Wooo... long time no update.

Paperbag Productions is gearing up to move forward at a faster rate of speed with their current documentary project. Further details will be posted shortly, along with a trailer for everyone's enjoyment. Feedback, as always, is welcome.

This project is shaping up to be quite the little bag of tricks. We have enjoyed the warm comforts of having the doc "idea" being very well accepted in the film community. We have also been getting plenty of wonderful feedback from our favorite peers and we can't wait to work with all of you.

Soon we will have crew and cast secured, and we will be ready for take off soon as we can afford the tickets.

Life is good. Over and Out.

Cheers,
Ellen Arden

"Never Odd Or Even" a film written, produced and directed by Ellen Arden and Theresa Jasko has been has been chosen as an "Official Selection" of the 4th Annual Flint Film Festival  to take place MAY 17th - 20th at Mott Community College.

Screenings will be held:

FRIDAY 4:30pm - 6:30pm -Short Film Showcase

SATURDAY 4:30pm - 6:30pm -Short Film Showcase

For other information about the 4th Annual Flint Film Festival - including other screening info and driving directions -  visit www.flintfilmfest.com

If you plan on catching "Never Odd Or Even" at either of those showings, please arrive at the theater 5-10 minutes prior to "screening time". "Never Odd Or Even" is the FIRST film set to play on both days... so get there early or you'll miss a few precious minutes of it.

Don't know what "Never Odd Or Even" is? Well, here's an explanation to help you along!

.....................................

Paperbag Productions presents "Never Odd Or Even" as short film by Ellen Arden and Theresa Jasko;

What happens when a small-town, middle-aged theater actor scores an audition for a big-budget action flick?

You'll find out as we follow Chet Marshall (Mike Sobocinski) in Never Odd or Even.

Chet is "that guy" everyone has met, whether or not you work in the film industry. When he's not attacking the craft services [food] table, he can be found talking about philosophy, bragging about his immense knowledge of the cinema and practicing his gung-fu. He's not quite in reality, but his heart is in the right place. Chet may be annoying and full or himself, but he is also what we're all afraid to be: the person that lives out the cliché "shoot for the moon, because if you miss, you'll still catch some stars."

And it makes you wonder, is that so crazy after all?

.....................................

If that's not enough info, check out the trailer on  Paperbag Productions' "space". Simple enough?

.....................................

Other news about FFF and MI based indies....

"Never Odd Or Even" director of photography, Michael Madigan, will be presenting "The Candle" at this year's FFF. Also coming to the 4th Annual FFF; "InZer0: Mission 9" (Thought-Collide) will be screening along side "Demeter: A Fan Film" (Five Clover Films / Thought-Collide). So don't forget to check them out if you're planning an outing to FFF this year.

All times, dates and locations are currently available on Flint Film Festival's website: www.flintfilmfest.com

Chet-Mania Has Struck Again!

Well, hello there. I come tonight bearing good news, not to mention a few other side notes.

First and foremost; "Never Odd Or Even" a film written, produced and directed by Ellen Arden (That's me) and Theresa Jasko has been has been chosen as an "Official Selection" of the 4th Annual Flint Film Festival (MAY 17th - 20th).
-Hopefully this is the beginning of a wonderful relationship between Chet Marshall and the world wide audience.-

As of late; we (Paperbag Productions) have been targeting film festivals with a slightly different plan of execution. Flint Film Festival being the first on the list of our flight path change. So far so good?

Let's hope so.

For those of you who haven't been blessed enough to see the quirky little short film, here is the long version of the short of it (did that make sense?)...

Today our very own leading man, Chet Marshall (Never Odd Or Even), was cast out into the news. We received this "official announcement" from The Chet Marshall Fan Club of America (CMFCA), and we thought that we'd pass it along. So 'ere goes it;

-------------- Official CMFCA Announcment (March 2007)-------------

An official press announcement from Edward Dumar Productions was cast out into the film world today! Mentioned in that press release was Dumar's newest film; "Reddington Rides Again," and  hype that they have been generating with the "Duke Reddington" series. Also noted was the new line up on the cast and crew. (Ronnie Jevis will no longer be playing the infamous and covenanted role of Duke Reddington, the part is being re-casted later this month. Also, director of photography, M. Madigan, will be replaced with  DP M. Peach - "who probably can't man a camera to save his life" - says Madigan.)

Also in the press release; Director Dumar addressed the successes of "Duke Reddington" (aka - the first film of a 5 part series) compared to the feeble attempt to bring in the younger crowd with part two of the series; "Renegade Reddinton." A film which at first earned an NC-17 rating, returned to the cutting room to rid itself of several obscenities and various nude bodies, only to return to the American cinema three months later with a very talked about PG-13 rating.

National box office sales were minimal -to the extremes- and Dumar stated that as the leading problem for the obscenely large budgeted "Renegeade Reddington". Many film critics cited the "campy-ness" of the film as it's major money making issue, some even went as far to call the project; "a total waste of money and time."  The film did however manage to stay afloat in foreign markets.

"So how does Chet fit into all of this?", you ask.

Chet Marshall will be be featured in Edward Dumars latest edition to the series; as a ghost passenger who "rides shotgun" with Reddington over the rough and rugged terrain of the South Central neighboorHOOD of Los Angeles, as Reddington controls the population of foreign born non-citizens.

Chet has spoken openly about the project as being his first break through role in nearly 10 years. The film is Chet's first speaking role in a non-independent picture.

Vist www.moviesthatbombed.com for information on "Renegade Reddington" and www.neveroddoreventhemovie.com for Chet Marshall information.

Thursday night in Royal Oak, Chet brought the house down.  There was a ton of laughter and I'd say most of the 175 people in attendance seemed to genuinely enjoy the Chetster.  What more can I say?

We're hoping to get Chet on IMDB sooner or later (those guys practically want you to send in a blood sample!) we just have to sift through all the questions, etc.  But everyone involved will hopefully get that credit eventually!  Thanks to everyone who came out on Thursday.  It was awesome to see the support!
