American Classic Drama
Based on Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning book, the story is told through the eyes of Scout, the spunky and curious daughter of lawyer Atticus Finch. When her father agrees to defend a young black man, Scout meddles in the mysteries of her small racially divided town and finds that justice and truth aren't necessarily one and the same.

I have listed the cast of SHERLOCK HOLMES below.  Thank you so much for auditioning.  As I said at the auditions, we have several opportunities this year for local and regional actors.  I look forward to seeing you again. 

 

If you would like to be considered for TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD and did not attend our open auditions this past weekend, please let me know.  We will be  doing a make up open audition for those actors who were not able to attend the open auditions. I will be taping the  auditions for the guest directors of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD and THE PONDER HEART. 

We have not set the date for the make up audition but it will probably be Saturday, August 16th.

We have completed the casting for our final show of the 2007-2008 season, THE FANTASTICKS, at New Stage Theatre.  Thank you for auditioning.  As always, I was very impressed with the level of talent at the auditions.  I hope to see you at auditions for the 2008-2009 season.  We have a lot of larger cast shows scheduled for the season.  Because of the talent I have seen at auditions and on stage during the last two years, I feel confident that many of next season's casting needs will be met by Mississippi talent.  The date of the season open auditions has not been announced yet but will be posted on the website by mid-may.

New Stage announces an addition to the 42nd season: Tuesdays with Morrie by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom; based on the book by Mitch Albom.  This show will take place in the Hewes Room March 26-30, 2008.  John Maxwell and Joseph Frost star in this heart-warming drama that becomes a last class on the lessons of life.  Tickets are $15 and $12 for seniors and students ($8 student rush ticket still available for this show one hour prior to performance with valid student ID).  Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 601-948-3531 or online at www.newstagetheatre.com.

Hello,
I know I am really tardy with this but I wanted to thank everyone for auditioning for New Stage's production of DOUBT.  The talent I auditioned was awesome.  The theatre community in our area is so fortunate to have you here.  I hope everyone will continue to audition at New Stage.  We will be announcing the 2008- 2009 season in a couple of months and we will be having some activity this spring in our Unframed at New Stage Theatre series so there may some more auditions of interest to every body. Scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa's eight tiny reindeer accuses him of a crime. This dark Christmas comedy is a devious take on Christmas in a politically correct world.

Auditions for The Fantasticks
Auditions for the musical The Fantasticks will be held on December 15.  We will be seeking four male actor/singers, two male actors for non-singing roles, one young female actor/singer and one female actor for a non-singing role.  The auditions are open to any actor 18 and older. Actors who attended the theatre's open auditions in August do not need to audition again.  Interested actors should prepare a one minute monologue and a song to be sung with piano accompaniment (please bring sheet music to audition).  Performances will be May/June 2008 and is being directed by Peppy Biddy. If interested, please call the theatre at 601-948-3533, ext. 222 for an audition appointment.  Deadline for obtaining an audition appointment time is December 13.
