You know who you are...

Anyways, I'm back from my "vacation" of sorts, after 3 long months...We just got back Thursday morning so I've still got some things to sort out, but soon enough things will be back in full swing, in the mean time I'll keep you all posted on my condition as far Wi-Fi, games, and etc...

I should have another "Top 5 List" or two up soon, I've been procrastinating it for awhile now so I apologize.

Now excuse me, I need to go preform 63 tasks that require me to run in circles for 7 hours.

:EDIT:

Well after a couple weeks, I finally have Wi-Fi again, so that's good.

Oh, and about that "Top 5" thing...uh...I dunno, I just have had no inspiration, nor drive to do it yet, SORRY. It'll be done...eventually.

The next installment in my 'Top 5' series. There'll be pleanty more to come, folks. I will eventually slide away from gaming and focus on more mediums of stuff, but for now I'm sticking with what I know best.

Now I want to make it clear ahead of time, this and other lists are in no way, shape, or form meant to exclude anyone's own personal opinions of games, consoles and the like, these are just my opinions, and I'm sticking with them.

One last thing, I'm also including handhelds into this list as well.

Ok, enough of me ranting, on to the list...and more of me ranting.

5 - Sega Genesis

Sega do what Ninten-don't! What does Sega do? BLAST PROCESSING!! Ok...enough of that now. Whether you thought Blast Processing was the real deal or not, the Genesis was amazing at the time and really still is. Awesome games, awesome graphics, the Music...um...BLAST PROCESSING!11 All jokes aside, The Genesis has it's place in time as a great console.

4 - Sega Dreamcast

Ah, the Dreamcast, how we miss thee. While the Dreamcast's failure was tragic, but it was both figuritivly and literaly, ahead of it's time. Amazing graphics, Amazing games, and wait..what...Online Play? As in...you can play with your friends who aren't on your sofa? Awesome.

3 - Nintendo DS

When news of the DS first hit, reactions were mixed. Some loved the idea of new innovation, others saw it as a gimmick, and at the begining, it somewhat was. However, now, the DS has become one of the World's top selling Video Game...ANYTHINGS, and has a large following. With a lot of awesome, unique, and most of all, fun games, the DS will be around for a long, long time. Plus, add in the ability to play any GBA games and no Region Locks and you've got a near limitless number of options for games.

2 - NES/ Nintendo 64

Ah yes, argurably two of Nintendo's greatest points in time. Actually, if you think about it, they are both very simular. Both were revolutionary for they're time, both have given us some of the greatest games of all time, and both started something that would go on to be a standard in many consoles and games. They're so great, that I HAD to put them both on here.

1 - SNES

With a cult following and a huge list of amazing games, the follow up to the NES was well received by all  and is considered by many to be one of the, if not the greatest console of all time, including myself obviously.

Hmm...I guess I should have said Top 6...but no matter.

honorable mentions

Just about all consoles and handhelds...

The first in a possible series.

5 -  Mario

What can I say about this that hasn't already been said? After over twenty years of being one of the most beloved video game series of all time, the series (Spefically Super Mario Bros.) paved the way for many a game and series, and while admittedly, there's been a lot of black eyes in the series, it can be said without question that the series has brought us some of the greatest games of all time.

4 - Castlevania

What an amazing series. Seriously. Castlevania has been around nearly as long as Mario, and it's still as great as it was way back then. With simple, yet deep and involving gameplay, and in my humble opinion, easily one of the greatest series soundtracks of all time, Castlevania has well earned it's right to be on this list.

3 -  Metoid

One of the few series that are (in my mind) perfect. With amazing depth, exploration, and great fun, Samus is truely the Queen of the gaming world. With an amazing lineup already and a lot of anticipation for the next installment of the series in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on the Wii, the future looks great for Samus and all fans alike.

2 - Metal Gear

Amazing characters, amazing story, amazing action, amazing fun. Need I say more?

