It has been a long time since I wrote on my blog. It took me seeing my name on my friends favorite blog list to shame me into getting going. Thanks Matt!
btw, Thanks Amy and Matt for my Toms Shoes! I should be getting them in a week or so. I got the camo patched ones. I'm pretty excited about it! If you haven't heard about toms shoes, check them out in a jiffy! www.tomsshoes.com Change the world!
So, since we've all come here to chat, several things have occurred in my life. Roomies have moved out and in, men have showed their bad sides and come and gone, family has had good and bad health and my car has been wrecked!
Let me just start with Mrs. Tanya. She finally decided it was time to cleave to her husband and moved off to Germany! Which is good because a good man should never be wasted and Andre qualifies. I have plenty of her mail to comfort me... even though that too needs to cleave to it's proper owner. In her place I have a wonderful new roomie named James. He fills the space left very nicely, even if the luxury of tromping about half naked (or more) is sacrificed. James does bring the luxury of chopping wood for the fire and cooking us food, all in all, I think I can spare the tromping about perfectly well.
I had a Christmas boyfriend. It was a disaster and what's worse is I chose to ignore the fact that it would be. I got my hopes up for nothing, but the bright side is that I know that door is closed and I can move along on to better options. Those better options seem to be popping up all over! I might just begin a rash of dating in next to no time. I love that! Always a great story.
My Dad has fully recovered and that makes us all happy. I haven't heard the results from the last Dr's trip, I'm sure all is well and I'm thankful. My Grandmother, on the other hand is increasingly losing her memory. It's hard on the folks, but the right thing to do until she decides to leave us. I hope I can be in such a good place to take care of my family as my parents have.
And finally, the Red Baroness may be leaving me for car heaven. I slid into a dumpster in a snow storm last Thursday and though it wasn't fast, it may have been fast enough to kill my car. I'm currently carless and kind of enjoying learning a new way to get about. If it works out, I might just go green a few times a week. Tomorrow will be the first real test and it's going to be freezing! I'm talking like 10 degrees people! Wish me luck!

Well, much has happened since last I blog and I'm in a bit of reflective mood... no better time than to blog.
First off, I'm getting new room mates. This is not my favorite thought, though I hold no grudges. Can't expect a married woman to stay away from her husband for long and don't blame anyone wanting to be closer to their friends. Still, the thought of not knowing who I'll be living with is not a fond one. I also know that this will be a great learning/ growing experience for me. The worst thing that can happen is by no means unbearable or uncorrectable.
Secondly, my Dad's surgery is in two weeks. I'm a little nervous since my close friend, Tara's dad had the same surgery, but with complications. I think they have different circumstances, but still it's never fun to hear. Not to mention it's hard to hear about someone so close. I am looking forward to seeing my family and spending some fun evenings with the neighbors.
Thirdly, I'm still not over my exboyfriend. I just cried on Tara's shoulder after seeing some of his family. They miss me as much as I miss them, but not as much as I miss him. I am painfully still in love with him. I'm doing everything I can to get over it, move on, but I don't think there's a day when I don't think about him in some way. Not so stalkerish as it used to be, but all 'I hope he's doing well' thoughts. He's a great man and one day it will all come together for him. Just knowing I'm not around to see it is the hard part, I think. I guess that's how love works weather or not you are together.
The good news is I'm having a hell of a good time trying to get over him! My friends may beg to differ, but I've never had so much male attention at my fingertips before! How can an attention hog NOT enjoy that? Who cares if it takes 5 guys to replace one and even that pales in comparison... It still keeps me out of trouble and full of fun stories.
Finally, I saw Garrison Keillor on Monday night. It was a great evening. I think he's so brilliant, funny and smart. Anyone who knows me knows how sentimental I am. Garrison is a huge part of my family memories and therefore will always be coveted! I got my pic taken with him and then got some drinks with the nice guy who took the picture. Life is never dull and I had sooo much fun!

Oh I just lavished myself in Therapy today. Got my hair diid, a new purse, shoes, 2 new blouses, a sweater, a belt, AND a necklace. OK, so I went to Ikea and got some storage stuff, too. Alright! MAYBE I went to the Container Store, too. It was SOOOOOO fun!
I'll be ready for a date tomorrow and maybe a round of dominos! Oh, how I love dominos. Not more than wii, but I'm better at dominos... ;-) I'm sure my cousins would agree.
PS. I love David Letterman.

Current mood: contemplative
Seriously, I've had the two most beautiful weeks in football history! I love college ball. I love being loyal to not only my Gators, but teams that my friends and family are connected to. Last week, the great story of App State (and the Gators won!) And now this week USF (and the Gators won!) Most importantly, the Gators won!
Also, one of my dearest friends called me from the game to let me hear the band and the old Gator colors cheer. God Bless good friends. Only the best of them share the best of times.
So I'm looking forward to a good year in football. Hoping the Skins and the Bucs win tomorrow, or later today. It'll make working a double a little less painful.

I'm so excited! My Dad and Bubba finally got a chance to bring me my bed frame and Step Back Boy (aka a big box with shelves.) My room is considerably cozier with all this furniture here, but they are perfect editions! I'm really just happy to have my bed off the floor! I need to go move my stuff into the step back boy. There's a ton of space for my sewing and crafting stuff. I'm so happy! I love being this easy to please.

Quite possibly the best thing on TV. I'm not saying that because I'm old. Remember when you thought the only people who enjoyed news programs were old? Anyway, I've grown up on this program. It has the best of everything from art, music, biography, amazing sights in America and else where. It's the best, did I mention that? What it. Learn something interesting, get updated on the news and have a good laugh at a commentary or movie review. It's a good thing.

Stacy at work decided I needed a gansta name. It's entirely her fault. But it so made me laugh.

It's a hard thing to do, but it needed to be done for my own sanity. I have defriended the ex. Access to his profile was killing me! It's hard enough to have him break up with me, much less not seeing him move forward with anything in his life except, seemingly, girls. THAT sucks. Not that I haven't had my fair share of dates, it's just disappointing. It also makes me start to devaule what kind of relationship we use to have. Who needs that!? I'd much rather believe I was an amazing force in his life, as he was mine... true or not! Though in my heart, I know it's true.
Suddenly a song comes to mind: Love me, love me Say that you love me
Fool me, fool me go on and fool me
I don't care but anything but you...

Well, in the name of a fine tradition, my birthday is only days away... 20 to be exact!
I'd hate for anyone to feel the guilt of forgetting when I can so easily remind them! :-) I'm a giver like that!
Take a moment to laugh at me and if the desire so strikes, mark the calendar for 7/17... the day I turn 33. I'll be working that day, but have plans for the days following the big day. The poor parents will have to celebrate their own birthdays without me this year. The trip to NC will need to hold off for awhile. Think they can deal?
My love to you all. Drop a line if we haven't chatted for awhile.

I find there are things I'd love to blog about and get people's opinions, but the one or two 'friends' I have that I don't want to read it hold me up.
I will say this. In general terms what is happening in my life is a swirling confusion of love. When does one give in, throw in the towel, see the nose on ones face, or drop him like a ton of bricks or hot potato.
The good news is I got a new pair of fabulous jeans. They are hot from the back.
