All I can say is WOW

This guy got permission to use some of the oldest computers ever made for a music project.  The comps were used in WW2 to break codes.  This is rad on so many levels.

PS I've been posting more under a different blog http://rasmussen.page27.com/ because i wanted to have it show up in more than 1 place and be available without a login.  Just a few posts on there now...

FFT on live audio in 3d makes some cool stuff.
Written in processing, check processing.org for more info.
Audio code is done with minim.
Sound is from one of my tracks.

Get one while they are available!!! Just got mine today. Its a c64 cartidge that has a midi port mounted on it. And it works!

There are a bunch of apps on the cart.

Sequencer, its a 3 track sequencer, you can run 2 sids if you have a sid2sid board. The midi is fully assignable, it comes with preset instruments or you can load/save from disk.

Mono synth, all voices used.

Baseline, a 303 emulator

Drummer, a 808/909 using wavetables.

Waveplayer, a sampler, yep a sampler! You can load in 8bit samples, sample time is only up to 5.5 seconds, but cmon with 64k of memory heh pretty nuts.

I made a processing sketch to listen to my soundcard and draw stuff. The track playing is one of my newer ones. Processing is sweeeeet, this is just 2d stuff you can do opengl 3d stuff with it.

I'm able to run the audio out of ableton into it for live visuals, just have to write more interesting code than what i've done here, hope to show this stuff off at shows in 09

Can even have it listen in on the notes that are playing or convert the sound into frequency bands, should look pretty cool.
