Some signs of how President-elect Barack Obama will use his massive Internet following are starting to surface. The President's weekly radio address, a staple of American politics since the Franklin Roosevelt administration, will be posted to YouTube, starting this week with the Democratic address (the party not in power has also traditionally broadcast a weekly radio soundbite). The videos will also be posted to Change.gov, the President-elect's transition site that launched last week. Continue Reading

Not since the implementation of televised ads and debates in 1960 has politics seen such innovation take precedence in any election, be it for the presidency of the United States or the graduating class of a local high school. Newly elected president, Barack Obama, managed to render predominantly red states blue through a grassroots campaign that included house visits, phone calls, text messages and even Facebook reminders to citizens across the United States.

With the stock market continuing to plunge, one thing remains constant:
financial news sites like to tell part of the story with images of
distressed Wall Street traders and executives that are experiencing
some of the worst moments of their careers. While the news of the day
is indeed troubling and makes us all nervous, the emotion captured in
some of these images is better than that any story could tell. Here are
8 of the best pictures we’ve spotted on the homepages of various
business news hubs during the current market meltdown:

1) You're so articulate This one does not bother me as much as it does some people. It really depends on the wording. To say, "You're an articulate man" rather than "You're an articulate Black man" is more favorable, because otherwise it implies that Black men are generally not articulate so to hear one speaking so well is a shock.
2) Is that your real hair? I get this one all the time. As if a Black woman couldn't have beautiful, healthy, long hair unless it was bought from a Beauty Supply store. White people seem to be soooo fascinated by our hair, I swear. At the same job I left in May, a Black woman who worked in another department came to our office for something and one of my bosses marveled at the twisted updo she was sporting. She walked around her in awe, as if the woman were on a rotating display in a museum freak show. Similarly, "You have good hair" falls along these lines, as well. What constitutes good hair?
