Droogies!

I would like to congratulate Roadrunner for passing up their previous efforts, and also surpassing other various milestones in our recording career, becoming the 10th longest charting record of my career.

Yes, you heard right, of our more than 12 official releases, I am excited to say that ENDGAME has lasted on the charts one week longer than United Abominations did, and of the various albums before ENDGAME, it has done six weeks more than Rude Awakening, two more than The System Has Failed, and one week more than The World Needs A Hero, and it has tied Hidden Treasures. It will tie Risk, and Back To The Start if it remains on the charts next week.

Thank you all for buying ENDGAME and you should be able to hear it on Megadeth Radio soon, so those of you that are planning on buying or are still undecided on buying our new album, the proof will be available for your ears real soon on the station; however you can hear songs off of ENDGAME at Megadeth.com in our audio player.

I say this because this week is the 1,320th week that Megs has been a band and we have been on the charts for 237 weeks. And 237/1320 is almost a sixth of our entire lives as Megadeth. I hope that the next record I do will be a worthy successor to ENDGAME, and I have learned a lot since recording this last gem. And I want this last record for Roadrunner to be a great way to say thanks for having us.

I look forward to helping tying and hopefully breaking our next goal for our previous records remaining on the Billboard Top 200 Chart. The next milestone, once we pass our next target, would be the classics – Peace Sells at 11 weeks, So Far So Good So What and Youthanasia at 23, Cryptic Writings at 29, Rust In Peace at 30, and the pinnacle of albums on the charts for Megadeth, Countdown To Extinction at 58 weeks.

I have my fingers crossed that we will at least have the ‘8’ in ‘58’ next week, and we will work on the ‘5’ after that.

DAVE MUSTAINE:

Droogies!

We are gearing up for the Holidays, and I am feverishly working on more playlists today. I have an appointment this morning and then a slightly busy day, so I am trying to sort out the playlists here.

One thing that you all have noticed is that there are sometimes glitches, like songs that really shouldn't be on here. I appreciate you not dining on my ass for the Keith Sweat song.

Overall, this is so fun for me, and to be able to have so much great music playing all day long is a rush! I can't wait to start developing shows around the week. Some of my initial ideas were to have Holiday Shows, which we pulled off with your imput and my twisted mind. We are currently working on playlists for Christmas, and this is a period that needs explaining.

In the music biz, much like all businesses, people go on vacation over the Christmas break. In some cases, the people that are in the music business leave even earlier than the standard two week break that most families recognize because of the 'school vacation'. Sadly, this really changes the face of the music business, mostly radio and video or TV, because almost everything is set to auto-pilot for the two-plus weeks that these people abandone their posts.

In radio when the holidays come around, the use of gimmicky songs and Holiday favorites start to make their way into your radio or onto your TV. It starts earlier each year, and if you aren't in the right position when these people leave, and when they lock they programs for the break, well then, you just ain't gonna hear anything until after the New Year.

We have had seasons where we go into Christmas break and we are in the playlists and get locked in rotation when the stations close, and we had them where we were not in the rotation. Let me tell you, it was some of the hardest weeks of my life having a record campaign stalled, and having to sit around for almost a month before you can make any kind of progress again.

This is where Megadeth radio comes in.

You can hear real metal and hard rock music that isn't sold out. Of course there are so many bands and only so much time that I have each day to organize this, as well as the programmers in NYC. Today I have submitted the entire Black Sabbath/B.S. with Dio/Dio/Rainbow/Heaven and Hell catalogue and there should be a noticeable change in the level that old Ronnie is being played. He has dominated Megs Radio since we started and I love Ronnie, but I had no idea how much he has done and how inevitable it is too hear him if you are listening to metal. Very eye opening!

I should have five or six new lists sorted out, and the only thing slowing me down is trying to remember some of these songs without having the music. Talk about having an "Itchy Swelling Brain"? Well, it is time to finish the morning and work out before I head off to save Gotham City, er, um, I mean to take out the trash and load the dishwasher

Have a great day, and I hope that this Thanksgiving that all of us can try to heal a relationship with someone, and to make this opportunity to gather and celebrate not another missed opportunity for healing. Hey, I know that sometimes our relatives are lame, but this is about us and not them. Besides I can tell you, you can still be a bad mutha f***er and still be a good dude. Each year, thanks to your support, Pam and I are able to buy pallets and pallets of toys from Hasbro Toy Company, with the help of our long-time friend Elaine Hinton.

