NODISKO 5th BIRTHDAY

FABRIC ROOM 3

SATURDAY 17TH JANUARY

DJs:
GUGLIELMO MASCIO (ITALY)
BJORN TORSKE (NORWAY)
LAZERSONIC & ZAK FROST (3 HOUR LIVE / DJ SET)

+ in the other rooms JOHN TEJADA, LUKE SLATER & more...

On Saturday 17th January Nodisko celebrates its 5th birthday with a return to the lovely little rave box that is Fabric Room 3. All three of our previous parties there have been off the wall and this is set to be even bigger...

For this party I have booked my personal favorite two DJs in the entire world: Guglielmo Mascio and Bjorn Torske. Both have been regular guests at Nodisko through the last 5 years for one simple reason: they have an innate knowledge of good music and a total understanding of exactly what makes a dancefloor tick.

Bjorn is based in the wilds of Western Norway and is known as the daddy of the entire Norwegian electronic music scene - from his pioneering releases for Djax Up Beats, Svek, Ferox, Telle Records and Smalltown Supersound; his mentoring of Royksopp (for whom he is also tour DJ and brother in law) and his astonishing DJ sets around the world. When Bjorn takes to the decks you never know what you're going to get but it's always spectacular.

Guglielmo is based in the wilds of Eastern Italy and is one of the hottest DJs on the Italian underground. The first time we ever did a party in fabric Room 3 (back in 2005 if my memory serves me right), Gu finished the night with one of the best sets I have ever heard anywhere - the room was so packed that security had to shut off the entrance and the whole room was jumping up and down in unison!

I will also be doing a debut three hour live / DJ set with my new production partner Lazersonic. The night will be a launch party for our upcoming single "Levels" (featuring Ali Love), released the same week on Eye Industries. We'll also be previewing our new material on Turbo Recordings and plenty of unreleased stuff.

Appearing in the other rooms will be Poker Flat main man John Tejada, techno pioneer Luke Slater, a live set from Donnacha Costello and more TBC

It's been an amazing 5 years for Nodisko, with some unforgettable events at clubs across the capital and beyond, and over 100 amazing guest DJs - particular highlights include Claudio Coccolutto, Simian Mobile Disco, The Glimmers, Dirt Crew, Brodinski and many more. Starting out with our weekly Sunday night soirees in West London we've since gone on to host or co-host events at Herbal, Turnmills, The End, Tabernacle, Fabric, Hub, Canvas, Jamm, The Key and Bar Rumba. If you're looking for uber-dull minimal techno, cheap Ableton electro house or irritating shouty nu rave then Nodisko is not for you... instead expect some of the finest house, techno, disco and acid ever made all mixed up with a healthy disregard for pigeon holes (they're for pigeons, right?)*

Nodisko v Codex

Sat Nov 1

* Critics' Choice

Bar Rumba, 36 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, W1D 7EP

Come here for jackin' electro house to eclectic, futurist disco as these premier promoters unite. Brodinski stormed it last month but tonight Arcobaleno label boss and prolific Italo-meets-techno remixer Serge Santiago headlines alongside Nodisko's Zak Frost and Nico DeCeglia (Codex) plus a secret guest playing a rare house set. In room two Hippocampus features ace DJs Mike Oman and arch bloggers Tony Poland (Slutty Fringe) and the Skull Juice duo.

Nodisko vs. Codex

Saturday October 4th at Bar Rumba, London W1

Two of London's most respected underground clubs join forces for an unholy alliance of nocturnal misbehaviour, giving London's flagging club scene a much needed adrenaline shot…

Headlining the night will be Brodinski - the most exciting DJ and producer to explode onto the scene in recent years. Championed by everyone from Soulwax to Laurent Garnier his "Bad Runner" track on Mental Groove was one of the most original and outstanding records of 2007. Yes, he may hail from France but he is quite unlike any of his Parisian peers – expect noisy techno, bass heavy house, melodic minimal and futuristic acid.

