Thank you to all of our fans for voting for us in the CCM Reader's Choice Awards. We are very honored. It's a pretty cool thing for a band from Montana to be voted 2 in such a wide reaching survey as the Reader's Choice Awards. Thanks again!

Salt Lake City, Utah (June 27, 2007)—Alt-pop band Pivitplex have teamed up with novelist T.L. Hines to create a song tie-in to his new suspense novel. Following the success of his debut supernatural thriller, Waking Lazarus (one of Library Journal's Top 25 Genre Novels of 2006), Hines returns July 1 with his latest must-read, The Dead Whisper On (Bethany House). "My new project is more than just a book," says Hines. "It's also a song, written and performed by the band Pivitplex."
Pivitplex vocalist, Scott Brownson says the song they recorded for the book, "Hope Killed the Shadows (The Dead Whisper On)," was inspired by the message of redemption found in the thriller. "T.L. is from Montana and we're from Montana, so it was a really fun collaboration. When he sent me the transcript, I couldn't put it down. I use a lot of imagery from the book in this song, but it all plays out straight from my life.
"I really love how the poetry flows in this track. It all points to the incredible salvation we can receive through Jesus Christ's death and resurrection. I reference the amazing day that Christ took our sin and tore the veil in the temple, making it possible for each of us to have God's spirit dwelling in us. The veil was torn from top to bottom; amazing! When we turn from our ways and give our lives to Jesus, we are forever changed in an instant. Praise God!"
Brownson says the music for the song was originally written for the band's sophomore album "The King in a Rookery" (released November 14, 2006). "We cut it because the song was a little underdeveloped. I was very excited when we were given the opportunity to record it." "Hope Killed The Shadows (The Dead Whisper On)," can be previewed on the band's MySpace page: http://myspace.com/pivitplex and will soon be available for sale on iTunes. It will release to Rock and CHR radio on July 13.
Brownson currently lives in Salt Lake City with his wife and two daughters where he is the worship pastor at Calvary Salt Lake City. "In March of this year, I felt God calling me to become deeper plugged into a church. I was a youth pastor and worship leader when I started Pivitplex and it was such a blessing to be so deeply involved as a part of a church staff." He says the very day he felt God saying it was time for him to look for an opportunity to serve, he received a message from Calvary Chapel of Salt Lake.
"I immediately blew it off. I had no plans to move from Nashville and being deeply involved with a church was already going to make touring with Pivitplex difficult. Salt Lake seemed completely out of the question." But, Brownson says as the day dragged on, he and his wife couldn't shrug off the feeling that they needed to explore the possibility. "We knew that God has always pushed us to do things out of the box and not let ourselves grow comfortable. I felt His hand pushing me to trust Him. So, we took the step to take on another adventure."
Brownson says Salt Lake is an amazing mission field—a place of intense spiritual warfare. "The city is seventy percent Mormon. There are so many precious people that are lost in the lie of the Mormon church. It is exciting and intense to be here and be a light for Jesus in such a dark place. God is blessing our faith."

The incredible new single from Pivitplex, "Hope Killed the Shadows (The Dead Whisper On), is hitting radio July 13th. The song will be released to rock and CHR radio. Let's be ready to send this song to #1.
The band did not release a single from "The King in a Rookery", so it will be exciting to watch another song rise to the top of the charts.