These toys are then sent to the Childrens Hospital for Cancer in San Diego, to many of the various churches to help the homeless (they have kids too), and to the United States Marines for their 'Toys for Tots' program. I can't tell you how grateful I am to you for affording us this luxury, to use the finances you have invested in me, to reinvest in our children. Even if it is just a toy, I remember how hard it was for me, and how much I cherished what little I had.

I have a lot know, thanks to God and to my gift, and definately thanks to you. This is just a small way to pay it back.

Have a great day, and I have to get started packing again for the Endgame tour that starts in the US with Machine Head.

Deth before dishonor,

Megaman

CHRIS BRODERICK REVEALS GUITAR WITH NEW VIC ARTWORK

Hey Everyone,

I will hopefully have a new Ibanez guitar to play by the start of the U.S tour, but I thought I would give you guys a sneak peak before it's even finished. It still needs a clear coat but the artwork was all hand painted and came out great. Let me know what you guys think

Take care, Chris.

DAVE MUSTAINE:

Droogies!

I want to inform you that it is indeed true, we are postponing our Canadian Carnage Tour, due to our tour mates in Slayer needing some time off for front man Tom Araya to address some personal matters with his health. We send our best wishes to Tom and look forward to his speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, we will be rescheduling these dates in the near future, although that date is currently unknown, and contingent upon Slayer's notifying us of Tom's progress. The most important thing is Tom's rehabilitation, and we will no doubt have good news for you all soon.

MEGADETH, SLAYER

Dave Mustaine has issued the following audio update: "Today is Tuesday, November 2nd and unfortunately I have the bad news to tell you that our Canadian Carnage tour is being postponed due to Tom Araya [Slayer] needing to get some emergency back surgery. So just wanted to let you know we are not cancelling, we are just postponing. ...Canadian Carnage is going to be rescheduled and you can probably count on that being somewhere around the new year." Listen to Dave's entire audio message at TheLIVELine. Read the following Slayer update at BraveWords.com

Droogies!

Thanks to your overwhelmingly good suggestion for my Halloween Show, I have been able to select over 50 songs from the 'List' that I asked you guys for at Megadeth.com.

We are going to add some fun tracks, humorous songs, and classic spooky sounds!!!

I suggest if you want your Mad Monster Mash to be a smash!, you have to make sure your music selection is good.

With Megadeth Radio, the songs are GREAT! Enjoy Halloween and party responsibly.

Droogies!

I am so happy that you are digging the station. Hopefully a lot of the talk in between will keep you amused. And I know that the song selection is getting groomed and improved every day except Sundays, you know why, and because I think I am also going to see my hometown team the Chargers (you know, the ones without the ponytails and the players having a hard time deciding if they are football players or rock stars) take on my favorite team since I was a kid, the RAIDERS.

This will be tough, but in a way kinda like watching two friends fight.

Ever notice how chick fights are so much more vicious than dudes. I remember watching some girls that appeared to be in some group, beat up a lone girl, and I was just a 12 year old, but it was savage! Even while sitting on the ground in complete submission, this group of girls found it necessary to keep attacking this single girl, kicking her in the face and head.

Life is so funny at times how quickly people can turn on something or someone. That is why I am so grateful right now for the success we have, and for the way that the band keeps growing in stature and status, but also how we continue to put great performances down, keep growing closer to you all, and continue to outlast the critics.

Our next leg will be with Slayer and people said, "it wouldn't happen," then they said, "well, it won't last for long," then they said, "well, it won't happen again," and we are heading back up to Canada to meet with them.

I was in my dressing room with Dave and Kerry hanging out and we were all celebrating our success, and I got to ask Kerry, "what it was that I did that pissed you off so bad, so that I can fix it," and of course we were interupted and the conversation stopped. So, I look forward to seeing the guys, and some of you don't know that when Tom got sick, I actually invited Kerry to come play an old Megadeth song, because he played in Megadeth for a very short time, while helping me out because I was still looking for a guitarist and he was already in Slayer.

Now, I imagine they will be saying, "well, that's it, and those lucky f*ckers, we'll never get to see this event." To this I say, "Anything is possible!"

Keep the requests coming to the station and keep the comments coming to me at TLL. Until the next time we can catch up, keep your eyeballs peeled, because I went into my chat room yesterday, just for the fun of it.

Droogies!

Thank you all for your feedback. I am talking to the station guys for my show today and next week we'll be making some slight adjustments.

I have read the entire thread and am closing it so that I can read next weeks thread and be able to keep up with you crazy Droogies! Start a new one, and keep the suggestions coming, and you can always call me too. I am so happy that I am with you all day and all night long now. You know how much I love you all (even the assholes).

