This blog is primarily dedicated to the car drivers who don't know which radio they should play while doing their ride (no bad thoughts dear bad girls.. )
..a friend has been complaining to me , that she has been asking me to give her some car friendly musique pack for ages, and i am aaalways forgetting..
i thought some nice electro flavoured- nu disco pink stuff would go perfectly while a quiet-happy faced ride, ..but then my internal music angel reminded me that what u really need to pimp your ride, is your favourite POP music ..and so my 3.4GB 'Mash Up' file came in my (bright) mind.. ; )) I tried to pick out some of the cutest pop-merge remakes and bringing it on download for anyone who hits this bloggie..
..i'd put a little introduction about the topic - A mash-up is a blend/combination of music from one song with a cappella from another. The philosophy behind is simple – 'because popular music simply recycles good ideas continuously, the perfect pop song could be written by combining the best of those ideas into one track'.. Mash-ups are also known as bastard pop cos they are mostly unofficial and spread on free downloads via bootleg sites.
..They say Frank Zappa introduced the early mashup techniques back in the 70s.., but I could claim the actual whole bootleg/mash-up movement started in the early 2000s with the names like Kurtis Rush/Erol Alkan, Richard X and most notably 2Many (fuckin great) DJs. !! now the genre (or whatever it's called) is followed by numbers of producers and DJs, most of which are from the States, France, Germany and Austria.
So here we go, supporting the nu pop treatments and kudos for all the mates developing the culture !!

..Yes, I admit - labelling music according to 'nationality' is stupid, but together with the French scene which I have previously posted about, I wanted to put on spot the other half of my very favourite music land - ....Australia..... I have observed these two have much in common actually... musically –yes, but to start with -both ..Australia.. and ....France.... share a criminal history that has shaped the identity of their respective cultures.. In ....France...., the criminals stormed the Bastille and had their revolution. While criminals were having their revolution in France, criminals in ..England.. were being rounded up and sent to ....Australia....… these mates now represent the worlds one of the finest and most free spirited society, I guess.. ....
Now back to music… a decade back, for me, and I guess for most of the people a kangaroo in Australian meant a kangaroo, and a band in Australian meant AC/DC…. Well, leaving the kangaroo issue untouched, but the Aussie music has now gone far from being just AC/DC, Nick Cave, JET, Midnight Oil, Something for Kate, Savage Garden, Kylie and the rest big mainstream names… ....
Oz Bands like The Presets, Cut Copy, Avalanches, Ladyhawke, Van She, Infusion, Muscles, Sonic Animation, Architecture in Helsinki, Amy Meredithand, Midnight Juggernauts, Lost Valentionos, Grafton Primary, Empire of The Sun, Pnau, Mercy Arms have pushed boundaries of their rock-indie roots, adding Aussie music big dose of fresh tech-synth ingredients, and making up a whole new wave of semi-electronic semi-instrumental music scene, that rocks the world's underground dance floors and grand festival stages, all the way from Syndey to LA… ....
..What makes the Oz-sound stand out is some weird-magical combination of cosmic-synth buildups, filtered vocals and a bit of pop-psychedelity… ( !!..) Actually, i'm pretty sure most of you are familiar with the whole 'Australian movement' that swept the music and blog worlds a few years ago... DJ-live dance acts like Miami Horror , Riot in Belgium, Bag Raiders, Pomomofo, Knighlife, Ajax, The Bang Gang, Gameboy/Gamegirl, Shazam,The Heat, 1928, Whitenoise, Grafton Primary, Popolice, La Mode, Like Woah, Redial, The Knife Machine, The Ashton Shuffle, Qua, have created some fantastically rad music background in Melbourne-Sydney and alongside.. ♥ Australian labels like Modular. Cutters Records, BangGang 12 Inchies have been cranking out quality E/LPs and remixes intensively, keeping up with the age of New Yorks LCD Soundsystem-Rapture, France's post Daft Punk wave, and the UK's 'nu-rave' boom…. ....
For the readers who are followers of this 'movement', or simply those who are interested to give it a try, I'm giving away a collection of some hOt!(some old) Oz tracks … You would rarely find this tracks hitting tops of the singles charts, but once you have tasted the true Australian quality, u know you want more ......
Eeeenjoy !!.. and hey ....Australia.... I will visit u sometime !!..; )) ....
part 1: Singles :
1. Cut Copy - Zap Zap....
2. Avalanches - Frontier_Psychiatrist....

6. Van She_Kelly....
7. Bag Raiders_Fun punch....
8. Midnight juggernauts_End of an era....

.. Do You remember the big times of the late 1990s till early 2000s when the French took over the world with acts like Daft Punk, Cassius, AIR, Modjo, Dimitri from Paris, Fred Falke, Alex Gopher, Mr Oizo, Superman Lovers, Stardust, Martin Solveig, Rouge Rouge, Phoenix, Scott Grooves etc etc..?? to me, this were times when i first really got into house music, started to dream one day i would become a famous dj, pop star and stuff.. ; )) cute era, even Robots were humans after all..
... but a while after, everybody got too bored of the it cos the French scene turned ''too commercial'' and shitty... house music started talking rather German and the French were all gays...
And then, in 2006 brand new wave of Parisian superheroes re-attacked the world dancefloors .. the first huge success were duo Justice who were signed by Daft Punk's manager Busy P to his Ed Banger Records, ... the result of this deal was the next best commercial success after the Spice Girls (well, not really that much, but almost ..) Ed Bangers, together with other French labels: Kitsuné, Institubes, Record Makers and few more, started releasing some interesting semi-undeground electronic music, empowered by modern art-fashion ingredients, and gained world-wide attention by being bloged about all over internet, for million times.. for this reason, some call it 'Blog House'.. – this new wave music doesn't sound much like the 90's French House, but u can surely feel it's influence.. outfits like Teenage Bad Girl, SebastiAn, Para One, Surkin, Kavinski, Lifelike, The Teenagers, Thieves Like Us, Scenario Rock, The Shoes,Yuksen, Feadz, Les petits Pilous, The Toxic Avenger, Sebastien Leger, pOPular COMputer, Alan Braxe, Fred Falke, Vicarious Bliss, DJ Mehdi, Mr Flash, Krazy Baldhead, Don Rimini, DJ Damage, David Burato, Datpolitics, Revolte, Das Glow, Joakim, Goon & Koyote, Breakbot , Adam Kesher and loads more..- all came as a new (and some of them old) generation of French producers who returned la France its past fame, dancefloor domination and most importantly- regular residancy in my player .. more diverse, more TECHNOlogic and noiZy, the French club music now sounds Less Sweety and More Sweaty.. - mmm, J'adore !! ))
Not to overdoZe with my writing, I will simply share with u the French experience via 4 piece various artist collection CD called - FRENCH TOUCH ANTHOLOGY released last year on Wagram Music...
