als ersten Vorboten auf dem langen Weg zu einem neuen Album gibt es auf der aktuellen Ausgabe der altehrwürdigen Compilation „Advanced Electronics“ den neuen Retrosic-Song „Feeding Time“! Außerdem im Kasten ist ein Remix für unsere Helden von Project Pitchfork, in dem Peter Spilles und Cyrus die Vocals gemeinsam bestreiten! Wir kriegen das Ding kaum noch aus den Ohren und das ist erst der Vorgeschmack auf 2009, für das wir versprechen: It will be feeding time again!

good news: a new Retrosic album is in the pipeline! As a first herald the new song "Feeding Time" is featured on the new issue of the venerable compilation "Advanced Electronics". We also finished a remix for our heroes of Project Pitchfork, where Peter Spilles and Cyrus will appear together on vocals, to be released on Pitchfork‘s new single in January. There is more news to come in 2009 for what we predict: It will be feeding time again!

..Although The Retrosic once more postpone their eagerly anticipated live DVD, they manage to stay behind schedule but ahead of their time – 62 years ahead to be precise. Band leader Cyrus ends up in the world of games for the first time, where he and virtual superstar Doria Gray appear shoulder to shoulder in the most successful fantasy-scifi role-playing game of all times. Obviously, we are talking about Shadowrun and its cyperpunk cosmos of 2070. Beside Cyrus' special guest appearance, the new adventure ''Into the Shadows'' will, for the first time in Shadowrun's almost 20-year long history, feature a correspondent in-game song of the same name. Sure enough, The Retrosic themselves account for this contribution – in collaboration with and under the audible influence of Doria Gray and her powerfully voiced soprano vocals. ''Into the Shadows'' is in many ways groundbreaking for the genre and will, instead of being published in the usual print format, be distributed as a limited promotional CD with all kinds of multimedia gimmicks from the German Shadowrun publisher Pegasus.

Selbst wenn The Retrosic einmal mehr die Veröffentlichung ihrer angekündigten Live-DVD verschieben, schaffen sie es doch ihrer Zeit voraus zu bleiben. Genau genommen sogar um 62 Jahre, denn Frontmann Cyrus verschlägt es erstmalig ins Games-Genre, wo er an der Seite des virtuellen Superstars Doria Gray im erfolgreichsten Fantasy-Science-Fiction-Rollenspiel aller Zeiten in Erscheinung tritt. Die Rede ist natürlich von Shadowrun und dessen Cyberpunk-Kosmos des Jahres 2070. Neben Cyrus' Special-Guest-Appearance wird im Rahmen des neuesten Szenarios ''Into the Shadows'' unter gleichnamigem Titel auch der erste In-Game-Song in der knapp 20jährigen Geschichte des Pen-&-Paper-Spielsystems zu finden sein. Und freilich zeichnen The Retrosic auch für eben diesen Song verantwortlich, allerdings in Kollaboration und unter hörbarem Einfluss der Sopranistin Doria Gray. Das Abenteuer wird vom deutschen Shadowrun-Verlag Pegasus, statt wie üblich in Buchform, als limitierte Promo-CD mit allerlei multimedialen Extras unters Volk gebracht.

Our live premiere at WGT was an amazing experience and we like to
thank all who attended the show and celebrated with us.

It seems we've been "quite quiet" for a while, but nevertheless
we have been very busy lately!

We are still cutting and editing the recordings of your live show,
so everyone who was not able to see us live or wish to keep a remarkable
souvenir - in 2008 we will release a dvd of our WGT show.

If everything works out fine, we will release a first appetizer of it
on the forthcoming "Advanced Electronics" DVD.

Oh, and... the plans for the new album are evolving too.

Hello everybody,

thanks a lot for all your feedback on our WGT show. It really meant a lot to us!

What's coming next? Cyrus is quite busy at the moment sorting the recordings of the show and planning some other film projects.

Next date for us will be in autumn - in beautiful vienna, where Cyrus and me will join the great HELL-O-WIEN event and do a THE RETROSIC DJ SET.

We´ll post a flyer soon. Hope to see some of you there!

The Retrosic will contribute a song to the benefit compilation "When Angels die", initiated by our friend DJ Sascha together with COP International.

It´s an utmost concern for us to to be part of this: The compilation is supposed to raise money for breast cancer awareness and an angel tombstone for Steffi, who died from breast cancer this year at the age of 29.
