As many friends know, even though I have used EFT to help other people, I came upon EFT trying to help a condition of my own which EFT was one of the few things that I found was helping in any way, even if minor (for headaches and heartache - emotions, especially). I have suffered from a debilitating fatigue since 1990 that has been diagnosed with as CFS, Environmental Illness (chemical and food sensitivity- high histamine), Severe Candida and Post Traumatic Stress. While I have seen many healers and psychologists, none have actually been able to sufficiently help nor pinpoint what was really going on, nor offer a solution that worked. I had given up on medicines since I had reacted severely to 5 drugs I was tried on in a clinic to help with anxiety. After these reactions, I was told to seek alternatives to drugs which I was afraid to try anymore drugs anyways and I had experienced multiple other adverse reactions to other kinds of drugs (midol, tylenol cold, ponstan) which had landed me in hospital while at Queen's University. I recently learned about theta healing and thought to give it a try since EFT was one of the few things working for me on a lot of issues yet I was told theta healing was even better. Shortly before Christmas the Theta healer I started working with recommended two other people to work with. She sensed she was missing something and didnt have the insight to figure it out. The first was Dr. Scott Jurica who has had great success treating CFS and other illnesses and who combines medicine with other practices like Kinesiology/muscle testing and other alternative testing. The second person recommended was Eric Brumett, a Theta Healer and Medical Intuitive who she said had an amazing ability to be able to intuit what was going on in the body and she felt he would be able to pinpoint what she could not. While Scott Jurica was great and gave me a diet to follow and a cleanse to put me on (finding much of my issues hormonal and toxicity related/heavy metal), Eric Brumett was amazing. When I started the session I had a migraine, when it ended it was gone and all he did was some crown chakra balancing on it. He saw a lot of hormonal things going on and said that my condition was caused by long term exposure to chemicals I was allergic to but didnt know at the time (chlorine - was a diver, and many of the drugs I took, which having two parents as doctors I was on drugs constantly for everything). He said the other factor was that around the time I got sick, I had short term exposure to radiation and chemicals that were toxic (as opposed to being allergic), such as working in my dad's X-ray clinic developing x-rays and driving a car at the time which was leaking oil, steering fluid etc and which was smoking whenever I drove it. That same summer, I was impacted by stress from my father almost dying and my saving his life. Eric Brumett said another factor was my being the overacheiver, burning my adrenals out. After working for my father had gone back to school and exposed myself to house paint fumes (being an artist and painting wall murals in our University home) until around Christmas time I decided to pull several alnighters (5 in 8 days) for school and then for overnight travelling to Arizona to see relatives. My body finally broke down. Eric saw that something with my pituitary, adrenal and hypothalmus glands were not working right and something to do with production of melatonin, seritonin and my T-cells, and heavy metal toxicity. He also told me i need more calcium and magnesium. He said my body didnt know how to be in balance from being out of balance so long so he did some energy work on that issue. All I can say is I went into the session with a migraine and when I told him I had the migraine still, he went in and it took 3 minutes and he said he opened my crown chakra and the migraine was gone. He told me to continue with doing the protocol Dr. Scott Jurica had recommended to me, but said I would go through a heavy healing crisis/detox if I didnt do it slowly and that a heavy healing crisis could complicate things as had in past (I hadnt mentioned anything about it). He said the situation had created a viscious circle, I had this toxicity and hormal imbalance that was affecting my brain chemistry and I also had anxiety which negatively impacted me as well and kept things going cyclical and hard to get out of the circle of fatigue and anxiety. Something to do with the driving to work in that broken down car and breathing those toxic was related to causing a fear of going out places as on some level of my body it knew this was making me sick and associated that going out in a car/ going to work can weaken me, even if consciously I never even think of this or remember that time with fear (first question he asked after doing a body scan was 'how did you get to work and how long a trip was it when you first got ill' wow!!). He said taking drugs during the first part of my illness (nystatin and xanax were the only ones I really tolerated, but I took them constantly for years, as well as actiprophen for headaches) complicated things as well. After doing Dr. Jurica's protocol, he suggests I try melatonin to bring my melatonin back in balance and calcium magnesium. He wants to see me again to do another session on the chemical toxicity. If anyone needs a medical intuitive I highly recommend Eric Brumett 212-949-6587 or ericbrumett@yahoo.com and Dr. Scott Jurica at http://www.drscottjurica.com . *************************************************************************************************

