On Friday nights, Myrrh (glasskid's better half) and I transform ourselves into DEE JAY P AND LADY MARS, through the magic of blip.fm. This week, however, for the first time since our foray into cyber-spinning, we won't be at the virtual turntables, since I'll be out of town and my partner in crime will be away enjoying a friend's blues band. We'll make it up to you. 'Promise.

Have a great weekend, and "Shana Tova!" to those of you observing Rosh Hashanah.

Hey, 'just a reminder that I'm performing in Little Tokyo, downtown Los Angeles, this evening. I'll be at Indigo Lounge/2nd St. Jazz House, 366 East 2nd Street, LA, CA 90012. Doors open at 9 pm and close at 1:30 am. There's no cover, but there is a two-drink minimum. The venue's for patrons 21 and older, and food's available.

Also on the feature bill is poet Rob Morrow and the EmCo Jazz Quartet. Plus, there's going to be an open mic happening! Phone 310.849.5938 for more details.

Speaking of playing about town, I never posted any video from July's Kulak's gig with SoulKiss and Susaye Greene. So, here are some highlights of me (and Myrrh) doing some stuff. 'Lots of close shots of my giant steroid face. (Good news: I'm off the 'roids now, and the swelling's going down. Thank God! I was starting to look like Humpty Dumpty's head on an eggplant, and was afraid that no one would ask me to the prom.) 'Hope you enjoy!

Peace and ♥!

Hey!

You may or may not be aware that—with the help of street teamers—we're embarking on a few tour support fund-raisers throughout the next few months. (By the way, to sign up for my street team, please visit HERE or HERE.) The first of our efforts was this past Saturday in Altadena, CA, where we successfully pulled off an intimate performance under the stars, surrounded by friends (old and new, alike) and the groovy ambience that is Funky Junk Farms. Good food, good company, good vibes...You get the idea. Three people who attended have written me since, declaring the event "a perfect summer night". I concur. And even though we had slightly fewer attendees than expected, we came within $250 of our goal AFTER taking care of the minor overhead. Huzzah!

Meanwhile, there's also a page at Fundable set up to accept donations. That page is live until August 23rd August 25th, at 11:59 pm EST. Just 5 days, 8 hours, 28 minutes and 11 seconds from the time that I'm typing this. As I've explained, for awhile now, the way the Fundable system works is that no pledges are actually applied until a minimum goal is reached. Our minimum goal was set at $2500. As of right now, only $230 of that has been pledged. So, here's the deal: We're going to lower the minimum objective to $800. That means that we only require $570 more to kick things into drive. Do you think we can make that happen in five days? I do. Everyone who donates $100 or more receives a special gift! The top donor receives an EXTRA special gift! (To be fair, we'll only be able to determine who the top donor is once the maximum goal has been attained.) Spread the word!

Speaking of kicking things...

We're kicking around ideas of other ways to raise funds. If you have some, send them tout de suite to fop@patsymoore.com. So far, we're leaning towards (the more traditional) bake sales notion and (the less traditional) booking of a handful of home concerts concept. If you'd like to participate in either, fop@patsymoore.com is, again, the place for contact.

Myrrh and I would like to thank everyone who had anything at all to do with the Funky Junk Farms birthday party/performance/fund-raiser. You made it a very special thing, indeed.

Peace and ♥!
