Anyway, tonight was amazing. Jaclyn and I (as well as Skyler) went to a vintage clothing store, and then to Harvey's to eat. The food was absolutely amazing. It really surprised me - to actually have good homemade quality food. Anyway, had some Woodchuck beers while I ate, and wow, those make Miller Lite taste like a cow's anus. (sucks, cuz I still have some Miller Lite at home).

Now we are one more magazine back to the usual format of normality. X out any open creativity or uniqueness.

As well as the new Straylight Run song "try". The digital album is out Sept. 16th. Yet, there are only three songs on the EP. They say, that they are going to compile several EPs throughout the year into a full length. That bullshit. My respect decreases each time a band repeats a song on another EP, CD, or whatever. You are just forcing your fans to yet again purchase more of the same material that they already paid for. It just seems like its the same as ripping off the same fans that support you. Odd, and so money-driven. The same goes for bands who "re-release" an album, or cover it up with the term "deluxe edition".

I think is the one thing I would do once I won the lotto. There are SO many good ones I want to attend. But the price is just too high. Gas money + ticket + driving time = is making concerts a luxury any more.
Anyway, I missed Cursive and Warped Tour this year. I really wanted to see Cursive. In a month or so, Chicago is having a concert with The Faint & Jaguar Love (ex- Blood Brothers). I really want to go to that one.
I am going to see Sigur Ros, but I am just thinking that was a bad idea. I mean, the money, and time it takes to drive back here to Kalamazoo for an 8am class the next day doesn't interest me. :(

I am honesty sad to represent this country by souly being born on it's grounds, its "property". This country is just depressing. We are selfish, mislead, and just wrong. I just hope their is just some thread of hope running through this system of truth-twisting leaders. Yet, how would I know. I already took a college class on the upbringing of television and radio. - And from that, their is no way in hell I am believing the news. What you hear, what you get, is selective. You know that right? Is all selective.
Well. I must sound like a conspiracy-theory idiot. But its how I feel. Someone please change my mind. Prove to me that the morals in this country actually have some good in them. But why prove me wrong? I am part of the system too. I admit it. You have to be, in order to survive here. Like the money issue. I hate its powers. I hate its control. But I want it. i pray for it. If I had money, all my current problems would simply just vanish. That's the drive in our society. = to soak up this green back wealth.
It just seems like a never-ending washing machine. Once you're in it, you have to play by its rules. You just can't stand up and say, I want to go tanning. No, you have to spin with the others, and make the best of it. ( in all honestly, this issue is so huge, at least in my mind, that anyone could agree or debate this for a very, very long time. And I would love to hear the conversations too. but I am contradictory myself here, and I know it. But some of it needs to be put out there.)
Like cops. The police are supposed to keep us safe. And I should love them for several reasons. One, I have a kid, living in a shitty neighborhood. Second, I really do live in a shitty neighborhood. Yet, I have so many reminders oh how the police take advantage of their powers. Its just so wrong. And then I hear the news from the mainstream about, ---- what else, negative shit. (that all I ever hear on the news, negative, negative, negative. Its one of the many reason I hate television.) Anyway, I hear from my father about what is on the news, and just to hear what happened sickens me. I won't tell the story, but everyone working that night should have been fired instantly. - girls were captured, lost for a week. raped. parents found them. called the police. hour passes and so the parents. they were beat almost to death until the neighbors heard it, and went in to help. then the police show. wow. just wow. where the hell were the police? "Hey my children are being raped!" and the police take over an hour to respond. Nice. Gosh, fuck this society, right?

The overall winner is a great design / illustration. But, BUT, the top 30, listed on the site above. Wow, their are some. like. WTF. Like, are serious? I mean, their are not just a couple of designs that are bad, their are many designs on the "Top 30" that are just so, so, unimaginative, uninteresting and dull.
This is why I dislike design contests. Not that I don't win. Just that the winning designs are usually really bad. I would it when someone awesome wins, some work that is just amazing. This Freitag contest has judges that were part of the major design worldwide community and yet their choices are just bad. That just even more makes me think less of anyone else's opinion towards design.

Past Lives are one of the two bands that used to be the well-known Blood Brothers. The other band is known as Jaguar Love. It would be really neat to learn why the band broke up, because as far as I know, all the original members are still playing music. And the both, (both bands now) has strong resembles to Blood Brothers. The "singer" of Blood Brothers, Johnny Whitney, is now in Jaguar Love. I just got their release, its decent. Not great, but, its exactly what'd you expect. Not as good as the blood brothers. The "screamer" of Blood Brothers is now in Past Lives. This is why neither band is as good as the original Blood Brothers. The Blood Brothers were unique and great because of the singer and screamer relationship. It was just something amazing. And now, they are apart, so we'll see how they grow.

First week of the last week of college. Its nothing important. What's new? My Advanced Topics studio today, I found out that the overall topic of the next couple months will be "being green". I am not going to into now, but as part of anything in design, research is needed, and needed heavily. So, in return after over two years of its release I am finally going to watch "An Inconvenient Truth". I started it, and it looks remarkable. More on that movie later, I suppose.

They are a band that just keeps growing on me. They have several songs that are just, just amazing. Be sure to take a listen to: "Hospital Beds", & "Tell Me In The Morning". A side note. Anything with interest of the old band, The Cure, should take a listen to the newly released "The Perfect Boy EP". It has two songs on it. Buy it off iTunes. The single off of it is good, but wow. The second song you get with it, is amazing. Its called, "Without You". I don't know if its new or not (I am not too knowledgeable on The Cure's history), but this song is a keeper. His voice, the way the song is projected, is like a visual sound river, flowing slowly through the mind of closed eyes. Its amazing. I really enjoy the song. It's by far the best song I have heard from The Cure. Robert Smith, you silly bean! (the artwork for the EP, is great as well, as a side note!).
I will hopefully have the new album from Underoath, and can't wait to take a listen to it. Yay! Previewing the album online, it sounds REALLY good. Really good, heavy, heavy with slowed vocal parts throughout the song's layout. More on that later maybe.

the reggie show was awesome. I went to see the supposely** final tour of Reggie and the Full Efffect. It was a blast. Mainly since they played a tun of old material. Reggie is just crazy... it was a blast.
Postal Service's half, Dntel - his newest album is worth a listen. Definitely interesting cruise of electronic airwaves! - take a listen to it. Conor sings in one song, which is amazingly good.