After one session, it disappeared and has not recurred. I saw Eric again for a chest cold, and he asked when I was going to get my period! Apparently he saw the spirit of a baby boy floating around over my shoulder. I wasn't 'late', and had no idea I was pregnant. When I got home and took a pregnancy test, it confirmed that I was indeed 2 weeks pregnant, even before my period was due. Traveling in Australia , I called him about a stomach problem my daughter was having and he even helped her long distance. His technique works. - Nahanni Johnstone, Actress, Model & Mom, NYC Eric is truly gifted. I consulted him because I felt sluggish and generally laced motivation. Eric established that I had a problem with in my lungs and recommended a series of vitamins. This explained why I constantly suffered from bad chest infections – which I hadn’t told Eric about as I didn’t have an infection at the time, Within two weeks I was full of energy and felt much happier. Three months have past with no chest infections! Eric has an easy going manner and is very kind. I highly recommend him. - Candice, Artist, NYC His work is very deep, and if you are looking to get to the root of things that are keeping you from growing in health and heart, I strongly recommend giving him a try. Catherine Hickland, Actress on “One Life To Live”, NYC Doing this kind of work with Eric seems to be doing what years of psychotherapy couldn’t in my case. I now have growing self esteem, I feel in touch with myself and I am able to experience joy in my life. Eric has a gift and what he does works! – A. Henson, Travel Agency Reception, NYC I have been involved with natural healing techniques both as a student and practitioner since the late 70’s. I usually relied on my knowledge and experience to manage my general physical condition but I had reached an impasse in dealing with several chronic conditions. Then I was referred to Eric and I thought “well it can’t hurt to go see him”. Gratefully I was surprised by his ability to quickly pinpoint the source of my problems and the work he did was immediately effective in alleviating my symptoms. Furthermore, I was impressed at how the nutritional and supplement advice he gave worked so well and specifically for my body. After years of experiences with different healing modalities I had finally encountered a practitioner with skill, knowledge and integrity of the highest order. -Joan Soto, NYC I turned to Eric for help with a parasite infection and fatigue. His ability to read the body precisely long distance impressed me very much. My body responded great to his treatment and the supplements he recommended. But my true satisfaction and amazement was this unexpected surge of love, intuition, and a general sense of “everything is alright” following the very first session! I felt my heart open up to release so much love in me that I was never aware of before. I was surprised and very excited by the liberating and mind expanding experience his session brought about. His honesty and unpretentious attitude make it very easy to follow his directions. Thanks for basking me in love and light Eric! -Nicoletta M. Research, links and quotes that might be useful:

"Myalgic Encephalomyelitis is not depression. Myalgic Encephalomyelitis is not hysteria. Myalgic Encephalomyelitis is not a conversion disorder nor is it a somatization disorder. Myalgic Encephalomyelitis is an acute onset diffuse injury of the brain. Psychiatrists should not ever be placed in charge of diagnosis and treatment of M.E. patients. It is simply not their area of expertise and their meddling has at times caused great harm to M.E. patients. Also, during the 20 years that I have investigated M.E. patients I have yet to see a single case of real M.E. that has responded to psychiatric pharmacological treatment." ~ Byron Hyde

From: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome : The Limbic Hypothesis
"In some studies the CFS panic disorder, particularly in those patients with no premorbid moon disorders seems to be somewhat different. The anticipatory anxiety seems to be much more autonomous, as if it were being generated by a neurotransmitter disorder, as one might see in a post-viral syndrome. Once again, most CFS symptoms do not usually resolve when panic and anxiety are reduced or even eliminated. This clinical observation supports the hypothesis that a limbic encephalopathy is involved with most cases of CFS, and that one aspect of this process would be panic disorder.
"It is hypothesized that the prefrontal cortex generates agoraphobia by stimulus generalization as a result of random panic attacks. I prefer to interpret agoraphobia as being a dysfunction of heteronmodal and paralimbic input to limbic structures and not to restrict agoraphobia to the prefrontal cortex. However, a "panic disorder circuit has been proposed from the medullary reticular area to the locus ceruleus, through the dorsal ascending bundle to the limbic lobe and prefrontal cortex and back to the nucleus reticularis gigantocellaris, which gives primary stimulatory input to the locus ceruleus. My view would inovle more cortical structures. This ceircuit would include structures found to be hypoperfused in CFS brain SPECT scans, the anterior temporal lobe and the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex.
