If you go to YouTube you can see it in HD (once YouTube hurries the frak up and finish the HD encode). We answer fan comments/questions and generally act silly. We also talk about future episodes. <3

Just realized I never posted this on my MySpace blog. Here's part 1. Will post Part 2 soon. I co-wrote this with Ben Paddon, the creator of the British Sci-Fi web comic, Jump Leads. We'd love your feedback at http://www.kill9studios.com

Hey guys. It's me again with another interesting opportunity.
I've been hired to put together a 3-5 minute HD video project for a company that needs demo content. I am looking for a dance group, fashion show, medieval reenactment group, ANYTHING that is a short, colorful performance with lots of movement in an outdoor setting or in a theater setting.
I wouldn't be able to pay much (Maybe $500-1000), but in return you'd basically get a free video in very high quality HD. Those of you who know me know I own an HVX200, which is a very nice camera. However, for this project I'd be using the new RED camera which is a revolutionary new high resolution technology. I will have a professional camera crew and the footage would be shown at trade shows around the world.
The technical purpose of the video is to show off a video encoding technology (that captures light/color/movement). The aesthetic purpose is to give the viewer something nice to look at while assessing the technical qualities. I COULD just drive around San Diego filming monuments or the ocean, but I want to take this to the next level and share a unique piece of local performance art with the global community.
I am hoping to hire a local artist who wants to capture his/her/their performance in high quality video, but can't afford to hire a producer/director. Everyone walks away with awesome footage, you get some dough and everyone wins. If you have something colorful and interesting, please send me an email at info@michelleosorio.com
I am hoping to shoot this around November or December. Thanks.

Category: Music
I am taking a Rudiments of Music class at Penn State. Here is my assignment: In Reflection Paper No. 1, you are to reflect upon your experiences with music prior to beginning this course—as listener, as participant—and what part music plays in your life. When I was about 5, my relatives liked to ask me what my favorite song was. It amused them to hear me say "La Isla Bonita" by Madonna. I am not sure why my family found that so funny. Today I like to think it is because I didn't name a children's song, and because I was addicted to MTV (in its early years). Though I never pursued music professionally, it would play a large part in my life. Starting at the age of 6, I participated in choir all the way through high school. Initially, I just liked singing and it wasn't until the age of 8 that I realized I had a talent for it. In third grade every recess I "competed" in a singing competition on the playground judged by one of my girlfriends. I won every single day performing popular Disney tunes. The only day I lost was when I decided to try something "edgy" and sang "Under The Sea" with an awful Jamaican accent. A few weeks before starting high school, I spontaneously decided to audition for a performing arts magnet high school slightly further away from home. I couldn't play the piano and I couldn't read sheet music, but I still showed up to the audition with a music book from Les Miserables and attempted to follow the music while mimicking how Patti LuPone sounded on the CD. I was incredibly nervous, screwed up the timing at the end of the segment and concluded my performance by sighing defeatedly. All this was caught on video and given to me as a gift from my teacher years later. Despite a mortifying performance, the instructors must have seen potential in me because I was accepted to the school. Thus began a four-year immersion into the world of musical theater, jazz choir, chamber choir, acting and dancing. This was also around the time I began discovering music by Enigma, Cirque Du Soleil, Weezer, Green Day, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails and Andrew Lloyd Webber. I didn't really care who was making the music, or how different it sounded as long as it moved me, and music has always moved me profoundly, sometimes to the point of tears. This was the time of typical teenage angst, and I would spend nights falling asleep with my headphones graduating from the academy, I drifted away from dreams of being a musical theater actress. I realized that though I love singing with all my heart, I lacked the passion required to live the life of a struggling artist. I sing from inspiration, not on demand. Over the years I fell in love with film and filmmaking is where I stayed. Now I enjoy the luxury of returning to my voice lessons, taking up the piano (it's only been a few weeks now), and getting to choose this class to fulfill a requirement at Penn State. I am hoping a combination of these three learning tools will aid me in my next goal. I want to write songs for my film and video projects. I have a musical episode planned for the second season of a web series I co-created. I am currently "writing" all the songs and will be playing the love interest. I will feel accomplished if I can at least write down the main melody to my tunes on sheet music by December!

