Today is Josiah's 26th Birthday! Oddly, he was born on National Aviation Day 1983 at (...think Boeing...) 747 p.m.

Incidentally, today is also Afghanistan Independence Day (from Britain), and the birthday of Malcolm Forbes, Bill Clinton, Tipper Gore, Fred Thompson, Ginger Baker of Cream, John Deacon of Queen, Johnny Nash, Clay Walker, Lee Ann Womack, Matthew Perry, Katharine of Bohemia, John Dryden, Romeo, and of course last but not least ... Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway!

Anyway, happy birthday Josiah!

During our tour across the Middle East, one song was universally loved and praised by everyone who heard it.

That song was "Feel".

Now, for the first time, we've released this song as a high-quality single.

We think you'll love it too.

Visit our music page to listen to it, and see the cover art:

Hello friendly and fellow adventurer,

As you know, we've recently returned from our 25-day tour of the Middle East, finished our 53-songs-of-the-week (thus completing a full year of our endeavor), and begun work on the rest of 2008's activities. We're getting our Fall college tour lined up right now.

Some people may be curious about how we plan our tours. After all, this past year we've booked trips to Little Rock, Houston, Colorado, Florida, and Kuwait. So I'll let you in on a secret. We plan tours according to...

"The Indiana Jones Sequel Plan"

Think about it like this. Every time Indiana Jones has to go out on another adventure, his writers have to concoct a new destination that encompasses an ancient relic, a secret religious society, an arch-villain, and a brush with a past girlfriend. Each sequel has to get bigger and better, taking him into a more and more cataclysmic confrontation with evil.

That's kinda how we plan our trips.

We sit around and think of how we could make our adventures bigger and better than they've ever been before. Could we run into Bill Clinton on the streets of Little Rock? Check. Could we somehow find a way to make Mr. Belding (from Saved By The Bell) our biggest fan? Check. Could we meet the author of that low-budget cartooning tutorial we watched as children? Check. And if there is a chance we could cavort with the falcon-trainer for the king of a small Arabian country, why not?

Ok. It's not exactly finding the Ark of the Covenant and fighting Nazis. But we're getting there. We're still in the "Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" phase. (You remember that short-running TV series about his exploits as a young man, right?)

We're just trying to continue the adventures until we can afford our own bullwhip.

So here's the question for you. We're looking at our upcoming tour and thinking about where we can go, and what we can do.

So we need to know what YOU think. Where can we go? What will continue the adventure?

So tell us. Would you like to see another big show in your area? Or perhaps a small show? When would be the best time of the year for us to come through your area? Where would you like to see a show happen?

Let me know what YOU think. Remember, think outside the box. Tell us what you really feel. After all, this is all about YOU and...

...the continuing adventure.

Okay, so we left Qatar and flew into Bahrain today on a C-130 that had barely any A/C (eek). I think they said it was 115° when we left, and it felt like about that much. But when we got to Bahrain, we were right by the water, and there was a cool breeze that seemed to keep the temperature moderate. It was actually kind of nice.

We got through customs and the hotel sent a van to pick us up. When we got to the hotel, there was some kind of mix up with our rooms, but not a big deal. 20 minutes later we were relaxing in our rooms.

Or should I say apartments? My "room" was actually a 5 room living area, not counting the deck. This was a stark contrast to all the other accommodations we've experienced on this tour, which have ranged from tents, to conex boxes, to warehouses, to huts, to shacks, to small dorms.

I kind of felt guilty in some way, since we were really here to perform for the military, not relax at a seaside resort. But at the same time, this offered us a nice break from the regular grind we've been experiencing up till now.

We were in Windsor Tower Hotel in downtown Al Manama, a city in the Kingdom of Bahrain. What is the U.S. doing with a military presence here? We don't know, but we'll find out at about 0730 tomorrow.

We just sent out the official press release, but we wanted to let you all know before it hits the papers. We want to see you THIS COMING SUNDAY (Apr 27) at 11:30 a.m. at the National Guard Armory in Charleston, WV!

The National Guard Armory in Charleston will be hosting a meet and greet and send-off celebration for the band THIS SUNDAY from 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Special guest GOVERNOR JOE MANCHIN III will be in attendance to wish the band well on their 25 day overseas military tour. The event is being covered by both WVAH FOX 11 and WOWK CBS 13 and will be a featured story on the news that evening.

Everyone is welcome to come and go at any time during the party, but we recommend arriving on time so you can talk to the band, catch a special acoustic performance, and possibly meet Governor Joe Manchin III when he stops by as well (prior to 12:00 noon). There will be free refreshments and a casual meet and greet afterward, in between interviews and photos with local press.

Be sure to come out and see the band before they leave! Also remember to catch the free full-set performance happening the night before (Saturday the 26th) at the River's Edge Cafe in St. Albans, WV. See tour calendar for the details!

The Redding Brothers were in Atlanta, GA this past Wednesday-Sunday, and were in their downtown hotel when Friday night’s tornado tore through the city.

"Well, we basically were resting after a long day at the APCA national conference," said Gabriel, "laying in bed half asleep, when suddenly Josiah noticed the wind pick up, and saw pieces of shingle and all kinds of debris just filling the skies, swirling overhead."

The band said it was a surreal view from their 8th floor hotel room.

"Our room was kind of situated facing the inside of a big "C" shaped building looking out over the business district of downtown," said Josiah. "I think the "C" shape of the buildings did something strange with the wind, and created a sort of miniature twister, full of debris, right outside our window. Everyone was staring up at the sky — it was truly freaky."

The tornado sadly resulted in at least 27 injuries and 2 fatalities, according to local news sources.

The band will post their own photos, taken from their hotel window during the storm, in the tour photos section of the website as soon as possible.