"There is a genetic tendency to develop panic attacks. There may also be a learned tendency to catastrophize from geteromodal/paralimbic information, thereby provoking panic attacks. This neuroanatomical hypothesis makes sense for panic disorder, but not for the multitude of CFS symptoms that would be difficulty to fit under the panic disorder aegis. Anti-kindling medications are not particularly effective in CFS, and benzodiasepines rarely affect symptoms other than anxiety, vertigo, or IBS (for which they are effective).
"Calcium channel blockers have anti-anxiety effects, but only nimodipine is of much value in CFS. Nifedepine has been used in epilepsy. A possible use for them would be in combination with acetazolamide and magenesium to interfere with ecitotoxin release after cell injurty, cause by various possible factors, especialy viruses. Magnesium itself has been reported to prevent panic attacks in the so called "neuronal hyperexcitability syndrome" as well as anxiety and somatization. Depression was not affectied."

"Abstract: Objective: In order to clarify the lifetime likelihood of developing psychiatric disorder following the Akureyri disease, we have investigated 55 well documented cases of the Akureyri disease.
"Materials and methods: All participants were interviewed and diagnosed as to psychiatric disorders according to DSM-III.
"Results: Of the 55 subjects included in this analysis 53 were women. The mean age of the participants was 67.7 years. The most common problem was agoraphobia with panic attacks 12.7% (P<0.0001); agoraphobia without panic attacks 21.8% (P<0.0001); social phobia 14.5%(P<0.001); simple phobia 18.1% (P<0.05); schizophrenia 3.6% (P<0.01); and alcohol dependence 5.4% (P<0.05).
"Conclusion: Prolonged chronic fatigue most commonly results in anxiety disorders. Following the infection, the more serious psychiatric disorders do not seem to play a major role in the long run."

ME patients are more prone to anxiety than depression. Lindal E et al. Anxiety disorders: A result of long-term chronic fatigue - the psychiatric characteristics of the sufferers of Iceland disease. Acta Neurologica Scandinavica, 1997, 96, 3, 158-162.
The aim of this study was to assess the likelihood of developing psychiatric disorder following the outbreak of Akureyri disease (i.e. epidemic ME).
The researchers investigated 55 well documented cases of Akureyri disease who were still experiencing symptoms. All participants were interviewed and the results were compared to those of 421 members of the general population.
Of the 55 subjects included in this analysis, 53 were women. The mean age of the participants was 67.7 years. The following disorders were found more commonly among the patients than the controls: agoraphobia with panic attacks 12.7%; agoraphobia without panic attacks 21.8%; social phobia 14.5%; simple phobia 18.1%; schizophrenia 3.6%; and alcohol dependence 5.3%. The rate of recurrent major depression was also higher than in the controls (5.4%) but the difference did not reach significance.
When the patients were compared with 10 people suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), the only significant difference was in the prevalence of lifetime generalised anxiety.
The researchers conclude that prolonged chronic fatigue most commonly results in anxiety disorders, particularly those relating to social conspicuousness. In other words, patients may become afraid of not being able to manage a whole social encounter etc. This is also found in people with SLE. "Following the infection, the more serious psychiatric disorders do not seem to play a major role in the long run."

I tend to believe this world is a world of mirrors much like dreams are. I also believe in shamanism, believing that animals and environmental elements can be symbols, omens and indicators of other things. Feng Shui works on the same principle as well since the house can be read in ways to tell what is going on in the persons life. Palms and astrological charts can be read as well...
So, I often see the physical world as a mirror for the emotional world. The physical world's diseases and its symptoms (physical or emotional) can often represent symbols of some larger emotional pattern underneath. So, in dealing with 20th century disease and looking into common personality traits in suffers (which is great write up in From Fatigue to Fantastic), one can often come up with a shamanistic profile, though one can't vouch that it fits every case.
I find that with the multifacetedness of physical complaints that many suffering from these illnesses will endure, that there is a mish mash of different things going on environmentally, psychically, physically and emotionally. This can all make sense.
Firstly, research wise, there is a strong link in CFS type illness to an underlying history of PTSD or trauma. Many who approach me for help with their CFS, the first question that I usually ask of them is, 'Do you have both a high achieving nature and a need to please/care for others'? I also ask them 'When in your life have you felt utterly defenseless, that you were fighting a no win situation in your relationships, spending more energy than you were getting back, or that you were hypervigilant against being hurt, attacked or compromised'. Most answer 'wow, I never thought of it that way'.