Joining him will be Nodisko resident Zak Frost with his new production partner Lazersonic – recently signed to Tiga's Turbo Recordings their track "Aquaplane" will be released later this year with huge remixes. The duo have also just finished a brand new track with Ali Love (Chemical Brothers).

Also in the house will be Codex maestro Nico De Ceglia. DJ, promoter, journalist, A&R supremo and Radio 1 scout for Pete Tong - is there anything that Nico doesn't do? As well as being a regular fixture on the London club scene he has played all over the world from Miami to Ukraine, as well as regular trips back to his native Italy.

Last but not least the mighty Severino. Very in-demand on the London circuit from Fabric to Trailer Trash and of course his legendary residency at Horse Meat Disco in Vauxhall, Severino is a DJ who knows how to make the dancefloor move.

Nodisko rocked East London all last year with parties at Herbal, Turnmills and Fabric and guest sets from Simian Mobile Disco, Claudio Coccoluto, Munk, Kavinsky and The Glimmers - getting voted one of the top 50 clubs in the world in DJ magazine along the way.

Codex has been a West End institution for the last 4 years with their residency at AKA; a home from home for many of Europe's leading DJs like Lopazz, Ralf, Padded Cell and Rob Mello, with a vibe that never stands still thanks to an ever changing blend of influences.

Nodisko and Codex are now teaming up to rock London on the first Saturday of every month! It's all taking place at Bar Rumba – a clubland legend in the heart of the West End, relaunching for a new generation of party people this autumn.

Thought London nightlife was all about the East? Think again…..

Having first appeared as a minor blip on clublands radar in November 2003, Nodisko has established itself as one of the capitals most forward-thinking and downright daring discos.

The party was launched by DJ/promoters Zak Frost and Magic Jase one Sunday night at the clandestine Woody's, a former warehouse space and after-hours, members-only club in West London. What started as a debauched, low-key way to end the weekend soon became the hottest ticket in town where we showcased the new and exciting sounds of Italo-disco, electro-house, quirky German techno and modern Balearic long before the pack caught up. It quickly became an institution, an intimate and inclusive end-of-week workout built on word-of-mouth - rather than hype - alone.

Since the party started we've consistently championed the pioneers and up-and-coming future heroes of the European underground, giving many current hot London DJs and overseas stars their first exposure (see list below!).

In 2006 Nodisko moved to the 600-capacity JAMM in Brixton for a series of huge mini festival-style all-nighters, curated two hugely-successful live electronic music events under the name Nodisko Live at Cargo and for one year ran a monthly off-shoot called Ultimo Disko at AKA in London's West End.

We've also hosted rooms at some of London's best parties, including The Cross for X-Press 2's Muzik Xpress night (July 2004), Deepdownanddirty at The Key (December 2005), All Night Long (hosting the AKA with Laurent Garnier in The End, December 2004), and the ever-ace Room 3 at Fabric. In April 2006 we hosted a room as part of the inaugural Acid Tiger Motel party at Canvas/The Key (other guests included Marc Romboy (Systematic), Digitalism, Tommie Sunshine and the Gomma Records gang).

Following our final party at JAMM in September 2006 we celebrated our Third Birthday with an all-nighter at Clerkenwell rave palace Turnmills (December 2006) and returned for our second all-nighter in Room 3 of London megaclub Fabric (January 2007).

And in February 2007 we launched our first ever residency in the East End at ace warehouse space Herbal. The packed party featured special guests from Rome Franz & Shape (launching their 'Acceleration' album on Relish Records with a live set) and new heroes of acid house Simian Mobile Disco. This was then followed in 2007 by further parties at Herbal (with Claudio Coccoluto and Cajuan), Hub (with Munk and Kavinsky), Fabric Room 3 (with The Glimmers and Rub-N-Tug) and our 4th birthday party at Turnmills (with Stephan Bodzin).

We were also voted one of the top 50 clubs in the world in a major poll of top DJs in DJ Magazine..
