Mumiy Troll releases Appbum.

Mumiy Troll continues its experiments with new formats for the band’s music. This time, the album “Paradise Ahead” (in English) that was previously released in EP format, appeared as Appbum (APPlication alBUM). The new media format is developed by FlySoft company, specially for iPhone users. Appbum will show Mumiy Troll’s photos and videos, let read its songs, browse the band’s history and discography and even communicate to other listeners. Mumiy Troll will become the headliner for the Chart Dozen.

Among the events planned by Mumiy Troll for the year 2010, there is the performance on the Chart Dozen hit-parade awards ceremony by Nashe Radio.

The hit-parade winners are elected via voting that starts on the 1st of January. The results of the voting will be announced on the 7th of March, 2010, in Olimpisky sports complex in Moscow, where the annual ceremony of the rock-n-roll music award will take place.

Mumiy Troll has been among nominees several times and has received numerous Chart Dozen awards. In particular, in 2008 the band won the most number of prizes in the history of the award — as much as eight. In 2009, Mumiy Troll also was among the nominees in three categories: soloist, video clip and band.

Ilya Lagutenko painted the Golden Gates.

A traditional charity «Christmas Fair» started its work in St. Petersburg — this year it is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Tsarskoe Selo cultural heritage town. Also, traditionally, the «Christmas Alphabet» event is held within the Fair: famous guests paint pictures each of which corresponds to a letter from alphabet. The curator of the event this year is Ivan Slavinsky, a well-known painter.
Ilya Lagutenko got the letter «Z», so he painted the Golden Gates (Zolotie Vorota in Russian).
The created works will be sold on a charity auction, and the money will be transferred to children’s medical centers. The charity auction of the Fair will be held on the 16th of January.

Meet the New Year with Mumiy Troll!

After the grand tour on North America, Mumiy Troll played the sold out concerts in Milk club in Moscow. Recently, the musicians revealed that their New Year plans are related to Russia as well: the band takes part in several shootings of the holiday TV programs and also welcomes everyone to meet the coming New Year 2010 in another club in Moscow, 16 Tonn.

“People say that you will spend the whole New Year in the same way as you meet it. In our case, it’s vice versa – we spent the whole year in trips and tours, and now welcome the New one in the same way! It is a real pleasure for me to move from one year to another on the stage, singing and giving the holiday to people.” – says Ilya Lagutenko.

It is so far a secret which songs will join the New Year concert’s play list, but we can be sure about one thing: no holiday party will be complete without the song “S Novim godom, kroshka!” (Happy New Year, Baby!).

The club promises that three dancing floors will function during the New Year night, and on each of them a famous Moscow DJ will be playing. Also, for all the visitors special holiday cocktails will be prepared, together with plentiful snacks, the costs of which is already included in the ticket price. The 16 Tonn club will open the doors to the guest of the New Year party on the 31^st of December, at 22:00.

A day with Mumiy Troll in Milk club.

In December, Mumiy Troll’s admirers and Milk club guests will have opportunities to meet with the musicians besides the concerts.

On the 18^th of December, Ilya Lagutenko’s autograph session will take place, organized by Zhuk publishing for the release of the first volume in the Book of Wanderings series – “Moi Vostok” (My East). The Books of Wanderings are Ilya Lagutenko’s personal geography – talks about travels, countries, letters to the family, drawings, and photos. The book will be for sale during both two concert days.

During the Mumiy Troll’s two-month tour on selected cities of the USA, Canada and Mexico, which has just finished, the musicians found some free time to develop a design for an exclusive clothes series, TVOE MT (Your MT). The designed T-shirts will be on sale in TVOE shops all over Russia, starting from February. Only during the two days in December and only Milk club’s guests will have a chance to purchase the T-shirts from a limited release issued specially for the Mumiy Troll’s concerts.

A music portal MuzDepo will summarize the results of its “Artist of the Year” contest. This day-event will finish with a performance of a musician that receives this award from the portal, and a special guest will also appear.

All the guests of the day-event will also be able to take part in a lottery drawing the tickets for the evening concert and for the night NeRave party. The party will be led by DJs Lagutenko and Co. A special guest of NeRave is DJ Fedor Fomin (Fedya Macintosh).

A present from Mumiy Troll: the members of Ikra.tv will perform in the Milk club.

The Milk club’s stage will become the New Year present from Mumiy Troll to young music bands that are registered Ikra.tv.

