Interested in trying another form of birth control? Dr. Philip Darney at the University of California, San Francisco is conducting a Phase III research study in which women will try an experimental vaginal ring for 13 consecutive cycles. The study is designed to examine the safety and efficacy of the vaginal ring. The new ring, unlike the current marketed ring, is designed to last for the 12 months of the study. Women enrolled in the study will participate in seven study visits over the course of one year and up to three telephone follow-up contacts, if needed. In order to qualify for the study, you must be 18-39 years old, willing to discontinue your current birth control method and try a non-daily method. To participate in the study, you must currently be sexually active.
