Attention all! We wish to announce that there will indeed be FREE BIRTHDAY CUPCAKES for the first hundred people through the door! It's a little thank you to everyone that's supported us throughout our first year and we, in turn, thank the adorably delectable Miss Dolly Tartan who shall be slaving over a hot stove to make these delicious confections as part of her Tarts for Tarts exchange program. So there it is folks, The Rockaburley Birthday: providing you with sweet little buns of joy and the cake ain't half bad neither.

From the bottom of our little sequined heart-shaped pasties, Daiquiri Dusk and I would like to thank all the performers and supporters of Rockaburley. 2008 was an enormous learning curve for us, our first three shows have each been challenging and wonderful in their own way and thanks to the professionalism, creativity and dedication of everyone involved we have laid scintillatingly top secret plans for Rockaburley well into 2009 and beyond!

Our New Year's Ball was an absolute blast with original acts from Gilda Lily, Miss Hell's Belle, Vendetta Vain, Daiquiri Dusk and myself, Cat Aclysmic. Miss Amelia Heart and Dolly Tartan delighted the audience as our ambient fan dancers before and after the show and we welcomed as our guest performer one of my personal favourites on the British burlesque scene, a girl as lovely and funny off stage as she is sexy on stage, Miss Golden de Licious.

We also had another first for us and featured The Coy Dogs, a fantastic rockabilly band that played all my favourite tunes and really set the tone of the night. Our Hogmanay Ball was just what we wanted: spontaneous, silly, sexy and a rockin good time and Daiquiri and I couldn't be more pleased! A special thanks to our stage manager Gill, who went well above and beyond the call of duty, as well as her team of highly skilled helpers including Cherry Loco and Lizanne. The evening finished off in a Scottish highland extravaganza to the amazing kilted dancing of Daiquiri Dusk and everyone danced the night away to the rockabilly sounds of All Tore Up's DJ Aaron.

We owe our success to a great many sources, from the support of our friends at Rhymes with Purple, to Glasgow club night All Tore Up, our lovely club Barfly, and the many many of you that let us know we were on to something good.  Also thanks go out to our wonderful photographer Stuart Crawford, our wonderful artist Wynn Ryder, as well as Tom Mathieson, Heidi Kuisma, Dawnimatrix, Freya and DJ Tony for all helping us along the way.  Bluesbunny also gets thanks for writing our first good review.

Thank you once again for your support; we are so excited about what the coming year holds for Rockaburley so stay tuned for much much more rockabilly burlesque featuring good music, good times, and bad women in 2009!  Watch this space!

All our love,
Cat Aclysmic and Daiquiri Dusk