Among all existing social networks, the musicians of Mumiy Troll prefer to communicate at Ikra.tv. Last year, with Mumiy Troll’s help and participation, the Ikra.tv festival was held in Ikra club, where young performers took part in an Alternative New Year Party. The names of Ikra members that are going to perform on the second stage of the Milk club on the 17^th and 18^th of December are already known. On the first concert day — Rene, Toch-v-Toch, Z.I.M.A , Zurbagan, on the second concert day — Mishelle, Hudoznik, Sansara, Aeronautica, and the band named Habiass that had been recording in Ilya Lagutenko’s and Pavlo Shevchuk’s Rock-garage studio and was recommended to participate in the concert. The young members of Ikra have only one thing in common – this membership, but they all have different ideas. Moreover, all the bands represent different music directions. The second stage will be open in the club specially for the musicians invited from Ikra.tv.

The Mumiy Troll’s grand tour on selected American countries is finished.

The Mumiy Troll’s grand tour on selected American countries is finished. «Russian rock band takes on America» is the name of the article about Mumiy Troll published in influential American edition Variety. Forty “sold-out” concerts in clubs of the USA, Mexico and Canada and rapturous press reviews; the participation in Mexican festival Servantino and shooting in most popular Late Late Show, where no Russians were before; contacts with everyone who is interested in Russia and Russian language; and the release of the first album in English – the two-months trip was very rich. The blogs full of photos, published at Ikra.tv give an idea about the Mumiy Troll’s grand American trip. It is quite possible that Ilya will write about these travels in the next volume of the Book of Wanderings (lagutenko-book.ru), the first volume of which was published in Russia during the band’s American tour.

Just before the end of the tour, Ilya Lagutenko’s meeting with students of George Washington University was held in Washington City. The meeting was organized with a help of old friends of the band – the Foreign Association of Russian-speaking Youth (ZARYA.US). The students were interested in the American tour and Mumiy Troll’s music, as well as in the efforts aimed towards preserving disappearing animals, such as Amur tigers; and some questions were even related to Ilya’s university background – the Chinese economy. The topic of the tigers’ preservation was raised several times during Mumiy Troll’s visit to the USA. The musician’s activity in this matter is no by chance – Ilya has been a patron of Amur foundation for several years already, and the foundation’s occupation is protecting the population of Usury (also known as Amur) tigers that live in Maritime province. Several days ago, a porcelain statuette of tiger painted by Ilya Lagutenko was sold on a charity auction, the income of which will be sent to purchase New Year presents for children of No.53 orphanage, located in Vyborg district of St. Petersburg.

Soon Mumiy Troll will come back to Moscow to give itself the best present possible for a musician –

an encounter with devoted fans. The concerts of the band will be held in Milk-Moscow club on the 17^th and 18^th of December.

Ilya Lagutenko will become a DJ for one night: NoRave Party will conclude Mumiy Troll’s concert

Mumiy Troll will perform in Milk-Moscow club on the 17^th and 18^th of December. Right after the second concert, the NoRave Party will start. DJ Lagutenko and Co will lead the Party, while DJ Fedor Fomin (Fedya Macintosh) will be a special guest.

For the first time, Ilya Lagutenko was a DJ on a hot party on Ibiza, where remixes for Mumiy Troll’s songs had been playing for the whole night. “If 2–3 Mumiy Troll’s songs didn’t play during a set, a party can be considered a failure,” – say regular visitors of DJ Fedya Macintosh’s (Fedor Fomin) performances. He is the winner of Night Life Awards-09 and was named by Afisha magazine as the best DJ of 2008.

The love towards remixes is not the only thing that Ilya and Fedor have in common. Comrades and fellow countrymen, in their youth they were visiting the same, now legendary, disco parties named Barzha and Park, in Vladivostok The music content of the coming Party, where Ilya Lagutenko and other musicians of Mumiy Troll will perform in a new category, was defined by Fedor as the “new old”. Ilya plans at least to send everyone to a space trip and to present a retrospect of space disco, from the 70s to the present time.

All the visitors of the concert of the 18^th of December are invited to the Party. The tickets to the NoRave will be on sale in the club ticket offices.

Stage as a present from Mumiy Troll.

Mumiy Troll has already prepared presents for the coming New Year for everybody – for itself, for Milk-Moscow club concerts visitors and for young music bands that are registered at Ikra.tv.

This time, the band presents the second stage of the Milk club to the inhabitants of Ikra network, as part of Mumiy Troll’s concerts of the 17^th and 18^th of December.

The Grand American Tour of Mumiy Troll is already past its half, and it means that the dates for concerts in Moscow are closing. The musicians want to stay connected with their fans while being away from the homeland, so the band “reports” to them via the trip diaries that it maintains on Ikra.tv. Even after been called by American media “the Russian Rolling Stones” and while having unforgettable experiences from performing in clubs in America, Canada and Mexico that are overfull with totally fresh listeners, Mumiy Troll eagerly awaits the meeting with its Russian admirers and considers the coming concerts a present to itself.
