Paul Blackford/Scrase - Germ Warfare/Ford (Militant Science)

Paul Blackford launches a new label to cater for the middle ground between electro and drum & bass. As he demonstrates on 'Warfare', Blackford is approaching this new project from a DJ's perspective as tight pacey drums and cold acid bleeps prevail. Scrase, on the other hand, is more abstract, his bass-centric 'Ford' is more advanced but full of the kind of breaks and drops that may confuse.

MANTIS is back on the brapwaves with it's 28th show, with a full on UK Bass showcase from Paul Blackford.

SHOWCASE
Heavily inspired by early rave and Detroit Electro, his first release on Breakin' records in 2003 was described as a pioneering UK take on the Detroit Techno Bass sound. Since then, Blackford has released tracks on labels such as WIDE, Deadlock Records and DJ Godfather's Twilight 76. In 2007 Blackford set up Bass Gun Records with Smashback as an output for their own material as well as putting out fast bass-driven Electro from other artists. With support from DJ's such as Dave Clarke, DJ Stingray, DJ Godfather, EDMX, Keith Tenniswood, and many more, Paul Blackford continues to release new material and remix for other artists.

REST OF THE SHOW
After 4 weeks and several DJ sets throughout the South of the UK, DVNT is back on the hosting duties and a wealth of fresh music to wet your ears with. Including Arrestar, Fall & Regis, Rie, Scape One, Michael Trommer, and Hellfire Machina as well as some of his favourites from the past couple of weeks.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 27TH SHOW I HEAR YOU ASK
Due to a DJ set down in Bristol as part of the VOID vs BRAP South Coast tour, the 27th MANTIS was hosted by the rather suave Mr Seavers and Rob Soliton. The archive will be up on the podcast and usual places just as soon as I get the complete tracklisting for the somewhat extended 3+ hour show from the guys. DVNT's set from that leg of the VOID vs BRAP tour will be aired sometime in December on VOID radio.
