once again indie 103.1 throw me a curve ball - just heard the the - top band they were -

the past few days ive early cure, stone roses, and tons of stuff that if i was doing a radio show - it's be exactly like that

i just wish they'd drop that toyato huntington beach bloody ad

watched the office & 30 rock today obviously - once again another couple of great episodes

have just started watching the series "the wire" - the only thing is that it reminds me of watching 24 for the first time (series 5) and realising ive got 4 more *series* to watch before i get up to date…..

i think i'll like it

updates for the week since ive been really lax due to a major website i ve started

. mon: 24 - another classic episode
.tues: pool - have a guess……. i won one and si won - only problem is that we 10 games….
.playing golf on monday for the first time in i guess 8 weeks - i'll be on the top of my game then…….
.no darts this week as weve rescheduled to next week which means mon golf, tues  pool, darts weds & thurs as well as champions league games tues & weds  & eufa on thurs - * phew*
.friday i shall be vegging in bed all day
.the darts team who called the game on us and who we beat the other week - weve drawn them in the next round of the cup - we are amused and looking forward to it
.when can we have a standard freakin css system that all browsers work the same with - ive spent HOURS the past 2 days making sure ie7 & ff2 display the same - fookin nightmare - and i havent even checked on ie6 yet since vista has decided it doesnt want me to install standalone version of previous ie.. arse
.did i mention i watched night at the museum? - it was good in a im bored, open a bottle of red, and chill out for 2 hours & get away from the pc…
.ive taken a load of photos and a few vids of kara the dog pre and post haircut on thursdaybefore i go back to ibiza - however vista doesnt like premiere so the vids will have to wait to be uploaded - ive uploaded a few pics of kara - which i guess you get from my main profile page

for those of you who are in the slightest bit remotely interested, we didnt play pool last night

anyway - we are now second in the darts league after winning last week-
them played 10 - 24 pts
us - played 11 - 23 pts

so if wanker features a.n. bar hadnt been such wankers and we had been allowed to play our game against them we could theorectically be top, albiet with the top placed team 2 points behind with a game in hand (3 points for a win)

the great thing is that the team who took the points have had 2 situations after where they have asked other teams to reschedule - after hearing what they did to us both have said no and taken the games

(i must say though we have had to reschedule some other games and others have had to against us - and we have quite happily done so with no problems)

i wish i could write a better review of monday's episode of 24.. but i cant - so here it is: mondays 24 review

so england lost tonight to spain in a friendly. im sure that the uk press will be calling for maclarens head tomorrow. but then england has always given their head coach an impossible task - until england win the world cup every england manager is going to get untold grief - and then when we do eventually win the world cup its going to be worse… they say that the england managers job is a poisened chalice - i wouldnt take it if you offered me the moon….

thankfully moving back to ibiza will take me away from the english influence we get where i live - there are probably more english here than in any town in england

ive been working on some new stuff for the new site i'll be doing over in ibiza and i'm REALLY looking forward to seeing the reaction to it

ive been listening to indie 103.1 for a week? and some of the ads just crack me up - the latest one to get my sarcasm treatment is the ais insurance one (though not really cos its crap but because of what it says about car insurance)

(i'm paraphrasing so it wont be word for word)
"your insurance used to be based on your zip code, now its more "likely" to be based on your driving history.. etc etc etc"

now forgive me here but on the former basis i could create unbelievable havoc and as long as i was in the right zip code my insurance would be ok..

theyve just figured out that it maybe a good idea to rate your insurance on er what you actually do behind the wheel of a lethal weapon

i cant think of anther country in the world that gives me so much pleasure at being able to take the piss out of it, and angst about how screwed their system of government is (and this is including one of the best pieces of govn documentation ever - the dec of independence)

how does a country that has the dec of independence manage to completely ignore virtually every single piece of it? - i used to think that the u.s. was lucky cos they had the bill of rights and a constitution and the uk basically had sod all and we were all "subjects" of the queen (ie the state)

and to cap it all, (and what really makes me laugh) is all these eastern europeans etc flocking to the uk for a better life - how can i put this politely? IDIOTS!!

the short term maybe ok but would you really want to be living in the UK or the USA in say 2050 ? - not a chance

i found this and just had to promote it. They have a t-shirt:

Illegal??? Has history not taught politicians anything? unreal….

in 1985 english football teams were banned from europe for 5 years after heysel - i still think we were a scapegoat - we'd been dominating european football for years and this was just the sort of thatcher thing she loved to do

in italy the last year alone weve had the match fixing and now major problems with hooliganism - they took the stance with match fixing - will they do anything about this? - if this was in the UK can anyone imagine *any* uk team playing in europe for the foreseeable future? - we would be banned from europe for 10 years, taken out of european and world cup qualifying and treated like pariahs

in turkey, 2 leeds fans get stabbed to death- great idea - lets hold the cl final in turkey…..

will they ban italian teams from europe & the national team? i hope they do - otherwise i can see it getting worse

the problem is that platini has just taken over uefa…. a whitewash methinks…..

this is an amazing statement:

can you imagine the reaction if a senior person from a premier league club had made that comment after an english policeman had been killed after a football riot at the weekend?

sometimes a film just makes you smile even when you know its a bit naff - this is one of those

i cant believe i'm going to say this but.. gervais shouldve said no to the script… it wasnt him, much as i love gervais he totally over acted and seemed out of his depth - "chill out!!!" - gervais shouldve had a big spliff before his scenes and it wouldve been good but it all seemed too forced - and also which came first? carrells "fool me once" in the office or gervais' "fool me once" in the film

from memory (i maybe wrong), michael expanded on the fool me once gag but in the film it wasnt… so you had to have seen the office to understand the line gervais did in the film (like i said i maybe wrong)

anyway, a good film, worth an evening with a few beers and nothing on the tv and a bit of escape from reality….