Hey Guys. I got another paid gig for y'all, so please pass this info along. Any potential candidates should email me directly through the Craigslist ad, as I HATE the MySpace email system. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/tlg/729761486.htmlMy name is Michelle and I'm a producer for a local digital media company. They've asked me to pitch them an idea for a guerrilla style viral video to promote a new tech device. There is already a big ad campaign behind it, but they're wondering if a separate grassroots type promotion online would have any value. It's my job to convince them it would! I have some ideas in place, but I'd need a "subject" for the video. Namely, you! If you have a strange, unique or funny talent, then please contact me with a sample. You could be a master ukelele player, an almost inhuman break dancer, a juggler, or...? This would be done in a very low-budget, home-video style and shouldn't take more than a few hours to tape. Besides pay, the other potential benefit would be exposure for you if the clip goes viral. My most popular video is currently nearing half a million views on Youtube, with the second most popular at a quarter million views. Craigslist doesn't usually allow big attachments to be sent, so you should link to samples of your work or be willing to drop by the office in La Jolla if you want to show me in person. Either way, I'll need visual samples to show the group in order to get approved to shoot it. Looking forward to working with you!

Category: Parties and Nightlife
Totally unexpected. Tonight (or last night, if you want to get technical) I took David and a few friends to Bourbon Street for some weeknight partying to celebrate his birthday. Bourbon Street (in University Heights) holds this ridiculously awesome contest that includes DDR, Guitar Hero and Karaoke. It was so much fun! At the end of the night, I was chosen among 4 hopefuls to be chosen as the winner of the night. I honestly think the guy who hopped around showing his ass was gonna win, but no it was ME! I think maybe I slayed em with my passionate rendition of "Don't Stop Believin" by Journey. I honestly was just having fun and did not expect to win, but the audience cheered me most! I won $100 and some guy threw his thong on my head which was a little disturbing! ANYWAY, I've been invited back to the FINALS in two weeks. So please be there or be square (and no I am not drunk while writing this, I only had one drink but I think I'm queasy from all the popcorn)! I will probably stop by next Tuesday as well, per their suggestion, to practice. It is TONS of fun, so PLEASE join me. If you don't like karaoke, there's Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero for the first part of the night. Call me if you have the number and you plan to come. Any show of support is appreciated! Here's the site for the venue. http://bourbonstreetsd.com

I rarely do these question/answer blogs, but I saw Pin do one. Why not?
4 jobs I have had: 1. I guessed people's weights and/or age at Six Flags. There was no training involved. They told me I'd get good at it after awhile. I did! My overlords didn't care if I sucked though because people were paying $2.00 to have me analyze them, and if I was wrong they'd win a cheap made-in-China prize that probably cost 30 cents to make. 2. Waitress at a really ghetto Denny's next to the Robin Hood Motel. 3. After-school film teacher to underprivileged youth and minorities. 4. Casting assistant for The Biggest Loser 3.
4 places I have lived: 1. Spent a Summer in Vietnam learning to read/write Vietnamese. 2. Spent a Summer in NYC. Brooklyn to be exact. 3. Lived in Orange County for 13 years. That place is a social and cultural wasteland. 4. San Diego. I like it here.
4 TV shows I watch: 1. Futurama 2. South Park 3. Big Love 4. Spaced
4 places I have been (other than where I live): 1. Several islands in Hawaii (want to go back) 2. Santana, a small town in Sonora, Mexico where some of my family is from. I wanna go back there, too. 3. Vietnam 4. Austin 4 people who email me regularly: 1. David (or any of the Kill9 founders, for that matter) 2. Gloria 3. Kenny 4. Travelzoo (I <3 you!)
4 favorite foods: 1. Pho Tai (Vietnamese beef noodle soup) 2. Vietnamese egg rolls with fish sauce 3. Lobster bisque 4. Pizza
4 places I would rather be right now: 1. Ireland 2. New Zealand 3. L.A. 4. Tokyo
4 people I think will respond: 1. David 2. Pin 3. Brian 4. Andrew
4 things I look forward to this year: 1. Getting my singing voice back into shape 2. Taking more dance classes 3. Season 2 of ./shutdown 4. Comic-Con
