David B. Smith Gallery in Denver CO is pleased to announce the opening of "Nature/Nurture", a 2-person exhibition of new works by renowned artist/animators Chris Reccardi and Lynne Naylor. An exclusive online-only presale preview is now available here.
The two artists visually explore the duality of the age-old question "...are we a product of our natural dispositions (nature), or of our upbringing (nurture)?".
Naylor's new works abound with surreal innocence as she explores the natural world of a young girl and the creatures she is emotionally akin to. Reccardi's new pieces depict a darker yet colorfully abstract glimpse of human characters emotionally and physically isolated from a dystopian future.
The exhibit will be on display until May 23rd. Exclusive presale preview is available now on Myspace HERE. and on April 27th at http://www.davidbsmithgallery.com . Art inquiries may be directed to info@davidbsmithgallery.com.

THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR RESPONSES. THIS IS A TICKETED EVENT AND HAS SOLD OUT. Chris Reccardi's new band, Cosmopollus is going to play one of the coolest shows ever, at "Wrightsland" in Malibu on Saturday October 25th 2008. Wrightsland is a natural mountaintop retreat that plays host to many private events, and this is not one to be missed. "Cosmopollus, the musical offspring of artist/animator Chris Reccardi, reinvents the modern psychedelic experience through colorfully crafted pop songs, surreal lyrical imagery and dreamy improvisational passages, where Electronic textures and vintage instruments weave together to create a sound one would immagine as a collision between late-70's Gary Numan and early Pink Floyd. Psychelectronodelic, to be precise"

Guitar Merchant presents Sir Cosmo Cosmopollus Live this Saturday Sept 27th at 8pm. Sir Cosmo Cosmopollus reinvents the modern psychedelic experience through colorfully crafted pop songs, surreal lyrical imagery and dreamy improvisational passages, where Electronic textures and vintage instruments weave together to create a sound intended to carry the listener far away from the mediocrity and ugliness of the current societal existence. The alter-ego of Animator/Painter Chris Reccardi, Sir Cosmo recreates the live experience with a small and eclectic ensemble of immaginative musicians, Hi-Fidelity sound, and a digital light show. Sir Cosmo despises the humdrum of L.A's banal club scene, but will play at the right venue for the right people. He values the comfort of you, the audience and providing a stimulating live experience for all those who remember that "Stupid is not really the new cool". Sir Cosmo accepts fine cigars and quality Beer from those so generously inclined to offer it. He is independently wealthy and is engaged in the practice of playing live music solely as a means to "enhance the experience of personal suffering". If you are a performing musician, this needs no explanation.

This is the coolest. Must have it. http://musicthing.blogspot.com/2008/07/design-inspiration-behind-omega-orion.htmlAnd before all of you other synth dorks start throwing out plagiarism accusations, my piece was inspired by vintage computer designs from the early '70's, NOT an actual synthesizer.
