Current mood: pissed off
Category: Blogging
Remember that post of getting overtime back? Yeah well, they pulled it again so I'm re-screwed until they decide to bring it back sometime during the holidays. Meanwhile my finances will dwindle on. On a slightly lighter note, watching my family snap at each other like hungry jackals has been somewhat entertaining lately. No major arguing(yet) just stupid things. These days while most families are pulling their resources in order to ride this recession out together, mine has taken an approach more fit for a season of Survivor or any other stupid reality show you can think of. The whole "us vs them" mentality is pretty stupid. It doesn't bother me as much as it does my sister since I'm used to it. I just stop at Subway or Wawa when I can afford it since my folks prefer to just make dinner(or go out) for only themselves these days. It wouldn't be as bad if it weren't for the pain in the ass known as my father. His constant bitching, whining, complaining about...well everything really downs the morale around here. He acts like a spoiled child or as my nephew puts it "a spoiled little girl" rambling on & on until he gets his way then pouts & whines some more if he doesn't(or even when he does get his way). I gotta get away from these idiots. I bet watching their self destruction would be even more entertaining from a distance.

Current mood: blah
For some reason I couldn't type in here last week. Ah well. Here's the post birthday fallout: Ordered some new sneakers, bought Contra: Rebirth on Wiiware(the action reminds me of Contra 3 & it's not as brutal as Contra 4), bought myself a cake, drank Cherry Pepsi, hung out online. The one WTF part had to be when my folks left then came back after driving my sister to the airport(she's heading to Greece & Turkey). My mother tells me on the way home that my dad told her that she should feel like an unfit mother for not baking me a cake. The Hell? I never asked her to make me one & she has so much stuff on her mind right now that the thought never occurred to her to make one. It wasn't a big deal in the least. Actually, I'm more crabby about the lady lying to me at the store that the cake was a yellow cake(my fav), saying white & yellow were the same thing. Bullocks to that. Next up, looks like I'll be getting those extra hours back at that cruddy job. In the nick of time too as I was heavily considering getting a second job instead. Also I didn't know I could be as broke as I am while still employed & not owning a home. Kind of amazing really. That starts next week though. This week I had off Labor Day & I'm taking Wednesday off too as a present to myself.

Current mood: cranky
When my mother got wind of this story, she turned to me & was concerned that I'd do something like that
because like that dude, I don't have much going for me in the way of
girlfriends. Actually, next month I'll be 30 & I still have never
even been on a date let alone got laid. But unlike that guy, it doesn't
consume me like that. I've accepted my flaws(physical, mental, etc)
& learned to deal with them. So don't worry, I won't be
running & gunning the streets for that reason. Actually, when I
first heard about it, I thought he was upset of rising gym fees. Now
that I can understand. The lack of relationship thing...watch porn, buy
a sex toy(make it a Real Doll if you have deep pockets), & hit the
cyber/roleplay sex chats.

Current mood: cranky
That diet of mine dies at midnight. Lost weight, good for health, yadda yadda...Dammit I want some red meat! Not much has been going on. Well at least nothing worth mentioning other than the norm which I think we all know by now sucks. Well in something that resembles good news, I got those missing 6 hours from work back. Of course I'd rather make more while doing less.

Current mood: crappy
Category: Blogging
Not much to say really. Work manages to suck more & more by the day but just about everyone I know can say the same thing about their own jobs these days, right? By Wednesday it got to the point where I simply stopped speaking to everyone that I didn't have to & when I did t was quick one or two worded answers. Meh. Had some fun last weekend though when I finally hung out with those DAS guys again. Good eatin' at a place called Potstickers. It's an Asian restaurant with good(though pricey) food. As for this weekend, if all goes well I'll spend much of it in front of a computer &/or TV screen. Speaking of which, I have some more eps of Poltergeist: The Legacy on my DVR that I need to get back to.

