I won't be posting to this blog any longer. In fact, I probably won't be using MySpace much any more either. The numerous hackings and the pages too stuffed full of hi-res pics and music that they lock my poor lil Mac have finally worn me down.

So I'm posting here now. Go check it out and do the RSS feed thingy; pester me if I'm not posting!

See ya there.

It's getting nasty out there. As this comment to INP demonstrates:

To All...
I'm so new to this but compelled to post. No matter if the issue is the is illegal voter registration, caucus start time, or at-large sites, the truth of the matter is that I saw these types of unethical behaviors with my own eyes. It's not about being a poor loser because BO actually won my precinct and the state delegates. So it is not about whining. It is about filthy politics.

I was the chair of my caucus meeting and I literally had an out of state HRC supporter lie to me and say she lived in my precinct. Gave me her name and everything as we searched through the voter reg stickers. I challenged her residency, then she admitted to being an out of state HRC staffer...told me their HRC attorneys said she can act as an active precinct captain as oppossed to a silent observer. I had to call ER number for the NV Dem Party several times on her. After the Party said that she could not paricipate as a persuading precinct captain, she ran out of the door shouting, "They won't let me participate...their not letting any HRC people participate." Just trying to get a commotion started.

They were even at the caucus site with all of the HRC signs taped on every table in our caucus room at before I got there at 9:45. As the chair our report time was 10:00, so we could set up the room. I couldn't even set up. They refused to leave. Refused to remove all of their signs from every table. Posting signs go against the rules. I had already made generic computer signs for each candidate. I had to call to report this too. I had to get serious with them.

One HRC supporter, who challenged me as permenant chair of the meeting, tried to snatch my DEM party instruction booklet from me when she nominated herself as Perm Chair. CRAZY!!

And then announced on stage to the 108 folks there, "See they are not cooperating, I tried to take her book so that I can read the same statement she just read and she refused to give it to me." DUMMY!! I'm not going to just hand you my credentials and instruction manual..we have to take a vote on perm chair. She was not pleased that it went in my favor.

The HRC out of state supporters refused to stay in the Oberver section, kept barking at people. And this takes the cake...at 12:15,she even pushed the side door of the cafeteria open for 2 more HRC supporters. I had to escort them out and they were very combative, almost refusing to leave.

Hey I'm a DEM to the heart. Although I am a BO supporter, HRC would have automatically gotten my vote if she won the nomination. Not anymore. You can believe what you want to believe. I know what happened in my precinct. Based on Saturday's events, I'd go GOP before I would ever vote HRC, and in LV area so many other DEMS agree with me. And that is the real shame.

***

Despite the reports of aggressive behavior by both the Obama and Clinton supporters (I can anecdotally confirm that both candidate's supporters used questionable tactics) I am very pleased that more than 100,000 Nevadans participated.

Don't let anyone ever say we're apathetic! If the politicians can't or won't say it to you personally, let me say it: Thank you a thousand times! I know many of you took time out of your busy schedules to make their voices heard.

And for those of you who are Californians, Washingtonians, or whatever, your primaries are just around the corner. Get out there and make sure YOUR VOTE IS COUNTED.

Democracy rocks.

According to INP "Obama has been working the rurals and has some sizeable support in Elko."

What the heck is going on out there? I need to go to Elko.

Here are some more pics from a few weekends ago. These are of the statue that was added to the Vietnam War Memorial. It's technically part of the whole monument, but it clearly has a different modus operandi.

After the wall was put in, many people criticized it as inappropriate. They felt the memorial did the veterans a dis-service by keeping the wounds of the war fresh in metaphorical form.

Some explanation: there are two types of monuments, not just in DC, but in the world. The first is a traditional. It is designed to solidify a mythical version of history in the collective memory of its audience. The Lincoln Memorial is a traditional monument because it literally deifies Lincoln. The second is post-modern. Its purpose is to remind the viewers of a problem in their collective history. The first affirms, the second questions.

Because of the dissatisfaction (in some circles) with the wall, the statue was added. The statue is a traditional monument. When you stand by it, you will likely hear a vet say, "It's so realistic!" They're not wrong. The details are impressive. Except, it's NOT realistic, not at all. Yes, the equipment is accurate. Rather than bronze spears, these contemporary Spartans carry automatic rifles and canteens. But look at the hands.

Those veins are not realistic. They're weapons, but not realistic. There's another word for what this is:

Glorified