Louise Hay says of CFS that it relates to the feeling that one is expending too much energy and getting too little back. Many CFS suffers I know if you ask them what they need or want they dont know, unless it revolves around 'doing' or 'pleasing'. They only really know what others want. They don't really understand anything about setting self-care boundaries for themselves... but they need to do this to start healing. They need to start viewing themselves as a battery which is running low, and think of ways they can recharge that don't involve expending any energy or giving anything to anyone else.
Thus, CFS suffers are often a unique combination of both doer/acheiver and feeler/empath. Problem is that both the feeler part of their nature and the doer path of their nature are both expending too much energy, are too much striving, and are too competetive or trying to be perfect. Often CFS sufferers have digestion issues, meaning that they simply dont know how to 'digest' care or 'nourishment'. Even if it is offered to them, its awkward for them to accept. They only know how to expend energy out. Thus, CFS sufferers often are malnourished in many ways, intollerant of much of the nourishment that they do receive, be it nutritionally, emotionally, support wise, physically etc. Dehydration can be common too (water being a symbol of nourishment through the feeling realm).
Years of chronic trauma or abuse over time may have heightened a CFS sufferers empathic or psychic sensitivity. When unbalanced, it comes out in the physical world and body as allergies and 'sensitivities'. How do allergies work? Your body basically perceives something 'safe' as a 'threat'. It then raises its defenses, on guard for an 'attack' and starts releasing histamine. Much the same way a sensitive child tries to intuit an unpredictable or unbalanced parents emotions, moods, or next assault (verbal or physical). Empathy becomes a safety mechanism, preparing for fight or flight, though most 'sensistives' originally flee or panic. Empathy thus becomes a way to stay vigalent and alert to all the emotions and dangers that can go on around oneself. Being able to sense all the nuances around oneself, this can help the 'sensitive' to gouge how to best walk on eggshells and thus to feel a sense of safety and control. Such abilities seem to be overwhelming sometimes and can be seens as the 'self' is being attacked by ones own sensitivity and ones environment = allergies.
I find many people with allergies/food sensitivities/chemical sensitivities have some history of trauma or verbal abuse. In Louise Hay's book she links allergies to 'who are you allergic to?', meaning who puts you on guard? Then, as one grows up, one becomes conditioned to be on guard with normal healthy love and nurturing, not really trusting it, because the sufferer has learned not to get too close to anyone lest one be smacked out of nowhere. So, this is represented in being 'allergic' (mounting a histamine defense) against nurturing (symbolized by food) that is supposed to be safe and healthy. Another form of sensitivity is to chemical and toxins which are not really all that 'safe' or nurturing. It just represents one has heavy toxic emotional elements in ones 'environment' which one is 'reacting' to and mounting a histamine defense. There is another form of sensitivity to the healing process. Usually happens if one has become hypervigalent against the body, perceiving the body as a threat. If one has multiple sensitivities to drugs, supplements, detoxification etc, then ask yourself if you see your body as your enemy and attacking you somehow.
To know whether histamine is an issues in your CFS, have a doctor give you a histamine test to see if your blood histamine is high. Then you may want to look into or ask your doctor about a condition called 'histadelia'. Histadelia is marked by allergies and also a high achieving nature. From what I have read, it isnt highly curable on its own (doing nothing) unless one can decrease ones histamine load and balance ones chemistry through taking L-Methionine and other histamine blocking supplements like vitamin C. Be careful with folic acid if you think you may be histadelic.
Another issue that occurs in CFS is problems with immunity. Most people with CFS will find they have chronically elevated white blood cell count. Again, read this emotionally. The body is in essence in a low grade hypervigalence towards a perceived threat (a virus, parasite or infection). Mounting such a non-stop low grade defense both physicall and if read emotionally would be exhausting. I think it is why CFS is so often linked with anxiety disorders. In essence it is true, anxiety underlies them, but its much more complicated than just a simple anxiety diagnosis. To heal one must get beyond the 'anxiety' diagnosis and treat the 'why's' of why one is constantly on guard. This requires looking at environment and making changes. Difference between CFS and plain anxiety that I see is karmic. One is going to allow you the easy way out and to take a drug and keep on as one is keeping on. The other is going to make sure you completely rewire your life or you will be knocked out and incapacitated. If you are getting allergies to everything then life isnt allowing you to simply take a pill and 'tolerate' your surroundings or how you have been handling them. Time to stop expending so much energy, time to get some people around you who support you and dont put you on guard. Time to pay attention to your own needs instead of listening to everyone else. Time to start creating a safe space for yourself to heal. If you are not healing from your condition, take a look at who is in your life. If its a bunch of users, abusers (verbally or otherwise) then time to change this. Time to allow yourself to accept nurturance. To learn how to digest it, love and caring towards yourself. Time to start saying no to what you've been saying yes to and time to start saying yes to what you've been saying no (love).