Some of the answers to your posts are:

I will check out what songs were added, and in many bands cases, we got it right. Sometimes there are going to be stinkers, and I will make adjustments as I go. Remember though, we are playing zingers too, and that means that just because a song is here, I don't necessarily like it - it just had something to do with my life. EXAMPLE: "I was made for loving you" - KISS is played because that was the last song I heard by KISS as a fan. After that one I quit them, which helped me understand the fan backlash from Bud Prager's failed attempt to break us with "Crush 'em".

I am constantly considering new additions of the music from my life as I hear it or someone suggests it. I am not sure why Bullet For My Valentine was in there, it must have been a song that I tried to recall and got it wrong, although I still think that band has talent. I will also look at some other genres, because I have eclectic taste in music, but as far as anything that is blatantly against my moral fiber, you can fergit it! I am also changing "Hair of the Dog" - Nazareth, so that it will always be Nazareth and no covers of that one. No one else has the right to sing those lines. They are one of the credos I lived by for so many years and to hear someone else, anybody else sing it is just not right.

I am going to add the entire record "No Life To Leather" and have some fun with the comparisons between me and Kirk, but let's keep it fun and fair. I wouldn't even play them if I had a problem still. This is a new opportunity for us all to revolt against regular radio and together we are going to play hard and heavy music that we like, because I say so!

I am glad that you are enjoying Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, and I can't wait to spring some more cultural stuff. Bob Dylan slipped through and will be removed, as well as a couple others that I notice slipped in. This is going to be such a cool and educating experience for you all, and I am so glad that you are enjoying my twisted sense of humor with the ads in between like, "we go to eleven" and then play Elton John.

Since I picked the songs for now, I have several new bands that I am going to check out and pick some songs from. As you can imagine, there are just too many bands, and just because you like them, doesn't mean I do. Megadeth Radio is for the whole band, but I am the only one doing it as of yet. So, I will check into RATM, Deep Purple, definately Pantera, Symphony X, Rammstein, and Violence. I dunno why there is two versions of "Schools Out" - Alice Cooper and someone.

I also got the ENDGAME requests and the picture glitch, I got some messages at TLL about this, and when you call the studio number it goes to the studio, so if you want to talk to me directly, call my TLL number after you leave a message at the studio.

I am also thinking about doing something cool on the weekends where we slam you with entire sides of classic albums - not the whole thing, because even classic records get hard to sit through. But you'll get the jest. The decision to beep out songs is not mine.

I was thinking of my new slogan, "Megadeth Radio - where you'll neeeeeeeever hear Nickleback!" Have a great weekend, check into the Net Worth Coffee Brokers site again for the Christmas blend that I am returning with. That's exceptionally good coffee!

God Bless and kick some ass,

Dave Mustaine

Just nursing the last of my head cold back at home. I wanted to take a moment and reflect on a truly phenomenal run through New Zealand, Australia and especially Japan. It was perhaps one of the most memorable trips of my whole career, unforgettable in so many ways. Big thanks to you, the fans. I want to particularly thank the crew members of our band and Slayer's band for keeping everything moving in Australia and of course the guys in Slayer for some great metal shows. I also want to thank, Shawn, Chris and Dave for being the towering giants of metal that they are. And now, I'm going to enjoy some well earned time at home.

Thank you all,

James

So, after such a great time in New Zealand, Oz and Japan, I was so excited about coming home for a few weeks to be with the family and just be "Normal" for a while. Halloween is right around the corner and in my house that of course, means having another "Pumpkin carving contest" Guys vs. Girls (for the record, I suck at carving anything, but we all still enjoy doing this) my kids are now adults, so we do this more for the little trick or treaters now. As well, we have a solid day of watching horror movies (1 of my favorite things to do on earth-going to see "The Stepfather today at the movie theatre) and basically just having a good Halloween. Anyways, enough of that.............

The upcoming Canadian Carnage Eatern Canada tour, will have us starting out in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, so my top priority (besides the shows) is going to see the new Trailer Park Boys movie!!!!!!!! I am such a huge fan of this TV series, I simply cannot wait to go and watch this movie. Actually, about half of our crew want to go see the movie as well with me, which will be fun. Add to this, the KILLER sea food available and the fact that I have yest to venture this far East in Canada, this all equates to a great tour leg for me.

As with the Japan leg of the tour, I will be updating quite a bit on my Live Line page, so check in with me if you want to hear the latest 877-388-3786

In closing, it is also so great to be back in North America, so I can watch my STEELERS pummel all those who dare step in their way. (Are you reading this, DD???)

Be well, Humans.
