending as much time as she can up here which is obviously good for me. Hopefully she's moving up here when she can afford to.

That's about it for now, if you read this on my website, yes i know it's shit at the moment, i'm looking at moving server very shortly

[06 Nov 2006 | Monday]
....just shows how uninteresting my life is at the moment, as well as being exceedingly busy
i'm now officially (finally i hear you say) going out/betrothed/in love/attatched to/with Fay
that's about all that's new
my fiscal situation is somewhat complex at the moment as a result of the content of the past few months blogs
namely a ridiculously large vodafone bill, moving into a flat i cant really afford, having my car written off, not being able to do as much security work as i'd like etc etc
it doesnt help that my rent and stuff go out just before the end of the month, so i have to make sure there's enough money left in there for them
fortunately i get paid for security the day after it goes out
so i can go right to the limit with my rent, so long as there is enough to cover it going out
might be some changes at work soon, which if they go my way could mean i can do a lot more security work, but if they dont could mean i have to do a lot more work here
i'm meant to be getting a week of my training done before xmas but i cant see it happening at the moment, it was meant to be just after an upgrade we're doing which is now booked for 3 weeks before xmas, and i sincerely doubt steve will want me being off for any of those weeks
[raw]/music stuff's all going as usual, i've been putting quite a bit of thought into setting up recording/mixing stuff (unfeasibly expensive) as well as getting some more equipment to make doing the odd djing for parties etc a bit more frequent and affordable, probably market it as a rock DJ because it's easier tbh and then i dont have to deal with as many scally cunts
considering i started this blog with how uninteresting my life is at the moment i just wrote quite a lot
but no doubt i'll be lax in how long it takes me to follow it up
[19 Oct 2006 | Thursday]

if nothing else

car got picked up this morning
had to push it up the hill from the bottom car park, which was a bit of a ballache

the man from vodafone is currently here in a meeting with my boss
so will shortly know how much i have to pay of the 1500

you could say i'm a bit on edge

to add to the resolutions, my aerial is being fixed on tuesday, but it was organised today, so resolved today

just need to see how it all pans out now

got a bit more quiz to write

should be good, got a feeling i wont be in the mood for it again, should change once we get going though, so long as there's not people moaning about it again, liable to twat them if they do, no matter who it is
