Wonderful news today at 7:50pm, My sister Carin gave birth to her 1st child, a 7lb,9oz baby girl that her & Chris named Kya Lydia McManus. Sounds like everything went ok for both mom & baby. Hopefully we'll get to see some pix up on Carin's myspace page in the next few days.

Hey everyone,

Just a quick update here. It's been a little while since my last blog post, been busy with Lora as I'm sure you all know. She's doing great by the way, a little angel that's worth all the tired days & nights. I just put up 17 new photos of her in the "Lora" gallery of my pictures area. Also just uploaded another 8 videos of her too in the video channel. So head to those areas next to see them.

Also added another small album to my photos section called "Cartoon World". With the Simpsons Movie & Burger King teaming up to "simpsonize" pics on their website, I thought I'd join the fun. In that album is pix of me as a Simpsons, a South Park, a Who Wants to be a Superhero?, and a Comic Book character. Look it over for fun.

Anyhow, all is well here. Angie & I are both tired but very happy new parents.

Just to keep everyone aware, Lora is doing great! She is such a sweetheart. It's amazing how someone so small can consume so much of your time. Hope you enjoy the pictures of her in my photo section.

This last Saturday I played at the "Spirit on the Plains" concert at Hitchcock Park in Mitchell. It was a fun time! Small turnout due to the weather though. My group played 3 sets plus some extras and I also sat in with one of the other groups as they were in need of a bass player. Altogether, I played for about 4-5 hours. What a great way to praise the Lord! Anyhow, got Monday's paper & opened it to  page 3 and surprise... It's me! So for your viewing pleasure, here's the small clipping...

Today's a sad day for comic book fans as you can read by clicking on the link below. The thing about this that makes me upset is that "Cappy" isn't just another comic book character, he's a representation of an ideal. He's what we all should strive to become more like. The part that makes me so angry about this is when I read quotes like Joe Q's (in the story) where he says "He hasn't been living in the modern world and the world does move" which is totally false as Captain America has been and is still relevent to the modern world. Who Captain America is and what he stands for should NEVER, EVER be something that is outdated. To use another quote from the article, Captain America creator Joe Simon says "We really need him now", to which I could not agree more and would also add myself, "More than ever!" As we've seen in the past, puting another man in the uniform doesn't work and I know that this is comics and that in this genre Steve Rogers will more than likely return again (somehow) in the next 5-10 years, but the way that Marvel has handled him and the whole Marvel Universe throughout this whole Civil War and on through his death is something I don't approve of and leads me to feel very disappointed upon hearing today's news.

I'll end this blog with the beginning of the final words from Captain America Comics #1 from way back in 1941. It reads, "But the work of Captain America is never done..." Farewell for now to the Icon.
