We have two releases coming up and for one of them there is a little spot where you (yes YOU) could join the ranks of Netherbird as the lead guitarist!

So if you play the guitar or if you know a friend who has got the skills, read on!

We will cover four tracks and one of these is the fantastic “Nepenthe” by Sentenced. Are you a skilled lead guitairst with access to equipment to record a solo for this tune? Then dont be afraid to give this a go!

Below is a player where you can hear the part of the tune and instructions on where to start playing you solo and where to end! You can also download the music as MP3. Record your lead and send it (or a link to a place where we can here it) to lead@netherbird.com. We will listen to all contributions and the ones we like the most will be placed for a vote on netherbird.com and the one with the most votes will be included on the song.

Some things to note
1.) We will include you as part of the recording line up for the cover EP
2.) We will not release this recording on CD, just as a free download release (including all four songs in high quality mp3 + pdf-artwork)
3.) We will not pay anything for your participation since we will not earn any income from this tribute to old masters

Netherbird has over the past few years grown from a obscure effort into a full band with a growing number of friends and listeners in all parts of the world. We had the vision from the very first day to establish something relevant where music and art meet in a blend of darkness and beauty. In the early days we worked with session members and friends but the goal was to establish a band ready to deliver devastating releases and fantastic live shows. Today we have a number of releases and a line up ready to take on the big challenges ahead of us.
 
So this is the point where we feel we need to establish a network of strong partners who share our vision of what dark music is about and who are ready to team up with us to shape the scene of tomorrow, people who see that our close connection with our listeners is the main aspect of what we do and whom are just as hard working as we are ourselves, so this is where some old affiliations will have to go and be replaced by new ones.
 
We are ready to present our ideas and our concept for what Netherbird is and what we will make this band into during the coming decade. Enough talk, what the hell are we looking for?
 
Management
We look for a management agency for regional or international collaboration.
 
Booking agency
We are ready to do gigs both at festivals and in places where we have a big following. So we are open to either regional/national companies as well as an international partner.
 
Record label - vinyl
We think that vinyl is a hell of a wonderful format and we have a number of possible releases ready if we find the right company to work with. So a specialized vinyl record label is very welcome!
 
Record label
We are discussing with a number of labels but these days a lot of the major players are hard pressed and we honestly don’t see the passion labels used to have so we might actually release future releases on our own label but with the right partner we might reconsider that and we are always open to licensing deals so if you are representing label with the future in sight, do get in touch!
 
So if you work with/for a company, or know a people who do, and whom might be interested in Netherbird do get in touch.

We get requests from various radio stations and webcasts (web radio stations) with various requests. So we want to make this crystal clear: We ALWAYS support the scene no matter the size of your station/webcast, we believe in the underground and that is why everyone is welcome to get in touch!

We got a special package for radio/webcast with some tunes and some information and all you got to do is to include some sort of link to the station (or send the message from a profile for the station). If you request our package from Myspace, send a message from the profile for the station/webcast, or if you prefer you can send it by email to radio@netherbird.com and we will respond.

Being part of the same underground we also will do all we can to make the extra effort for you and your radio/webcast station! So feel free to also ask for:

* A special tag/intro/leader where a member of Netherbird greets your listeners. Just write what you want said and we will have it done! (But your station better be metal or alternative, otherwise we might remain silent ;)

* Interviews, we can either do them live or give answers to your questions as wave-files for you to edit and then broadcast

we are proud to announce that Tobias Gustafsson has joined Netherbird as bassist. We have spent 48 hours in studio Scarecrow recording bass for our next release and it was a grand ride and Tobias was quite evidently the right man for the job, both because of his skills as a musician and as a person. He blended right into this flock of stray souls and will add a lot to the future sound of the band with both his bass and voice.














Tobias Gustafsson is no stranger to the metal scene and he is currently the vocalist in Revengia and has played in Eucharist, The End (Swe) and Armageddon (Swe).

More info will come and you will hear his craft on the next release! So now give the man a warm welcome to the dark flock! You can now find his profile among our top friends.

This also means that Netherbird now has a full line up ready to handle the gigs that will come in years ahead!

Sitting here listening to the tracks of our next EP - ”Monument Black Colossal” writing lyrics. It is a good three hours past midnight and the city is black outside. Just wanted to let you all know how damn important you are to us all in the band, you are the reason why Netherbird makes sense and why I find it so rewarding to put my thoughts into lyrics for these new tunes.

This EP will be out sometime during early fall, and I think you will enjoy it. I sure know I enjoy the process of creating this piece of darkness and I cannot wait to have it out. I also look forward to performing these tunes live in years ahead. Thank you all, each and everyone of you, for making this such a grim and grand ride. YOU are Netherbird, just as much as myself or anybody else involved in the band.
