Pop Echo Records is totally stoked to announce the signing of Edmonton's Outdoor Miners
Even though Outdoor Miners only started playing
together in late 2008, they "highly anticipate where the relationship
is going". They formed after the disbanding of Peter and Alec's previous band 'Belgium'. They swiftly recruited Sean Macintosh on drums and soon
discovered that he was the most creative drummers they had ever played
with. After about six months of playing their take on fuzzy noise pop
around Edmonton. They were named one of the "Local bands to watch in
2009" by See Magazine, which described them as "Technically proficient
but not wanky, amazing hooks but not too poppy". Outdoor Miners will release a series of 7 inches over the next year, and are planning a North American tour for summer of 2010.
Pop Echo will be releasing their debut single "Twelve Hundred Dollars"
on iTunes November 3rd and in 7" form November 10th. The band will be
celebrating the 7" release with a show November 6th at Likwid Lounge.

After a series of loosely organized afterparties The Royal Bison decided it was time to add a official party to Edmonton's best indie arts and craft show. We are honored and excited that Pop Echo Records has been asked to curate the first "official" Royal Bison afterparty. Headlining the night will be local indie-pop sensations Hot Panda. Fresh off a North American tour in support of their Mint Records release "Volcano...Bloody Volcano". Hot Panda are well rested and tighter then ever. The Royal Bison Afterparty will see Calgary's heat-ray make their Edmonton debut. Featuring members of two of Alberta's best loved bands The Floor and Hot Little Rocket. heat-ray's sound is best described as the lush sweep of My Bloody Valentine mixed with the ear-splitting roar of Th' Faith Healers. Pop Echo Records will be releasing their debut lp "Loveallover" August 5th. Outdoor Miners are one of Edmonton's best young bands. Channeling the spirit of two of our favorite bands, Wire and Pavement. Get there early these guys are not to be missed. Rounding out the bill will be a Pop Echo djs Travy D and G Spot plus a few special guest djs See ya there!
