The Sky's Weight is offically out--a book about travel and also solar scientists.  I like being curious about the world and the cosmos.  Here is the link.

The emails pouring towards me makes me feel special.  Thank you ALL.  There was a time in my life in which I felt unloveable, invisible.  But friends guided me towards me.  So each birthday, to me, feels like a celebration of friends who trusted me to become who I was supposed to be.  I want to buy you all presents and not get them.  Thank you, my secret family.  Rane

Current mood:  adventurous

Thanks to friends and new friends for emails and gifts.  I tend to keep the day lowkey.  I do like that if you count backwards, I was conceived on Valentine's Day.  Maybe why I love love?  And Susan, an erotic calendar of shirtless cowboys, hmmm.

Let's start a movement to nominate her for a Nobel Peace Prize.  She has never faltered about her murdered gay son.

What an amazing woman of strength.

She demands peace.

Brief note:  I loved Glee.  Yeah, sterotypical high schpol divisions, all soap opera, but it was great the way ice cream is after working out at the gym.

Sin may be underrated.

We are proud to announce that New Sins Press presents its Editors' Prize book now available for 15.00 dollars (US postage included and international readers can inquire).  Make checks to New Sins Press and mail your order to: Rane Arroyo, 3925 Watson Avenue, Toledo, OH 43612.  Each penny is used to cover costs and support for future books!  We dare go to places that conservative presses don't go.

Kyle Flak

If the collection’s absolute congruence of form and content so moves me that I thrill to turn each page for the next experience, I know that this is indeed a volume of poetry—poetry reinvented.  --James Penha

Harmonica Days is sharp, sad, witty, silly and frighteningly alive. --Geoffrey Gatza

School has started and I'm happy to write that my new students are energetic and already working hard.  Cutbacks are something else and require us to sort through our vision/version of education.

Some individual poems accepted for publications, some of it risky for editors.  Also my press just got the book for Kyke Flak's Editor Prize poetry collection, Harmonica Days.  The hard work was worth it.

Guess I've been on youtube too much because I recently had to prove that I wasn't spanning!  Just fascinated by the notion of authorship and new media.  Oh, and using Blackboard in my classes has been very positive experience.

It is official:  I will be turning the Roswell Poems into a play!  More on that soon.  Been listening to all kinds of music lately.  Revamped videos on myspace page and more to come--many of the great indies don't have a video yet (Anthony Salari, waiting!).  Soon I'll post photos of my paintings--a digital camera needs a walk now and then.  Friends, how are you all doing?

Visit this youtube site--this is my nephew, Vincent!  Great dancer (has already worked with video stars and pro dancers like Chris Judd).  The more hits, the more he is launched into the world of dancing--his true love.

August is not an academic's best time period.  It's time for syllabi, completing summer projects, meeting grants deadlines and re-reading textbooks--if one is a dedicated teacher and writers.

I return after a year's sabbatical and feel energized.  Taking lessons on using computers in a new way--not just searches or power point etc.

Thanks for comments on poetry video on youtube--but why send emails and not post them!

Working on new music review--three new strong singer/songwriters.  Wish I knew an artist who would help co-write a graphic novel.  I'm ready for fun.

Will post more soon now that I'm not writing all the time.  Rane