1 - The Legend of Zelda

Once again, another of my perfect series (You dare bring the CD-I into my series? You must DIE). Like Mario, anything I could say of this series awesomeness has been said...but I'll say it again. As I said; Perfection.

Honorable Mentions

Grand Theft Auto
Sonic the Hedgehog
Final Fantasy
Half-Life
Chrono (series)
Resident Evil
Draogon Sword (Quest)
Street Fighter
Pokemon

And many more.

I'll be back in about a month so if I don't get back to you by then, you can automatically assume some shit went down and I am now living a new life in Iceland under the name Chafman Vondercough...or I'm too damn lazy to respond back after 26 hours in a hot car...either or.  So anyway, feel free to message and comment to your heart's content, I'll get back to ya as soon as I can.

I'll miss ya all...except for YOU! You know who you are. >=(

So I've had Pokemon on the brain lately, I've been reading up on Diamond/Pearl and I have to admit that this may possibly be my most anticipated DS game in quite awhile. I am kind of bummed out now though, because I only recently learned that you can transfer all of your Pokemon from past Game Boy Advance games to Diamond/Pearl via the GBA game port. Now if I only knew about this when I had the GBA games, because I traded them in... I still have the original Red/Blue, Gold/Silver, etc... For the original Game Boy, but since they don't work on the DS... Yeah.

I did come up with an idea though, I'm going to get Pokemon FireRed for the GBA, so I can at least get some of the new evolutions of first generation Pokemon. And that way, I have something to do to further hype me up for Diamond and Pearl. And thanks to WiFi support, I don't have to immasculate myself by asking random people if they have Pokemon. lol, Even though I've never felt self-concious about loving the series of games. I mean, come on. You gotta catch'em all!

I'll update this post once I actually can get my hands on them. I plan to get the Diamond edition, and I MAY get Pearl at a later date, if only for being a perfectionist.

Also, I've started the first panel of my upcoming webcomic, It'll be done soon so, expect to see it within one week.

Edit: Chimchar FTW!

Edit:Edit:

So far, it really is an amazing game. Now keep in mind I'm only a few hours in so I can't give a full review yet, but I'll keep this brief...

First off, the game looks amazing (for Pokemon/DS standards). Almost everything in the game is in 3D, but at the same time, it has a 2D look and feel to it. It's kind of like if you put an NES game in a pop-up book, ya know what I mean? Everything is richly and beautifully colored, All the sprites and animations look great, but the game can chug a bit, but this is barely noticeable.

The gameplay isn't fundamentally changed at all, it's the same Pokemon we've came to know and love. And it's true, it DOES get a little repetitive after awhile, but personally I wouldn't want it any other way. One thing that does disappoint me are he DS functions. Diamond and Pearl (DS functionality wise) kind of revert back to when the DS first came out. When most of the games that implemented DS features were more gimmicky than anything. The only time you need to use the touch screen is when you want to operate your PokeTech (Which basically is a multifunctional device that is on the touch screen during the main gameplay except for battles). Now you can use the touch screen to enter command during a Pokemon battle, but I prefer the D-Pad, as switching from Stylus to D-Pad in and out of battle is a little awkward. But by far the biggest inclusion and most genius inclusion is offcourse ONLINE play. Diamond and Pearl allows you to trade, battle, talk (Yes, Diamond and Pearl DO support voice and talking), and just hanging out with friends through Nintendo's WiFi connection. I've yet to try it out, but I've heard it's all great.

Sound wise is great as well. New and catchy tunes are included in the game, as well as remixed versions of some songs from previous games in the series, which all sound great. One thing that I did notice is that now, they seem to want to make the Pokemon's battle cry, sound more realistic, so they sound as if the Pokemon are actually saying they're own names, as they are supposed to.

So far, it's a great game. Like I've said, I'm not even a quarter through the game yet, so this is only a preview of sorts, but if I HAD to give it a grade...

5/5 So far...

There, it's a review...HAPPY!?