This whole mishmash going on of multiple problems and symptoms is like suddenly somewhere your psyche or body starts saying 'enough' and you are not going to get away with anymore self abuse, too much compromise, too much overachieving for the wrong purpose, too much denying your sensitivity and your whole system collaspes.
Basically the body starts breaking down and attacking itself. Hence, with CFS one develop concurrent 'autoimmune' conditions. If so, ask yourself 'How are you attacking yourself?' Are you not believing in yourself? Are you invalidating yourself and your needs? Are you putting yourself down too frequently, even in unconscious ways.
A last part to mention in symbology has to do with viruses, parasites and infections. If you read these emotionally and environmentally what do they say?
Parasites feed off a host that is weakened. They suck the life out. So, if you have parasites again, look to who in your life you feel is just sucking your energy dry and feeding off of you, your giving, your empathy, your care. Who do you feel is like a 'psychic vampire'. Viruses are more attacking in nature. So its something invasive which is trying to attack you and bring you down. So who do you feel is trying to bring you down in life through subtle minor self-esteem attacks or even bold ones? Infections are when you get infected with someone elses beliefs, philosophies, ways and these things take you over for a while. You lose part of yourself as the infection takes over. So, if infections are a problem (and throat infections are common to CFS) how are you stopping your self-..throat) in favor of feeling overwhelmed by someone elses ideas, ways, beliefs, agendas etc?
Candida is a specific form of infection with many shifting symptoms. Louis Hay relates it to being scattered and ungrounded (trying to do too many things, splitting off on too many projects, trying to please too many people, having too many goals etc). Why are you doing all of this? If you have Candida issues. If you do have candida or CFS, since both are very scattered type illnesses, its important to find a grounding program for oneself (mild exercise can be one but mostly one needs a way to center and stay in ones body and the present), a clearing program (cause whats physical is emotional and is also psychic so one is weakened and succeptible to all sorts of spiritual phenomenon etc) and a reasonable schedule. If you are hyperactive, try focusing on completing one project at a time. Be consistent with regards to sleeping, eating, working and life. Make sure that schedule allows some down time to reacharge, and to be moderate in ones ambitions or need to please.
For myself, I was a competetive diver, competetive gymnast, on the honor role in school, in raquetball competitions, on students council, going on special acedemic excursions and getting awards. I was also the artist and the pleaser. All of these things at the same time. I went to study in university something that I didnt even want to and never used in order to please my parents. I was just too unstructured, not picking a clearly defined path or goal, trying to do everything to please everyone. I didnt sleep right (pulled many alnighters), didnt eat right, was on antibiotics all the time and headache medicine because I wouldnt pay attention to my body when it was hurting. I didnt get enough to rest because there was always too much to do, to many to please and to much to achieve. I later even developed agoraphobia as a way to sheild myself from pressures from the outside world and its seeming expectations of me to keep being perfectionistic, never allowed to make mistakes or rest (rest is bad and shameful), and the achiever.
People with such illness can find it very hard to heal and overcome such conditions. The medical system and even psychiatric/psychological support can sometimes even complicate the process. Most times medical interventions have played a contributing role in developing dis-ease, through the over prescribing of antibiotics, birth control and other drugs, which over time deplete health and are linked to conditions like Candida Albicans and can make things worse or cause reactions due to sensitivities.. Combine this with an toxic emotional environment in which to attempt to recover and one will find oneself swimming upsteam instead of with the current...

What is PR?
Written by Samantha
Have you ever wondered why you just can't get over a certain habit or issue, or why some people heal while others who have all the potential, resources and abilities don't? They might go to doctors or try numerous therapies and never get anywhere. It used to be thought that such a lack of results was all based on willpower and resolve. It was assumed that those who were having trouble overcoming habits, weakness and addictions really did not want to get better or were just not trying hard enough (ie. they were lazy). In some ways, yes, but not in a simple or voluntary sense.
In contrast to blaming everything on will power and resolve, the concept of psychological reversals links the problem to an imbalance or blockage existing at the level of the energy flow or polarity. The energy is "reversed", and thus flowing in the wrong direction through the meridian system where it causes effects that are not in our best interest or well-being. Healing is then impeded because the body /mind will actually fight against its own healing forces.
