Healthcare Jon Stewart vs Bill Kristol

I still haven't read the whole health care bill aka "death panel bill" as some people like to put it...come on it's almost 1200 pages! You try to read it all!...but this clip IS funny. My daughter was born in a military naval hospital with the best care..It's sad that every American can't have the same.
P.S. Yes I know health care is a serious matter. And is it a bill or a plan?

This is a repeat. I wrote this way back on December 6, 2006. Is a kiss cheating? Being non judging I am always curious of what others think on this issue. So here it is..

Is a kiss cheating?

kiss

While out Thursday night we got into a long winded discussion about cheating.

Is it a kiss? Dirty dancing? Where exactly is the line drawn?

One friend doesn't consider oral gratification as cheating.

Another friend said that the physical act of intercourse itself is cheating, anything leading up to that if stopped before intercourse is not cheating. No harm no foul. A few years ago I would have agreed with her.

Now, I tend to lean towards that its not the sexual act itself, its the lies, deception and lack of respect that the partner has for the other by going behind his or her back is where the cheating lies.

I know that the word "cheating" can be left wide open to interpretation. So what is your interpretation of cheating?

The power of digital cameras and photo editing amazes me.

Here is Connie yesterday, we were at the river.

This picture is SOOC (straight out of camera)

The picture is somewhat gray so I wanted to improve it.
Lately I've been shooting in RAW mode which gives more room in post processing. Especially with the white balance.

I adjusted the white balance in Photoshop CS4 (trial) then ran a warming action and voila! More color.

Connie is quite the frog hunter. She found five.

I first heard about Neda Agha-Soltan  after she died on June 20, 2009.

150px-Neda_Agha-Soltan

27 years old and as she was protesting the outcome of the Iranian election, she was shot to death in a sea of people as she rallied with other protesters. It was caught on camera and uploaded to the web.

Over the course of following her story in the paper, on the news, and especially on the internet I came across the video of her last minutes on earth.  I witnessed her dying on camera as her teacher, and friend frantically cry and plead while attempting to revive her. The video had warned it would be graphic and explicit. Straight after watching I was so sorry that I didn't heed that warning.

Her eyes still haunt me as they rolled over to the the camera, her last few precious moments on earth drained away oh so quick as blood ran out of her nose and mouth. I was in shock after watching. I thought..how could someone put this on the internet? Why?

But after awhile I thought about the other side of the coin. As distressing as it was to watch ...in that moment of her final breaths and being engulfed in her own blood she caught the attention of the world, more people are paying attention to the issues in Iran and the world around us.

I would like to believe that she didn't die on that crowded street in vain because now her voice is heard around the world.

On a human level she has made an impact on me and so many others.

It's been over 3 weeks and I find myself thinking about her and the graphic footage. I ask myself.... if I had only read about her in the paper instead of seeing her demise unfold on the screen before my eyes..would I have cared as much?
Would it have affected me as much?

I can't remember where I read this but it said "
NEDA died open eyes. Don't live with your eyes closed!"

We have some sunshine today and I am feeling so much better, for a couple days I felt like I had been walking around with a stomach full of gravel. I guess I'll never know what caused it. I can only figure that it was bad Carl's Jr. food or a nasty stomach virus. Jim thinks it was sympathy pains since BOTH  my sisters are pregnant. Yep, Heather my little sister is 7 months along and my other sister the middle one (I'm the oldest) is 3 months along. I'll be Aunt Amy to a new little nephew and a new little ??? ...Chrissy doesn't know which gender yet.

--------------

I forgot to blog about July 4th.

We went to the parade, it was a folksy little parade but entertaining nevertheless.

After the parade we went to Ediz Hood and made a bonfire on the beach, to eat we brought a cooler full of sub sandwiches, soda and snacks.

The sunset was amazing turning from gold to pink.

There is a lot of noise in these sunset photos, I did not have a tripod, but I hope they show the general idea.

I've had a tummy ache since Monday and when we have tummy aches the first thing we do is think of the last thing we ate before the pain started.  For me that was Carl's Jr.s home fries and a 83 cent container of guacamole. I was in Tacoma and in a rush.. At the time I thought the guacamole tasted weird but then again I've never had their guacamole before and maybe that's their version of the green stuff..the only thing I had ate before that was a frozen waffle and a banana in the morning.
So now it's Wednesday and I still have a tiny urge to throw up.

Bleh.
