If, like me, you're a little nerdy about fonts and layout, you might want to check out Covers, which is a blog 'dedicated to brilliant book cover design'.

There's some cracking ones on there, and perhaps some not-so-good ones. Either way, I'm rather fond of the clean cut design of my odd mannequin personage whom I've decided should go by the name 'Beverlee'...

I've been slaving away in edit suites the last few months, doing the old day job, and hadn't actually noticed that Body Parts was on the shelves until a week ago! Overcome with an emotion that approached rapture, which was slightly unbecoming in the middle of Borders, I took a photograph of the happy moment. It's kind of weird to see something you did actually out there.....

I've just heard that Body Parts is one of the 14 books longlisted in the UK for the Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award, which obviously makes me pretty happy. Of these 14 books, 8 were by Salt Publishing, who are also my publisher, so all kudos to them for getting some damn good books out there.

To see all the nominations on the Awards homepage, please click this.

Now, everyone think positive mental thoughts so Body Parts makes it onto the shortlist...

My website's finally up and running for anyone who'd previously moseyed on over and found a beautifully minimalist .404 error. Highly embarrassing personal information is given away there as a nice bonus enticement to visit...

In other news, 'Body Parts' is now also available from Waterstones, Borders, Foyles, and Blackwell. Links to buy are on my website.