Psychological Reversal is estimated to affect 40% of the population. It is predominant in those with depressive or addictive disorders.
"When Psychological Reversal is present, it literally blocks progress." ~ Gary Craig
"There is not a therapist practicing who has not encountered a patient who simply cannot be cured no matter how effective the therapy normally is or how diligently the patient and therapist apply themselves to the task. This resistance to treatment is a frustration to the therapist and a trial to their patients. It has been called by many names, such as: death instinct, the loser syndrome, self-defeating behavior or negativity. These troubled patients are called by many names: recalcitrant patients, negative personalities, self destructive individual - but their situation is always much the same, they seem to resist all help - no matter what approach is used. They claim they want to be cured - but they do not respond to treatment." ~ Dr. Callahan
The first things to test (using muscle tesing) with an EFT client or with yourself if you have an issue are:
"I want to get over {this problem}" "I want to be successful at {acting, music, school, relationships etc}" "I live for life"
Then, try testing the opposite and see if you get the opposite response.
"I don't want to get over {the problem}." "I don't want to be successful at {acting. music, school, relationships, etc}." "I live for death."
If you test psychologically reversed for any of these issues, the next step is to find out why? Where is the reversal? Some people have more than one. I know I did. Here are some reversals to test for:
Deserving: "I deserve to get over this problem" Safety: "It is safe for me to get over this problem" Safety for others: "It is safe for (or will not threaten) others for me to get over this problem" Motivation/Willingness: "I am willing/will do what it takes to get over this problem." Permission: "I will allow myself to get over this problem" Possibility: "It is possible for me to overcome this problem." Benefit: "It is good for me to get over this problem." Resource: "I have what it takes to make life work without this problem." Deprivation: "I will feel deprived if I get over this problem." Identity: "I will lose my identity if I get over this problem" Never: "I will never get over this problem" Readiness: "I am ready to get over this problem." Permanency: "If I get over this problem it won't come back"
Once identifying a reversal, EFT or other Though Field Therapy techniques can be used to correct it. You just use the reversal in your "set up statement" (see prior blog for how to do EFT) and perform the tapping sequence. Example: "Even though I will lose my identity if I get over {the problem), I deeply and completely love and accept myself." The two body points for treating PR are the Karate Chop point on the fleshy side of the hand (just tap on that while repeating the set up statement), or the Sore Spot which there is a diagram on my previous blog for where those points are... (rub this point while repeating the set up statement). Then, pick a reminder phrase, tap all the other EFT points and then retest the reversal. Most times, the reversal is cleared in 1 round of tapping. If its deeper it might take 3 but rarely more. If it does not correct there is another issue or deeper reversal in the way. After reversals are out of the way, the main problem can be tapped on more successfully.

What is EFT?
By Samantha
EFT (also known as Energy Psychology or Meridian Psychotherapy) is a form of Thought Field Therapy that can be done on its own or as a complement with other therapies such as Reiki, Coaching and Flower Essence Therapy. It is used in an increasing number of practices now by doctors, naturopaths and energy workers. It can be performed in person or over the phone.
This simple therapeutic tool involves using certain tapping and acupressure techniques to correct energetic imbalances within the meridian system that can result in habits, slow ability to recover from trauma, negative thinking patterns and/or sabotaging beliefs, phobias, food cravings (good for use in weight loss), food and chemical sensitivities, addictions, physical problems/symptoms, relationship issues and more.
EFT is also useful towards the treatment of what are know as "psychological reversals". Psychological reversals occur as a imbalance in our energy systems which causes us to sabotage or fail in our efforts to overcome certain problems or issues (though we may consciously want to succeed, unconsciously we block it and may deny we are doing this). Such reversals manifest in the form of negative beliefs such as "I don't deserve to be/get well", "Other's need me to be sick, addicted, phobic etc", "If I loose my problem, I will lose my identity", and many other types of reversals. Reversals can be detected through use of muscle testing which can be done on another or done on the self.
What Happens During An EFT Session?
During an EFT session, the first step is to have an issue to focus on (or a list of issues for the client to pick one to start with). From there, the issue is broken down into smaller steps and aspects (new ones may come up in the course of tapping). The aspects are then rated on a scale of 1 to 10 regarding the strength of their emotional effect upon the client. The idea is to work with and tap on aspects till they come down to a level of being rated a 1 or 2 before proceeding to the next one. If they don't come down, then it might be appropriate to test for psychological reversals and to treat those before proceeding.