Current mood: blah
Skipping work related stuff 'cause you all know how that infuriates me. Anywho, finally The Conduit came out & it rocks....mostly. I get the ol' FPS dizzy spells toying around with the settings have helped a bit. I still get them especially in moments of frustration when I have to keep wandering around the same room in circles while trying to find a damn node on the wall so I can unlock a stupid door which should be destructable anyway. The dizziness either doesn't happen at all when I play online or at such a reduced degree that it doesn't bother me. Lag on the other hang is the demon here. Hard to rack up kills as it is when people bunny hop all over the place(which is why FPS games should NEVER have a jump button) but when you add lag to the mix, you get players that warp out of the crosshairs & you fall dead as they reappear off the the side. The price to pay for a wireless router I guess. I did dominate one free for all match when there were only 4 or 5 other players on the map(less lag?). Something like 12 kills & 3 deaths. Haven't seen a K/D spread like that in a FPS since my Perfect Dark days. In other news. Got one of those spam emails from classmates.com again. 50 people signed my guest book or whatever. Of course I was curious since I don't think I even talked to 50 people on a regular basis in high school. I sure as Hell can't name 50 people from there. I was almost ready to sign up just to see their names but that logically side of my brain kicked in & thank you wikipedia. I'm still trying to figure out how that site stays in business considering all of the 100% totally free social networking sites out there.

Current mood: pissed off
Went to hang out with those DAS guys again & just like last month I ended up wasting time & gas money because no one was there. Double & triple checked their site so I knew I had the right day yet when I asked for info from the library staff....it's -next- week on the 27th. The Hell? I like that group & all but I can't keep making pointless trips to Wilmington every month with the way my crappy wallet is. I may have to stop going down there. And people wonder why I typically avoid social interaction in person. It's a Hell of a lot cheaper to stay online &/or in front of my TV.

Current mood: blah
Well on the plus side, I've been dealing with this detox nonsense fairly ok. Learned the hard way that a banana is not breakfast(those herbal pills kept me in the bathroom & going back & forth in there for a good hour). I am losing inches though, recently fit back into some shorts I bought 5 or 6 years ago but never got around to throwing away that I found while cleaning out my closet. Then again people were noticing me slimming down even before I started this so my patented Poorman's Diet(if you can't afford it, you can't eat it) can be given credit too. On the negative side my crappy job has done yet another round of layoffs. They got rid of 3 or 4(won't know for sure til next week) on my shift. Really sucky since two of them I got along with. One of them I considered the only source of intelligent conversation in that place so the collective IQ of that dump suffered a significant drop. Everyone's fairly certain that they're trying to shut the place down with the way management has been acting just plain stupid. Ugh... At least the weather is nice today. What? I like it dark & gloomy like this.

You know us gamers & how we have to check our stats. HP/MP, score, exp points, etc. Did a bit of that for real today when I finally had the chance to check out a holistic doctor that I heard about from my mother. The drive there was a pain in the ass as it was in Dover which is just a honeycomb of speed traps where speed limits change every 2 miles. I tried the cruise control for the first time but what good is it once the speed limit fluctuated once I got the thing working? Any who, I'm not dying from anything which is good. On the sucky side, the things that concerned her were my nerves seem to be on the shot side(which I knew since my hands & fingers often twitch or lock up) & apparently I've raised Hell on my liver. I'm on a 90 day diet which will be my personal Hell(No red meat, pork, soda = misery) & I'll be taking some herbs too. If I had money in my wallet, I would have raided Wawa & had a goodbye feast.

Current mood: irritated
Not a bad experience considering what I know of other people's funerals. Actually things were rather upbeat at times. Car ride there was a pain & the ride back was even worse. The plan was after the services were over I'd hitch an early ride back with my sister & leave my folks behind but that idiot stayed to the friggin end of the dinner/lunch/whatever part. Because it took her for-damned-ever to find her glasses, decide which one of her awful CDs to play, then take a molasses tour home, my parents actually got there -before- us. Ugh..knew I should have came alone in my own car... At least my frustration of the car rides & staying pretty much silent most of the time(noticed early in the day people would either ignore me or brush me off when I spoke so I just gave up talking & let them stumble over their own stupidity) I had the energy to hit Wawa & get me a Roast Beef sandwhich. Mmm I love those.