After asking the client (or yourself if you are your own client) the strength of the aspect/belief on a scale of one to ten (ten being most problematic), the next step is to come up with a "set-up" statement. This statement is framed in a way where the client takes full acknowledgement and responsibility for the imbalance/issue. It works on the premise that one must fully accept an issue before it can be released. So, if your problem was weight loss, and one of your psychological reversals was that on some level you fear that you would lose your identity if you became thin (causing you to self sabotage you efforts), the set up statement would follow something like; "Even though I will lose my identity if I lose weight, I love myself and I accept myself". You can also add on to the end something positive that the client feels would be appropriate, such as "and I now forgive myself" or "I release all others I have blamed for this problem" or whatever feels right to the client. Basically the general set up formula is: "Even though {the problem/issue}, I love myself, I accept myself and I {something positive}.The client would then say this set up statement 3 times while manipulating one of two points used in treating psychological reversals:
- tapping on the trust meridian point on the side of the hand (the Karate Chop point). The fleshing part of the pinky side of the hand
- rubbing the sore/tender spot
Next step is to make up a "reminder phrase" from the set up statement, such as "I will lose my identity". Its basically a shortened version of the set up statement and it's purpose if to keep the client holding the issue in the mind while each point is tapped on. The idea is that if you tap on points while holding an issue in mind it shifts it's energy from being stuck within the meridian system.
So, once having the reminder phrase, the client repeats it while tapping (about 5 times) on each of the individual meridian/acupressure points. The client would start with the point at the top of the head and work down (Eyebrow Point, Side of Eye, Under Eye, Under Nose, Chin Point, Collar Bone Point and Under Arm Point). One can also tap on the hand points if they feel the need. It used to be that a gamut procedure was performed after tapping again each point, and then one tapped each point again, but EFT has been simplified and the gamut procedure has largely been taken out by many practitioners. It involved eye movements and left brain/right brain exercises to bring the two hemispheres into balance.
After the all the points have been tapped while saying the reminder phrase, the strength of the aspect is again measured on a scale of 1 to 10. The process is repeated until the aspect is down to a 0 or 1 level (usually takes 1 to 3 rounds of tapping, but sometimes more). For more complicated phobia or issues with a lot of reversals, more work may be required.
Often homework can be given for which the client will be asked to tap on a main issue at lease 15 times during the day till the next session (or until the issue resolves itself).
EFT Tapping Points

Collarbone (CB): Kidney Meridian. In the junction where the breastbone meets the collarbone. When tapped it helps with impetus and willpower to complete tasks, promotes gentleness, relieves mental strain and is an important point for the entire body mind system. It is also a pain control center.
Under Arm (UA): Spleen Meridian. On the side of the body, 4 inches below the armpit. When tapped it helps with clarity and concentration. Also helps with anxiety and addictive urges and the ability to take life as it comes. Helps with digestion and assimilation (mental and physical).
Thumbnail (Th): Lung Meridian. On the outside edge of the thumb at the base of the nail. When tapped it helps release negativity, disdain and intolerance. Helps increase intuition and vitality. Is a main point in the treatment of OCD.
Index Finger (IF): Large Intestine Meridian. On the side base (closest to thumb) of the index fingernail. When tapped, relieves guilt, resentment and frees emotions. Letting go point. Helpful with mental constipation and promoting positive outlook and future planning.
Middle Finger (MF): Pericardium Meridian. Same place as on the index finger except on the middle finger. Bonding point. Helpful with jealousy, regret and feelings of inferiority. Helpful in clearing airborne allergies. Helps with humor.
Little Finger (LF): Heart Meridian. Same place as on the index finger except on the pinky. Unconditional love point. When tapped, is helpful in development of empathy, compassion, joy, optimism and unconditional love. Helpful in long term memory and removing limited thinking. Good point for tranquility and emotional balance.
Karate Chop (KC): Small Intestine Meridian. In the middle of the fleshy part of the pinky side of the hand. Trust point. When tapped is helpful in treatments of psychological reversals. Helps to remove self-hatred, self-doubt, low self-esteem and low confidence. When tapped is helpful in improving ability to recover from shock.
Precautions
In a small number of cases, EFT can result in what are called "abreactions". Never bring yourself or a or anyone else into direct mental or physical contact with something (a memory, photograph, object, anything triggering panic) that causes extreme fear or trauma. Never pressure an exposure to a fearful incident that yourself or another is unready to face. Use EFT responsibly. Those who want to discuss the use of EFT for a specific emotional problem are encouraged to look for licensed practitioners who use EFT in their practices. It is also recommended to hydrate yourself before and after an EFT session.

Most of us, in some part have within us some deficit of feeling wholey loved and cared for... Even those of us who grew up in good families can feel this deficit at times. Sometimes we can seek to find ways to fill that deficit from outside of us instead of from within. There is an EFT technique one can use to try to encourage a meditation on being loved from a source that we all have control over... be it God (an eternal and unconditional source) or ourselves.
The karate chop point on the hand (the fleshy part on the pinky side of hand) can be tapped while visualizing love flowing from God or from yourself to yourself. If you know trauma happened to you at a younger age or as a baby where you may have not felt loved or wanted (such as if your mother had post partum or you were given up for adoption), you can use that in your visualization. It definitely helps to go as far back to the root of the issue as possible.
Tapping on the karate chop point is the acupressure/meridian point that helps with what is called "pschological reversal". If you do not know what psychological reversal is, basically it's when we want one things (ie, to feel loved), but there are unconscious blocks to being able to really manifest or feel it (ie, such as we dont feel we deserve it, it's impossible etc). So tapping on the karate chop point of the hand while visualizing receiving love from a source, the world etc, can help break through any resistances and is especially useful if you even find visualizing this difficult.
Infinite Love and Gratitude... Samantha

There is a great site with lots of mp3's for those interested in using EFT with the Law of Attraction. http://www.eft-talk.com . Anyways, this site helps teach use of EFT to face and use EFT on the stuff we would think "oh I can't think those things cause its against the Law of Attraction and i might manifest it" ... However, you are thinking and vibrating such ideas anyways, so might as well face them with love... Information on how to do EFT can be found at http://www.emofree.com . Anyone interesting in trying a little EFT let me know...
One important thing about the Law of Attraction is that it works on what you are vibrating even unconsciously, even if you try to suppress such mental or other states. Plus, because there is a law of polarity (two states exist on the same pole, ie. peace/violence), what you wish to create you can attract the opposite if your intention is subtly focused on a state you wish to move away from.
Laws of neutrality/no-judgement thus come into play... There are many universal laws, and how Law of Attraction is being used in certain ways can play for them or against them... Work with all the Laws together... Even "A Course in Miracles" recommends not to try to create miracles if not from a place of neutrality (no investment in outcomes) without fear, for you will likely create something that you don't want. First task is to see yourself and all of you very clearly and all of your illusions realizing they are nothing to judge and just illusions (both good and bad, don't make distinctions), then you can start realizing you are in the dream lucidly and can manipulate it.
The highest law is love. Whatever you push away in yourself from loving it, be it a state, personality trait or even another person, you will draw to you in various forms, ways or other people to teach you to learn to love. And love here isn't some romantic ideal and doesnt mean you become passive, just that you become accepting and loving towards the you inside, all parts of you, the hurts and foibles with the joys. A rich man may attract a wealth of money, but excessively need more because he never feels rich enough... so is this man rich or poor? So what is he not loving in himself?
I believe that this is probably how karma works and even reincarnation.... that it is about love and not punishment. We are hear to accept and learn to love and transcend all... Is all dreams anyways... don't hate your dreams.... they are all interesting... You don't have to stress so hard over changing them, let them change from the inside out... and let the inside tell you what needs you right now... like a little child seeking for you just to be there and understand and not always try to fix everything... there is a little child in you needing you this way too.

The idea for creating this healing center and having a page on myspace came from having a different page on myspace and finding there are numerous individuals online recovering from conditions and seeking information. I have been recommended to a few individuals to speak with them in areas pertaining to CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrom), EI (Environmental Illness), Candida Albicans, Allergies, Spiritual connection to such conditions, Kundalini Awakenig and its connection and also connection with empathic and psychic sensitivity and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I found I myself, ended up recommending others to Steven of globalhealingsolutions.com who I have used myself and the two of us thought maybe we could work together and create a forum on myspace for these types of issues...
For anyone interested in learning more, feel free to ask or inquire. As a disclaimer however, we are not physicians and one should always seek the advise of qualified professionals in any area concerning ones mental and physical health and treatment of any existing conditions. We are here to support and offer alternative services, but not to replace qualified medical or professional care.
